103. In a Strange Place (6)
“Cut, okay!”
At Director Kang’s signal, Song Yuna slightly bowed her head.
“Thank you for your hard work.”
Despite the greetings directed at her, Song Yuna offered only a silent nod before leaving the set.
“Yuna, good job.”
“Yeah.”
Song Yuna’s manager, Chief Choi, immediately approached her.
“You’re heading straight back to the accommodation today, right?”
“Of course.”
“I heard the other actors are gathering; I was wondering if you’d be joining.”
Knowing that the other actors met up every day after filming to share drinks and build friendships.
Chief Choi asked Song Yuna the same question again today.
Unsurprisingly, she just shrugged.
Then, without glancing around, she walked straight to her room.
They arrived in front of Song Yuna’s room without any further conversation.
Chief Choi smiled at Song Yuna and said,
“Yuna, go in and rest.”
As usual, she simply nodded once without any reply.
Bang.
The hotel room door closed.
Song Yuna was once again left to her own devices.
“Haa….”
The first thing that escaped her lips after closing the door was a sigh.
Having started filming in a foreign country, not even her own, over two months ago.
She was still alone.
It wasn’t that people hadn’t tried to connect with her from the start.
In the early days of filming, many actors had approached Song Yuna to chat.
But she hadn’t responded to their invitations.
And so, after a few days… a few weeks passed.
Naturally, no one looked for her anymore.
It was a self-imposed loneliness, but.
Song Yuna sighed in the darkened room and leaned back.
Darkness had already settled thickly outside the window.
She got up and approached the window.
“So many… stars.”
Song Yuna opened the hazy window.
Leaning against the window, she craned her neck to look at the sky.
Stars shining in the dark night.
Before she knew it, Song Yuna’s eyes were red-rimmed.
But it was just redness, nothing more.
Song Yuna raised her shoulders high, then let them droop, sighing.
“Haa….”
Then, swallowing hard, she murmured in a small voice.
“I miss Mom… even more today.”
Song Yuna fiddled with the gemstone on her necklace, lost in thought.
As if recalling her mother’s face.
A bitter, faint smile spread across her lips.
She let out a short breath and reached out to close the window.
That’s when she heard a voice in her ear.
“Haha, so this is the right way to do it?”
Song Yuna, who had been looking at the sky, quickly looked down.
Looking down at the first floor, she saw Jin Heesung chattering in front of the hotel.
She wiped away her tears with her hand, focused her eyes, and examined them.
Jin Heesung and Han Sia were chatting in a friendly atmosphere.
Song Yuna, without realizing it, held her breath and listened to Jin Heesung and Han Sia’s conversation.
“Of course. Ah, Heesung, I think I said this yesterday, and even a month ago?”
“Did you? Haha, I guess I got confused because we talked so much.”
“Oh dear, I’ll tell you again if you forget. Haha.”
Their constant laughter.
Song Yuna’s teary eyes had already dried up.
“Ahem.”
Clearing her throat, she straightened up from the window she had been leaning on.
Then, grabbing a cardigan to ward off the chilly night air.
She hurriedly opened the hotel room door.
***
A terrace that we had gradually created was formed in front of the hotel.
“Sia, where are the others?”
She turned her head at my question and answered.
“Seunghee isn’t feeling well, so she said she’s going to bed early.”
I frowned at Han Sia’s words.
“I guess Seunghee caught too much wind today.”
“That’s right. I think I’ll just go in and rest early today too.”
Han Sia yawned, covering her mouth with her hand, as if she was tired.
“Well, we’ve been running non-stop these days, haven’t we? Haha.”
She smiled brightly at my words and said.
“Yes, but when we go back to Korea, I think I’ll miss playing like this the most.”
I was smiling and nodding at Han Sia’s words when suddenly.
“Ahem.”
A strange voice came from behind me.
I was startled and turned around.
“Oh, Yuna?”
The sight of her standing with her arms crossed, wearing a long cardigan.
It had already been two months since we came to Australia, but.
Song Yuna had never come outside after filming.
So, the sight of her standing like that made me and Han Sia’s eyes widen.
Song Yuna stood there, raising her eyebrows.
Han Sia pulled out an empty chair next to her and said to Song Yuna.
“Yuna, don’t stand there, sit here.”
When Han Sia smiled brightly and spoke, Song Yuna rolled her eyes and sat down.
My eyes met Song Yuna’s in the air.
I blinked and asked her.
“You had a lot of filming today; you worked hard.”
Then she shrugged and sent a short reply.
“Well… yeah.”
I looked back at my phone at the unresponsive reaction.
Song Yuna leaned back in her chair and looked up at the sky.
Han Sia, on the other hand, looked around and yawned repeatedly.
How many minutes had passed as we spent time taking different rests?
Han Sia’s eyes were full of fatigue.
Eventually, she stretched and got up.
“I’m so tired; I’m going in first.”
I nodded at Han Sia’s words.
“Okay, get some rest and see you tomorrow.”
She went straight into the hotel, leaving only Song Yuna and me on the terrace.
I looked down at my phone again.
Song Yuna turned her gaze away.
“What are you doing?”
I turned my phone around and showed her the screen.
“I’m trying to create an SNS [Social Networking Service] account, but it’s a bit difficult because it’s my first time.”
When I scratched my head and told her, Song Yuna shook her head.
“Oh my, seriously….”
She clicked her tongue while looking at the blank SNS screen and snatched the phone from my hand.
“Have you just been creating an account until now?”
Then, she quickly pressed search on my phone and went to her account.
“Press follow on mine.”
Song Yuna pressed the follow button on her SNS account in a blunt tone.
That’s how the number of followers on my SNS account increased by one.
Song Yuna handed my phone back to me.
I looked at her phone and asked.
“Then what about you, Yuna?”
She frowned at my question.
“I don’t follow anyone.”
“So, am I the only one following you, Yuna?”
Instead of answering my question, Song Yuna jumped up from her seat.
With those haughty eyes, she glanced at me sitting down.
At that moment, a small breeze stirred.
The gemstone on her necklace sparkled.
With that, Song Yuna disappeared into the hotel.
I shrugged at her retreating figure and leaned back in my chair again.
“Shall I upload a post now?”
I was lost in thought, looking at the empty SNS screen with nothing on it.
SNS created to communicate with fans.
What should I upload in my first post to make the fans happy?
I stroked my chin and rolled my eyes.
Before I knew it, my hand was pressing the camera application.
Click-.
Click, click.
I took selfies with various poses and expressions.
I chose one of the five photos I just took that seemed to be the best.
And immediately uploaded it to the SNS post.
Several minutes passed after uploading the photo.
Ding-dong-.
I looked at my phone at the SNS alarm.
The alarm indicated that someone had liked the photo I had just uploaded.
“Oh, already?”
I smiled and clicked on the alarm.
As I opened the screen, expecting to see who was the first person to mark my photo.
The main character was none other than Song Yuna.
“She said she doesn’t follow anyone… Song Yuna, seriously….”
I shook my head, looking at her name on the screen.
Soon, I raised the corners of my lips.
***
“Ready, action!”
The director with fierce eyes and a harsh voice shouted.
Choi Seobin immersed himself in the role in the play according to his signal.
He opened his mouth with a changed look in his eyes.
“Are you the guy from back then?”
The opposing actor was overwhelmed by Choi Seobin’s gaze.
Nevertheless, he raised his head and shouted.
“Yeah, so what if I am? What are you going to do, kill me?”
The opposing actor said his lines as if he was teasing.
Choi Seobin sighed and slowly began to take off his wristwatch.
Clatter.
And the watch fell onto the glass table.
Choi Seobin quickly loosened his neck and wrists.
The opponent’s eyes trembled at his actions, but he shouted to show that he was not intimidated.
“If you kill me here, do you think you’ll be safe? Kill me, kill me.”
Choi Seobin’s eyes turned over.
He lowered his body with a murderous face and opened his mouth.
“The world won’t change just because a bastard like you dies.”
“Yeah, a guy who knows that….”
Choi Seobin blocked the other actor’s mouth with one hand.
He looked straight into his eyes and said.
“But… I know.”
“Ugh, ugh…. You can kill me….”
Choi Seobin raised one corner of his mouth and replied.
“Killing a guy like you… is a piece of cake.”
Everyone, including the staff, held their breath at his gaze and looked only at Choi Seobin.
A cold, frozen air.
A chilling silence was flowing through the scene.
“Cut, okay!”
It was an okay sign that was received in one take.
But Choi Seobin tilted his head and sighed.
The filming, which had been going on for several days, was going smoothly without any problems.
However, he couldn’t shake off the strange feeling in one corner of his heart.
The moment everyone was laughing and clapping.
Only sighs poured out of Choi Seobin’s mouth one after another.
‘Why am I not satisfied?’
He shouted at the director.
“Director, I’m sorry, but can I go one more time?”
At Choi Seobin’s words, the director got up from his seat and raised his eyebrows.
“This one was good, why?”
“I don’t like it.”
The director smiled faintly at his passion.
Soon, the staff took up their filming positions again.
“Okay, let’s go one more time.”
At the director’s words, Choi Seobin closed his eyes tightly and immersed himself in the role again.
“Ready, action!”
Filming continued at Choi Seobin’s request.
After a while, the scene was successfully completed.
However, Choi Seobin’s expression was still not bright.
“Wow, Seobin, your acting was great just now.”
Choi Seobin only nodded at the director’s words.
Feeling that his capabilities were not being 100% utilized as usual, he left the set with a dark expression.
After a moment of contemplation, Choi Seobin leaned against the wall and closed his eyes tightly.
‘When I’m with Jin Heesung… I was definitely acting like crazy….’
Choi Seobin immediately opened his phone and clicked on the calendar.
“Heesung must be filming overseas right now.”
After checking the date, he closed his phone.
Then, with a frown, he murmured softly, looking at the turned-off screen.
“Should I think about… taking him with me on my next project?”
