A hush fell over the room.
Martial arts, powered from the ‘dantian’ – a special place in the body, like a magical storage space – had just been shown. People were wide-eyed and speechless.
Most of those present had some doubts.
When Roman Dmitry invited the Cronos Empire, people were surprised. They didn’t think he would share something only Dmitry knew.
But the truth was shocking.
They might not want to believe it, but everything was changing. Martial arts was going to change the world.
Roman Dmitry said, “I will now take questions if anyone is curious.”
A man raised his hand from the audience.
Roman Dmitry looked at him, inviting him to speak. The man stood up.
“I am Sergei, the head of the Martial Arts Society. I was impressed by your theory. Using the dantian as a storage space for mana, like wizards, is a good idea. But, there’s a problem. How do you get mana into the dantian and keep it there? Mana is wild. You can’t just keep it in a box unless you use life force. So, is this just a dream?”
It was an aggressive question.
Sergei thought hard, trying to find something bad to say.
However,
“That’s easy to answer if you know why we use the dantian to store mana. Mana flows through the body and stays at certain points. I divide these into three places: the upper dantian, which is the brain; the middle dantian, which is the heart; and the lower dantian, below the navel. Anyone who has worked with mana knows it stays at these three points. The upper dantian isn’t good for storing mana because it affects the brain. But the lower dantian has plenty of room.”
His answer was clear.
Sergei was speechless at the logic and changed the subject.
“Then, instead of saying Emperor Alexander’s aura is wrong, why not use the dantian to make Alexander’s aura stronger? Could we combine the two?”
“No. That’s wrong from the start. Alexander’s way wastes mana by just blasting it out. That makes the aura weaker. With a dantian, you control mana perfectly. You don’t need to waste it. You can get strong aura with less mana.”
Martial arts are the result of the Central Plains martial arts world’s history.
With the ‘imitation’ created by Alexander, he couldn’t win this argument.
Sergei felt panic rising in his chest.
Thinking that the Martial Arts Society would collapse if this presentation ended, he desperately asked a question that everyone would be curious about.
“Alright! I admit it’s a great theory, but why are you telling everyone this? If it’s so good, why invite the Cronos Empire, which was recently Dmitry’s enemy?”
In that instant, Roman chuckled.
Roman Dmitry looked past Sergei towards the Cronos Empire representative and said,
“There’s no special reason. The Cronos Empire has been sending spies to find out Dmitry’s technology. So I made this presentation so they wouldn’t have to spy. Dmitry is open to everyone. Once normal soldiers learn martial arts, everyone will know about it soon anyway, just like Alexander’s aura spread. So, I hope all countries, not just Dmitry, will use and improve this new system.”
It was astonishing.
Because it was a fact that would be revealed anyway.
With a public announcement, Roman Dmitry opened a new world for everyone.
“I will end the presentation here.”
At the end of the presentation, people stood up and cheered enthusiastically.
Among the excited people was Chris.
His heart was pounding.
What started as a small tremor had become intense and uncontrollable.
“I will ask you just one thing. While reaching that realm, have you ever once questioned the training method?”
That was the day he taught Roman Dmitry about aura.
At first, he was angry at the dismissive remark. But he felt like he had been hit on the head by the question of why he blindly believed the person who created the aura, even though he was also human.
From then on, Chris constantly doubted and analyzed.
He only used Roman Dmitry’s teachings as much as he needed, developed his own skills, and created a realm that came solely from himself.
And now, his blood was boiling.
Only one person in the world, Roman Dmitry, questioned Alexander’s theory. He proved that even the story Chris thought was absurd was real.
Look at the enthusiastic people.
Like Chris in the past, they had been skeptical of Roman Dmitry’s remarks. But now that the presentation was over, they accepted that the aura system had been re-established.
He clenched his fist tightly.
An existence that leads the flow.
An existence that does what he believes is right, regardless of the trend.
That was the lord he served.
It was certain.
‘If you surpass him, that position will surely be the best on the continent.’
Roman Dmitry was Chris’s ideal, the most respected being, and the ultimate goal he wanted to overcome.
The applause faded as the Sword Arts Presentation ended.
The representatives of the Kingdom Alliance came together, Roman Dmitry among them.
After the presentation, watching Roman Dmitry’s revolutionary sword arts, the representatives of the Kingdom Alliance knew things had changed forever.
Roman Dmitry had damaged Alexandre’s fame. Everyone had seen it.
Now, for Dmitry to survive, he had to become as strong as the Cronos Empire.
Let’s be honest, Roman Dmitry,
King Umberto said. “Was this presentation just to fight Cronos? It looked like you were challenging them. We know new fighting styles spread, but if you cared about us, you would have told *us* about this first, not shown it to everyone, including Cronos. So, tell me the truth. Is the Kingdom Alliance just to help weak countries survive, or do you want something more?”
The presentation had changed everything. Roman Dmitry had taken Alexandre’s place in people’s minds.
This helped Dmitry become stronger, but it wasn’t clear how it helped the Kingdom Alliance survive.
King Umberto thought both Dmitry and Cronos were dangerous. Like animals hunting for power.
What if Dmitry beat Cronos and wanted to become an Emperor? Could the Kingdom Alliance stop him? Would they just be ruled by someone else again?
King Umberto had to ask Dmitry what he wanted. Dmitry was too powerful to ignore.
“I don’t know what you think of Dmitry,” Roman Dmitry began, “but we have never just been trying to survive.”
“We formed the Kingdom Alliance because we have the same goals.”
“You want to survive Cronos, and we want to defeat them. That’s why we are together as the Kingdom Alliance.”
“…So, will you become like Cronos?”
“If Cronos’ path is to become the strongest, then yes, that’s right. But my future plans are different from Cronos’. If Dmitry beats Cronos and becomes the strongest, we will not hurt other kingdoms or make them suffer like Cronos did. We just want Dmitry to be known as the strongest in Salamander. That’s our goal. We will respect each country’s land and help the whole continent.”
The representatives were shocked. Some gasped, others stared in disbelief.
King Umberto realized he was right about Dmitry’s ambition. And Dmitry sounded serious, not crazy.
A strong nation that doesn’t hurt others… If Dmitry is neutral and helps the continent like he says, it could be the perfect world we want.
But how can we trust you? Cronos and Valhalla were once weak kingdoms like us. Then they became strong and started hurting everyone else.
History showed that strong nations always take advantage of the weak. Because of this history, Dmitry’s words made the weaker kingdoms feel worried.
“I won’t say nice things just to please you anymore. Cronos is as powerful as they can be. Now we have to choose. If the Cronos Empire collapses, someone must take control. In the real world, everyone can’t be equal. Like King Umberto said, strong nations are like hunters. Dmitry doesn’t want to be just equal. As the strongest nation, we want to help Salamander in a better way than Cronos did. From now on, it’s about trust. Cronos or Dmitry? Depending on your choice, Dmitry will decide if the Kingdom Alliance continues. If we don’t want the same things, we shouldn’t be allies.”
He gave them a choice. It was a huge decision about the continent’s future. The representatives of the Kingdom Alliance started to worry.
Should they survive together? Or should they let Dmitry become the strongest in exchange for his help? Dmitry’s words changed everything.
They thought for a long time.
For kings of weak nations, Dmitry’s ambition was a hard thing to accept.
The silence was heavy. Then, Edwin Hector spoke, breaking the tension.
“I don’t think this presentation was just to scare Cronos,” Edwin Hector said. “Dmitry showed us he is open, not secretive. Anyone else who knew about these new fighting skills would have kept them secret to use first. But Dmitry showed them to everyone. This shows how strong Dmitry is. Dmitry will not stay just a kingdom in the future.”
Edwin Hector was right. Dmitry’s actions were planned.
Dmitry didn’t just think about one thing. He thought about all the things that could happen because of the presentation and acted on them.
“We will have to choose soon anyway,” Edwin Hector continued. “Cronos has been cruel. Dmitry, at least, is being honest with us. It’s simple. If we can’t escape Cronos’ cruelty without Dmitry, then I trust Dmitry with our future.”
He made the first move.
Daniel Cairo and King Redford agreed strongly with Edwin Hector.
“Cairo has been with Dmitry from the start. We will trust and follow Dmitry to the end.”
“If Dmitry hadn’t helped us, Redford would be gone. If we need the strongest nation to help the continent, I think it should be Dmitry.”
Their support was powerful.
Most people agreed with Dmitry. Kings Umberto and Frank had to accept it.
They weren’t just blindly following Dmitry. Edwin Hector’s words convinced them.
And so, the Kingdom Alliance was truly formed.
Meanwhile, far away…
Alexandre opened his eyes. He watched the Sword Arts Presentation on the artifact, his eyes wide with shock.
Roman Dmitry… Alexandre was stunned by his words and actions.
