Revenge Comes with Interest 167. A Crown of Wildflowers (167/200)
167. A Crown of Wildflowers
2024.01.14.
A clear sky, a soft breeze whispering in your ear, and wildflowers blooming randomly everywhere—it was the perfect setting for a wedding.
Terrun gently helped Leia out of the wheelchair and led her to the heart of the wildflower field, where the blooms were thickest.
“Do you like this kind of wedding?” he asked, searching her face for a reaction. He still harbored the notion that women desired a fancy and extravagant wedding.
“I love it.”
Her face was bare of makeup, her hair flowed freely, and she wore a roughly fashioned flower crown. To him, she was the most beautiful bride in the world.
“Pretty,” he murmured.
“Terrun is handsome.”
Still, perhaps because it was a wedding, a subtle tension lingered on both their faces.
“Is it really okay for me to become Grace Kurtua?” she asked.
“I will gladly accept it. Terrun only has to live as my eternal man, is that okay?”
“I am honored.”
“Um, instead of a ring… let’s make a promise.” Leia held out her pinky finger to Terrun.
It was Chaner’s specialty, but strangely, making a pinky promise felt like engraving something onto your heart.
Leia and Terrun hooked their pinkies together and gazed into each other’s eyes.
“I, Grace, vow to love and respect Terrun Kurtua for the rest of my life.”
“I, Terrun, vow to love and respect Grace Kurtua for the rest of my life and to die together on the same day at the same time.”
“Uh! I don’t want to die together!”
“No choice. It’s Grace’s mistake for choosing a man like this.”
“Tch-!”
“If I die first, Grace will live happily for a long, long time. But if you die first, I’m not confident I can live alone.”
“What kind of talk is that!” Leia playfully punched him in the chest and then started to sob.
She couldn’t imagine living without Terrun. She had hated him enough to run away, but she had never forgotten him for a single moment.
Only then did she truly realize it. No matter how far she ran, her heart was tethered to him and wouldn’t even budge.
“Even when I’m old and a grandmother, love me as much as you do now.”
“You will not grow old. Because you will always live as my fairy.”
“Ugh…!”
‘My fairy, he says!’ Leia shuddered. As expected, Terrun was an expert at killing the mood with cheesy lines. How could he say such embarrassing things so casually?
‘But what can I do if I like it?’
Leia wrapped her arms around his neck, and Terrun kissed her as if he had been waiting for it. It was a kiss they had shared countless times, but this moment felt different.
A moment to promise to be husband and wife, elevated from being engaged.
It meant loving and respecting each other as lifelong partners and keeping faith.
Although the wedding was simple, the promise was as precious as gold.
Moreover, they deeply realized that sincerity was more important than formality.
“Oh my!” While kissing, Leia exclaimed in surprise.
“Why?”
“The babies are kicking.”
“Where, where?”
Perhaps jealous of their parents’ affection, the babies’ movements were clearly felt.
Terrun put his hand on Leia’s moving belly and was amazed.
He had seen many weddings in his life, but this was the first time he had witnessed such a meaningful and touching day.
“It’s a little disappointing; it would have been perfect if there was a photographer at times like this.”
“There is one over there?”
“Where?”
Leia looked around in surprise. The couple who had been getting married earlier had hired a photographer, who was already taking pictures.
Terrun left Leia for a moment and strode towards the photographer.
‘Perfect.’ Leia clasped her hands together and rejoiced.

A few days later, Leia’s house was filled with wedding photos with Terrun.
It was hard to call them wedding photos in the traditional sense, but the bride and groom in the pictures looked genuinely happy.
Sarah brought the mail while coming back from grocery shopping.
“Your Grace, a letter has arrived.” Sarah was also happy to hand over the letter that Terrun had been eagerly waiting for every day.
“Good news. Luke got Dr. Frank out of prison.”
“Really?” Leia and Sarah exclaimed at the same time.
“He says he’ll rest for a few days and come straight to Greymann. But… um.” Terrun’s expression slightly distorted as he read the letter.
“What is it?”
“Luke is asking me to find him a house. Two of them.”
“One is for Dr. Frank to stay in, but what about the other one?”
“It seems like it will be impossible for Luke to leave Chaner behind this time.”
“I guess so.”
Leia and Sarah were happy to hear that Chaner was coming, but Terrun wore a troubled expression, because she was an unpredictable being who didn’t know where she would bounce or what she would say.
“By the time Dr. Frank arrives in Greymann, you will be seven months pregnant, Miss.”
“Yeah.”
Luke wrote about Dr. Frank’s situation in the letter.
He said that he would only agree to the offer if he could go home to rest, as he had not been out of prison for long, and spend time with his family.
For now, there was no choice but to accept all of his demands. In addition, he demanded travel expenses, medical expenses, and a success bonus upon delivery.
“I can give you as much money as you want.”
It would be nice if he didn’t make absurd demands, but he said that he would tell the other condition in person when he came to Greymann.
Terrun was satisfied just with Dr. Frank coming.
“If he asks me to set up a hospital, I’ll set up a big one.”
There was no condition he couldn’t meet if Leia could give birth safely.
Luke’s letter contained a lot of news.
“A government has been established in Bertan, so they will resume the railway construction soon.”
Leia was surprised by Terrun’s words.
Allen had already spent an astronomical amount of money on the construction, so the Bertan government had to pay Empress Vivian, who bought the business rights, for the construction costs.
“That’s great.”
“Um, this is nothing much, but it seems like a vacant lot near Lebon Station is on the market.”
“Terrun! Contact our lawyer or accountant and tell them to buy it right away.”
As Leia got excited and got up from her wheelchair, Sarah tried to calm her down.
“The commercial district near Lebon Station is not very developed.”
“That’s why you should buy it. I have a plan.”
“A plan?”
“Tell them to buy it all up quickly before someone else takes it.”
“O…kay.”
It was impossible to know what was in Leia’s head.
But Sarah laughed out loud. When Leia and Terrun looked at her strangely, Sarah barely stopped laughing and opened her mouth.
“I think I know. Miss’s plan.”
“I thought so, Sarah.”
As the eyes of the two women busily went back and forth, Terrun’s face hardened.
“What is it? Can’t you include me?”
“Your Grace, think about it. Why would Miss tell you to buy land near Lebon Station? In the end, she’s thinking of making money.”
“I know that much too.”
Terrun grumbled as if he had expected it all along. The problem was how to make money with that land.
“Um, this is Miss’s plan. I’ll keep quiet.”
“Thank you, Sarah.”
“Grace, I’m your husband. How can you have secrets from me?” Terrun’s resentment exploded. Shouldn’t there be no secrets between a couple?
“Um, I’ll tell you if you send a letter to the lawyer.”
When Leia attached a condition, Terrun shook his head.
* * *
Around the time Leia was exactly seven months pregnant, Dr. Frank arrived in Greymann. Of course, Luke and Chaner were with him.
Chaner cried, laughed, and jumped around everywhere after seeing the pregnant Leia.
Even though she was a bit eccentric, seeing Chaner made her feel psychologically relieved.
“I will tell Duke Kurtua the rest of my conditions.”
Dr. Frank’s demeanor was quite particular. He was said to be a genius doctor, and his appearance was certainly distinctive.
With long hair, an untrimmed beard, and an out-of-fashion suit, he was a very individualistic person.
“Tell me. I will listen to any conditions.”
Everyone was shocked by Terrun’s gentle and kind tone.
Wasn’t he the first nobleman of Lubeck, who always maintained a high-handed and overbearing tone to everyone? But in front of Dr. Frank, he was as soft as whipped cream.
“Find out who the nobleman is who framed me and put me in prison!”
The atmosphere soon turned chilly.
This was because the nobleman whom Dr. Frank called his enemy was right in front of him. Then Chaner raised her hand and shouted.
“I know who that nobleman is!”
“Oh, Miss Chaner knows. Who is it?”
“That’s… Ugh!”
Luke’s lips covered Chaner’s babbling mouth. Unintentionally, they ended up seeing the two kissing.
“It’s Allen McDowell.”
When Sarah stepped forward and said it, everyone’s eyes were on her.
“No! How could that guy!”
“Allen McDowell is originally that kind of ××.”
Sarah took Dr. Frank out separately and complained that she had suffered badly from Allen. She even shed tears.
“Wow! You could all become actors.” Terrun smiled suspiciously at Leia’s words.
“Exclude me. I didn’t act.” Terrun shook his head and denied it.
Of course, he was planning not to reveal the truth until Leia gave birth. But he had no intention of hiding it forever.
After a while, Sarah and Dr. Frank finished talking and returned.
“Ha! To think he was such a vicious human being! I was just unlucky.” Dr. Frank complained, and Leia smiled brightly at him and said.
“Dr. Frank.”
“Yes?”
“If you help me give birth safely, Duke Kurtua will become your sponsor.”
“A… sponsor?”
“That’s right. Is there anything you want to do?”
Terrun took over Leia’s words and negotiated with Dr. Frank.
“Um, I want to set up a large plastic surgery clinic.”
“What is plastic surgery?” Leia asked with a puzzled expression.
She had already heard that Dr. Frank helps rebuild the faces of people who have been severely injured.
“It’s about recreating the face you want. Should I call it a god of medicine?”
“A god of medicine?”
