◈ 688. Peaceful Time Passes
Rembrary’s eyes widened as he spotted the Black Dragon.
The Black Dragon didn’t react immediately, pausing for a moment as if in thought, then grinned and waved.
But, as if having nothing more to say, he immediately turned and left.
Rembrary unconsciously tried to run towards the Black Dragon but had to stop when he nearly collided with a Hunter who had just arrived.
“I’m sorry. Have you been waiting long?”
The Hunter asked urgently as soon as he arrived, then pointed towards the inside of the building.
“Please come in quickly. Mr. Mors has been waiting.”
“Where should I go? Tell me, and I will go there.”
Rembrary, however, instead of following him inside, looked at the window where the Black Dragon had been standing.
“Pardon?”
The secretary looked at the window with a puzzled expression.
But there was no one there anymore. The secretary looked back at Rembrary, even more puzzled.
Rembrary’s voice sounded a bit anxious, but his expression remained calm, making it difficult to read his mind.
The Hunter, still looking bewildered, also looked up at the window Rembrary had been looking at and replied.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Rembrary. Temporary guests are not allowed to wander around alone without an escort.”
At those words, Rembrary asked with a surprised expression.
“What? Even me?”
The Hunters simultaneously lost their words. Their minds went blank, unsure of what to say.
Only the secretary who had brought Rembrary covered his face with his hand, feeling ashamed for no reason.
“Um… I’m sorry. It’s a rule that applies to everyone equally.”
“How inflexible.”
As the Hunters exchanged strange glances, the secretary, not wanting to feel any more embarrassed, quickly stepped forward and said.
“Let’s go quickly, High Priest. Hunter, where should we go?”
“Ah. Yes. T-this way.”
The Black and White Hunter, who had been staring at Rembrary with his mouth open, pointed inside and walked ahead.
Rembrary reluctantly followed.
The Black Dragon, who had moved to watch the scene, shook his head and smiled.

“I’m Song Yooni, a Hunter from the Ketus Team under Mr. Mors. I’m so glad to meet you, Mr. Rembrary.”
As the elevator remained stuck at the top of the 25th floor, the Black and White Hunter suddenly introduced himself, as if wanting to shake off the awkward atmosphere.
“I see.”
However, Rembrary’s brief reply made the atmosphere even more awkward, and Hunter Song became dejected, then tried to change the subject this time.
“Where were you trying to go earlier?”
“I saw someone I knew.”
‘Well, not exactly a person, though.’
“Oh, do you know anyone else besides Mr. Mors?”
“I know a few people.”
Having replied, Rembrary, feeling that there was no need to keep his face covered so tightly now that he was inside the building, flipped his hat back.
As soon as Rembrary took off his hat, the Hunters who were busily moving around nearby were surprised and stared at him.
“It’s Rembrary.”
“Look over there.”
The whispers and gazes immediately fell on his face, but Rembrary didn’t care.
Hunter Song was impressed by Rembrary’s composure, as being strong didn’t necessarily mean being used to people’s attention.
Come to think of it, he was very composed when he demanded special treatment earlier.
In the meantime, the elevator that had been stuck on the top floor finally started moving and arrived shortly after.
Rembrary entered the elevator and stood facing the wall. The inside of the building was clearly visible through the glass wall.
Then, as they passed the 3rd floor, Rembrary unconsciously looked again at the place where the Black Dragon had been standing, but the Black Dragon was no longer visible.
Was it because of the Binak’s liquid he had taken two years ago? Rembrary sighed, feeling uneasy for no reason.

As the Black Dragon returned to his office, Cloth was sitting on the sofa, helping himself to coffee, and waved his hand.
“Oh, you’re back?”
Cloth greeted him as if the Black Dragon had come to his own home and continued to sip his coffee.
He didn’t know when he had taken out the coffee, but it wasn’t the first time, so the Black Dragon took it in stride and sat opposite him, asking.
“Did you go to the tomb? You said you felt something strange?”
“Tomb? The Demon King isn’t dead.”
“Well, I can’t exactly call it a new house, can I?”
Cloth tried to protest the Black Dragon’s choice of words but recalled the unexpected person he had met there and said.
“Oh, right. I saw the High Priest there, you know?”
“I saw the High Priest here too, you know.”
Cloth expected the Black Dragon to be surprised and was about to say something, but he was more surprised by the answer and asked back.
“Here?”
However, Cloth soon remembered who the Deputy Director was here and erased his surprised expression.
“Ah, well, I guess that’s possible. The High Priest of Camuel is on this side, after all.”
The Black Dragon waved his hand in front of Cloth’s eyes.
“So, how was the place where the Demon King is sealed? If the High Priest is coming there, there must be a problem, right?”
“Give me some paper.”
Cloth drew a flow of power that looked like a net or a whirlwind on the paper the Black Dragon handed him, then handed it over.
“It looked like this.”
“What is this?”
“I don’t know either. At first, I thought the Demon King was sending us some kind of signal, but that wasn’t it either.”
Cloth seemed to tap the table anxiously for a moment, then added in an uncertain voice.
“I only felt it briefly, so I’m not sure, but I thought that power was somewhat similar to the pressure I received when crossing dimensions.”

“Deputy Director, I have brought Mr. Rembrary.”
Hunter Song knocked on the door and said, and a voice from inside said, “Come in.”
As Hunter Song opened the door, Rembrary entered. Mors, who had invited him, was looking at Rembrary with a sullen expression.
However, as if he hadn’t been paying attention to this side at all, as Hunter Song closed the door, he clicked his tongue and sneered.
“How long has it been since you came back? You sure are quick to come.”
“Are you touched?”
“I’m indirectly criticizing you for not coming sooner.”
“I came quickly enough, what are you talking about?”
Rembrary denied Mors’s criticism and asked.
“Can you prevent people from approaching the area where the Demon King is sealed?”
“I’ve already given the order. Anyway, everyone was reluctant to go near that area because it felt uneasy, so it’s not difficult.”
“That’s a relief.”
Mors said with a sullen expression.
“But if you find out what’s happening there, tell me too.”
“I will.”
Mors frowned at Rembrary’s reply, which sounded a bit perfunctory.
However, looking at Rembrary’s smiling face, it didn’t seem like he was answering perfunctorily.
Well, he’s always like that. Eventually giving up on saying anything more, Mors sighed and asked.
“So, how have you been for the past two years?”
* * *
After Rembrary left, Mors looked at the area around the Demon King’s seal, which the Hunter there had taken a picture of and sent.
As he was doing so, Hunter Song, who had escorted Rembrary, came in to report that he had completed his mission.
Mors put down the phone with the picture and asked.
“Where’s Rembrary?”
“He has left.”
At Hunter Song’s report, Mors nodded and picked up his phone again.
Hunter Song bowed and turned around. However, Mors, who seemed to have finished speaking, suddenly spoke again, preventing him from leaving.
“What did you think?”
“Pardon?”
Hunter Song turned around, about to grab the doorknob.
“Are you asking about Mr. Rembrary?”
Mors nodded.
Why is he asking that? Hunter Song was puzzled but opened his mouth.
“He seemed more unique and confident than I thought.”
“His personality is strange, right?”
“…He was individualistic.”
Hunter Song was answering honestly, but he couldn’t understand Mors’s intention in asking such questions.
However, Mors didn’t give any more specific words; instead, he was lost in thought and gave an unexpected order.
“If Rembrary shows any strange behavior there, contact me immediately.”
“Pardon?”
Hunter Song couldn’t understand Mors’s order and involuntarily asked back.
When it was revealed that Rembrary wasn’t the cause of the upheaval, Mors seemed relieved, so why is he suddenly making such a request now?
However, Mors didn’t seem to give any further explanation.
“Understood.”
Hunter Song also had no choice but to answer reluctantly and leave.

Unlike Mors, Rembrary, Daeju, and the demons, who were worried about the current situation for different reasons, time passed quickly without any particular events.
The world was quiet for several days after Rembrary saw Mors.
The monsters that occasionally appeared were at a level that Hunters could handle.
Even after Rembrary returned, he didn’t treat anyone other than believers, so people who needed treatment were anxious, but they couldn’t complain about it anywhere.
The only memorable event for Rembrary recently was that the vice president of Shin-gi-ru came to apologize in person.
“I’m sorry for misunderstanding Mr. Rembrary without even knowing the situation properly.”
“It’s alright. It all worked out in the end anyway, didn’t it?”
“But you wasted two years in the process…”
“It’s really okay.”
Rembrary hesitated for a moment whether to tell the vice president of Shin-gi-ru about his time with Lumena, but he decided not to tell him for now.
“I’m fine, so live diligently now. Aren’t you from Earth? You should help people well.”
Yum-ra personally inspected the place where the Demon King was sealed and then told Sa Gam-jae about his impressions of the place.
“He said it seems close to a natural phenomenon.”
“Is that wind?”
“Why do you keep talking about the wind? I told you it’s not wind.”
“Isn’t it closer to a blizzard?”
“He said it ‘looks’ close to a natural phenomenon but isn’t typical. Just in case, grim reapers will go near there and watch the situation in shifts.”
“What should I tell Mors? He blocked the place so people can’t come. Can I ask him to release it?”
“No. Just in case, it’s better to keep humans from coming.”
Rembrary summarized Sa Gam-jae’s story and told it to Mors, and Mors said he would continue to block the area.
The lack of change was the same for good things as well as bad things, so the distance between Rembrary and Shin Jo-woon also remained unchanged.
He heard that he went to the conference, but the conference ended quickly, so he thought he would come back soon.
Contrary to expectations, the conference was longer than expected, so Rembrary couldn’t even see Shin Jo-woon’s face.
“How many days are they having the conference for?”
“In the past, you could travel quickly by plane, but it’s difficult now. It takes a long time just for representatives from each country to gather.”
Jang Tae-ri explained, but Rembrary couldn’t easily understand.
However, these things were not enough to change Rembrary’s peaceful life, so Rembrary ate, slept, played, and shook off all the fatigue at home.
The only occasional outings were to go out to eat delicious things with Jang Tae-ri, Woo Yeon-woo, Daeju, Hwa-saja, etc.
[Mr. Rembrary. This is Ki Sung-hyun.]
Ki Sung-hyun contacted him exactly one month after Rembrary returned to this world.
[It seems like Mr. Rembrary has a side effect from the treatment. About a month ago, you treated a national Hunter as a test case. Do you remember?]
“Not the milk shaved ice… the next one?”
[Milk shaved ice?]
“I remember. Why?”
