#109.
Ella nearly stumbled, struggling to keep pace with Jerarkiel’s speed.
Had she not bitten her tongue and held on tight, she would have fallen and gotten bruised.
The Black Lion, so frantic over Chersia’s situation, was a side of him Ella hadn’t seen before.
‘How did Chersia end up in the clutches of such a wild Black Lion?’
Thinking of the angelic, kind, and gentle Chersia made her sigh involuntarily.
It was fortunate that the Black Lion was docile only around Chersia, but that could change once he reached adulthood. Black Lions were known to become unstable without specialized care as they matured. Ella clenched her fist, recalling Jerarkiel’s past episodes, when he was gradually losing control.
‘I have to protect Chersia.’
She was a child who might be suffering because of her. So, she had to protect her with all her might.
‘Damn Black Lion… I’m going to have bruises all over.’
Just as Ella was composing herself and brushing leaves off her clothes, Ivan approached quietly and spoke.
“You managed not to faint even on the Young Master’s back? Do you have some special trick?”
He meant it as a friendly question, but the response he received was icy.
“I fainted twice on the way here.”
Ella answered coldly, as if mocking him. Ivan replied with clear eyes.
“Ah, so you have a secret to not getting kicked by his hind legs even after fainting…”
At the continued nonsense, Ella gave him a cold glare and quickly walked towards Chersia.
“Gee, why don’t you tell me the secret before you go?”
Ivan, left alone, joked and then trotted after Ella.

As Ayla had promised, she finished off Kanehri in 10 seconds and dusted off her hands. I stared blankly at Ayla.
Her skill in subduing a mad dog perfectly without wrinkling her clothes was truly a masterpiece.
I hadn’t realized it because she was always by my side, but she was indeed a knight of Jabishi [a region or order known for its skilled warriors] with impressive abilities.
“Ayla, you’re so cool…!”
When I gave her a double thumbs-up with admiring eyes, Ayla blushed and became shy.
“Oh, gee, I didn’t want to show you this side of me.”
“No! It’s so cool.”
When I clapped with sparkling eyes, Ayla’s fists trembled.
At that moment, Kanehri, who had fainted for a while, seemed to regain consciousness and said, covered in dust.
“Kuh, this is the first time a female beastkin has beaten me up like this. It’s frustrating, but I have to admit it!”
He had just woken up from fainting, but his manner of speaking was arrogant. Ayla seemed to think the same, as she retorted with a look of disdain.
“I don’t particularly want your recognition?”
“Oh, the haughty attitude of not wanting others’ recognition is also very attractive!”
“Chersia, is that beastkin perhaps lacking upstairs?” [referring to his intelligence]
“Surprisingly, there’s nothing wrong with his head.”
Ayla clicked her tongue at my answer. I pretended not to notice her muttering, “Is it because he’s a mutt?”
There were many smart dogs among mutts, but Kanehri didn’t seem to be one of them.
Besides, Kanehri was clearly a love-at-first-sight type. The way he looked at Ayla was even more sparkling than before.
Seeing how he talked about marriage after getting beaten by me last time, that might be his preference.
Of course, it was different from Jerarkiel in that he was attracted to strong power.
At that moment, Kanehri said.
“From what I see, you were tracking that officiant earlier. How about making a deal with me?”
“A deal? What do you want to trade?”
Ayla hid me behind her and growled. She was ready to end his life if he tried to trade me.
But Kanehri’s interest was no longer in me.
“Don’t worry, I’m not interested in that cotton ball-sized weasel anymore.”
Gee, thanks.
Not that I ever wanted your attention.
It was when I was looking at Kanehri with cold eyes. He seemed to be instructing his subordinate, and the subordinate brought a bundle.
“It’s the luggage that the guy who ran away earlier was carrying. I had it as a trophy. I’ll give it to you if you become my wife!”
That damn trophy.
He was obsessed with the carriage, so he seemed to be a guy with a strong desire to collect things.
But Kanehri was wrong. If he was going to trade with that thing, he should have hidden it tightly.
Ayla said, loosening her hands.
“I can just take it, so why bother trading?”
“Huh?”
“I’m not interested in males weaker than me.”
“Then how about being cute? You know mutts are originally cute, right?”
“I don’t know. You might have to be born again.”
Kanehri wore a dumbfounded expression at Ayla’s iron wall [an unyielding defense].
Ayla was weak to cute things, but Kanehri was a muscular type far from being cute.
Ayla gestured with her hand as if she was about to rush at him again.
“If you hand it over willingly, I’ll spare your life.”
“Then I have no choice.”
Kanehri, who was in danger of being beaten again, handed over the bundle nicely. Fortunately, he wasn’t reckless without thinking.
It was around the time Ayla began to shake the bundle on the floor without hesitation.
“Why is it so cold?”
I suddenly felt a chill and rubbed my arms. I had a feeling that something very dangerous was about to happen.
And my hunch was confirmed as soon as I saw Jerarkiel appear in front of me in the blink of an eye.
Jerarkiel said, looking at Kanehri.
“Are you that damn dog beastkin?”
At that very moment, a murderous aura swirled as if he would draw his sword at any moment.
“Jerarkiel?”
Who is that?
I doubted my eyes when I saw Kanehri’s eyes becoming very gentle from the front.
His face had become as gentle as a Maltese.
A voice that was quite different from when he faced me or Ayla.
He was wagging his tail without hiding how happy he was, just like a mutt.
“Don’t you remember me?”
“Who are you?”
“It’s Ken. Kanehri.”
“I don’t know anyone like that.”
As Jerarkiel didn’t seem to recognize him at all, Kanehri became impatient and took off his top, saying.
“Didn’t Jerarkiel leave this scar too?”
Hey, he’s your benefactor.
With that kind of scar, isn’t he an enemy who tried to kill you, not a benefactor?
I was lost in thought, staring at the scar that greatly crossed Kanehri’s abdomen.
But what was unexpected was that Jerarkiel recognized Kanehri as soon as he saw the scar on his abdomen.
“Ah, I remember. You’re that mutt from back then.”
“Yes! I knew you would remember me.”
Kanehri raised his voice, moved that Jerarkiel remembered him.
“If Jerarkiel hadn’t hit me with pheromones back then, I would have died from pheromone shock.”
Ah, so that’s how that scar happened.
The poison of Jabishi was a superior pheromone, so it had the effect of paralyzing other pheromones. It had a 10 percent chance of calming pheromone shock, and Kanehri seemed to be that lucky man.
I glanced at Jerarkiel. Judging from his expression, it didn’t seem like he was trying to save him.
He must have been annoyed by the dog going crazy in front of him and tried to cut him down.
At that moment, Jerarkiel smiled brightly and muttered eerily.
“Yeah. But how dare such a guy aim for my wife?”
“Ah, I did think about it for a moment, but not anymore.”
“You thought about it for a moment?”
Jerarkiel’s smile deepened even more. A jet-black sword made of pheromones emitted a gruesome light from his grasp.
‘Please shut that mouth, Kanehri.’
I tried to stop Kanehri by conveying my meaning with my eyes. But he had a knack for hastening his death.
He blurted out with a very innocent face.
“Yes. After all, it was the first time a weasel had kicked my jaw so refreshingly, even if I was off guard.”
May the deceased rest in peace.
I offered Kanehri, who had delivered the final blow, a silent bow of condolence. And before I could even raise my head, the spot where Kanehri had been was deeply dug.
It was because Jerarkiel had swung his sword. Fortunately, Kanehri had quickly dodged it.
Even in this situation, Kanehri admired the spot where he had been.
“You’re still so cool!”
That guy might really be lacking something.
