Chapter 30
Rune is the language of the Aesir [a race of Norse gods], the beings that drove the abyss out of this land, where each letter holds mystical power.
According to the Six Principles of Writing (pictographs, ideographs, associative compounds, phonetic loans, derivative cognates, and rebus), which are the principles of rune formation, most things in the universe have corresponding runes.
To reach the level of a Sage, one must master all these principles and be able to combine new runes.
It is said that the difference between a 5-star and a 6-star mage is like heaven and earth, because it doesn’t end with simply creating a rune, but also finding a mathematical formula to define that rune.
‘Okay, then……’
Rain lined up several runes on the parchment on his desk and twirled his pen.
‘Yuryang Sejon [Rain’s mentor] doesn’t spoon-feed me new knowledge. He only fills in the gaps in what I already know.’
It will be a little more difficult, but I welcome it. I don’t like being spoon-fed without any effort.
‘Then let’s just combine them as they come. No, not just anything, but make them with things that make sense……’
Let’s write it down in a notebook.
Yuryang Sejon will correct any shortcomings later. He nodded in satisfaction and got up to stretch.
“Shall we go build up some stamina before curfew?”
Exercise is also important because it is the driving force behind magical growth. I can’t afford to rely on the Lord [likely referring to a magical item or ability] every time I want to use Yuryang Sejon.

Mages tend to neglect their physical fitness, so the training room provided to students at the academy is often deserted.
The usual occupants were almost always the same: members of the Slade family, representing Wing-type mages, or students from the Chaihark School.
However, the disciples of the Eight Great Schools, who knew the importance of physical strength, would visit three to four times a week to build up their strength.
“One million and twenty-one……”
Of course, the most outstanding of them was Logan, the rising star of the Chaihark School. His burly body was regularly lifting weights of up to 150 kilograms [approximately 330 pounds].
Ilin, a muscular male student who was assisting him, spoke up.
“Hey, Logan.”
“One million and twenty-two…… um?”
“Why are you hanging out with the Disaster Prince these days?”
Logan’s movement, lifting the weight with his ballooning biceps and pectorals, stopped for a moment.
“Why are you asking all of a sudden?”
Ilin glanced at the other school’s disciples and lowered his voice.
“Ah, damn it, the other schools are making fun of us.”
“?!”
“They say you got your ass kicked by the Disaster Prince and now you’re just running errands for him. They say the Chaihark School is over. That’s not true, is it?”
“Of course not, you idiot!”
“Are you sure it’s not true?”
Then, suddenly, a seductive voice joined the conversation.
The sweat-soaked body was curved with feminine charm, and the playful face was framed by sweat-soaked curly brown hair.
She approached, squatted down by Logan’s head, rested her chin on her hands, and smiled brightly.
“I thought our Logan had signed a contract to clean up Ludwig’s mess♪”
A singing voice. It was full of charm that would captivate most men, but Ilin glared at her with a wary face.
“Nora……!”
There was no one among her peers who didn’t know her name. She was the rising star of the Melev School, one of the Eight Great Schools.
The Melev School had secret magic specialized in slaughter, so it was a school that many mages avoided.
“Isn’t it? Anyone can see that Logan has succumbed to power and become a pathetic subordinate.”
But Logan calmly lifted the weight and snorted.
“You stupid bastard, you think I’m running errands for Rain Ludwig? Your thinking is so simple that your Melev is under our Chaihark.”
“Oh my.”
“This is the school’s order. Get close to Rain Ludwig, get information, and find a chance to stab him in the back.”
Then Ilin was so moved that he shed tears and applauded.
“Oh, oh! As expected, Logan! I believed in you, damn it, damn it!”
The Chaihark mages are really simple. Logan shrugged his shoulders.
“I’m just following the order. What would you idiots know?”
According to Logan’s explanation, that was the case.
Rain Ludwig was hiding his power, not caring about being called the Disaster Prince. The Ludwig family is definitely hiding something.
His goal was to find out why he was hiding it and how much real power he had.
“That’s strange~♪ Our Logan isn’t usually the type to use his head like that.”
Nora looked at the air in confusion and tapped her cheek with her finger, then nodded as if she understood.
“I’m also curious. Why hasn’t he taken the ranking test even though he has the power to blow Logan away★”
In fact, that was now a mystery for the entire school. And now, except for the Eight Great Schools, few students dared to call Rain the Disaster Prince. He was called the Personality Prince.
“In that case, Logan wouldn’t care if I crushed the Disaster Prince in the midterm exam, right?”
When Nora smiled with something sinister in it, the door to the training room opened and a black-haired beautiful boy stretched as he walked in.
The boy looked around the training room with his red eyes, then looked at them and waved happily.
“Logan, I’m here.”
Then Logan put the weight on the hook and jumped up, striding towards Rain. His face was full of smiles.
“You’re a little late today?”
“Sorry, I had something to do. You don’t have to watch me if you have something else to do.”
“Haha, are you scared? Today is the last day of the week, so it’s going to be a little tough.”
“That’s what I want. Let’s go.”
Nora, who was staring at Logan’s face as he guided Rain with a smile, burst out laughing the next moment.
“If that’s really acting, Logan should be a clown, not a mage.”

The weekly meeting of the faculty was originally just a report on routine academic schedules and special matters by the homeroom teachers of the 1st and 2nd grades on Mondays, the beginning of the week.
But this time it was different.
Just looking at the senior professors in charge of the 3rd grade graduating class on either side of President Madelia Page’s upper seat shows that. From Head Professor Marchena to Vice Professor Kyle.
“So, all the schedules for the graduating class are temporarily over.”
At Madelia’s question, Professor Kyle’s eyes shone with spirit.
“Yes. We sent them out for field practice, so we can focus on the 1st graders for a week. As always.”
Then the other 2nd and 3rd grade professors opened their mouths and talked.
“I heard this year’s 1st graders are amazing?”
“I’m looking forward to it.”
“I’m not looking forward to it, but it looks fun. Just look at the Disaster Prince, who was hiding his talent.”
Professor Iverne, who made a slip of the tongue, sensed a creepy magic and shut his mouth.
Elin, with her arms crossed, was staring at him with arrogant eyes from over there.
Elin Ludwig, she was also a professor who taught 2nd graders at the academy based on her excellent and outstanding magical talent.
“Now, now, he didn’t mean anything bad.”
When Professor Caroline smiled and mediated, Elin Ludwig snorted.
“Oh, you’re so relaxed? You better be prepared, you bastard. The teacher of the century’s genius girl mage? That title will be shattered this time.”
“Hehe, I’m looking forward to it.”
The first midterm exam of the Golden Generation……. Madelia, who was tapping the desk with her finger, frowned for a moment and stared at the distant sky.
‘If it had been the original timeline, Casena would be here too……’
As the student representative of the academy (the successor of the Page family traditionally serves as the representative, as they will become the president in the future), she might have been in the 1st grade Golden Generation…….
Madelia, who was groping through impossible fantasies in her head, nodded with a deep sigh.
“Then notify the students and summon them immediately. We will start the midterm exam today.”

The sun rose on Monday. Seeing the heat and humidity added to the spring sunshine, it seemed that this spring would end quickly.
“Haaam……”
I dragged my aching body to the classroom.
With Logan’s help, physical growth was happening quickly. I can tell without having to check the numbers with Rudien. Muscles were forming on my plump body and it was becoming firmer.
As I trudged along, I finally opened the classroom door, but strangely, there was a tense commotion.
“Is it real?”
“It’s real! Prepare now and come to the auditorium soon!”
“That’s absurd, crazy.”
It was content that I couldn’t understand. My classmates were even packing their bags and leaving the classroom one by one.
I passed them with a puzzled face and came to my seat, where Krista was also tidying up her clothes and packing a light bag.
“Hey, what’s going on?”
“They’re gathering in the auditorium for a midterm exam briefing.”
“Midterm exam? Isn’t that next week?”
When I asked, tilting my head, Krista smiled arrogantly.
“The exam schedule is originally arbitrary. The president and professors change the schedule as they please.”
“Why?”
“Why else? I guess it’s to prevent cramming.”
Gertrude Panton, who was packing her writing utensils instead of Krista, interjected with a resigned laugh.
“Two years ago, they announced the midterm exam schedule and started the exam the very next day. Huhu…….”
The very next day?
Then Rain’s eyes lit up as if he was having fun.
“Wow, the professors here are all pranksters. I like it.”
“You like it? This perverted behavior?”
“An exam is to assess your achievements so far, right? The same score should come out no matter when you take it, that’s the real skill, right?”
Krista nodded satisfactorily as if Rain was her rival.
“Hahaha! That’s right~!”
Gertrude also laughed as if agreeing, but in her heart, she frowned a hundred times.
That’s right. It’s the right thing to say, but why is he so annoying? Does that mean he’s that confident? That’s why the descendants of powerful families have no charm except for our lady.
Meanwhile, Krista, who had finished tidying up her clothes while looking in the mirror, turned around, elegantly fluttering the hem of her school uniform cloak.
“What are you doing? Let’s go quickly. You don’t know what kind of trouble you’ll get into if you’re even a little late.”
In this situation where everyone was nervous, Krista’s words and actions were full of confidence. It could be said that it was confidence born from certainty and experience in her skills.
From elementary school to middle school, she had never missed the top spot.
That record was about to be broken.
