How to Protect the Heroine’s Older Brother – Episode 11

“I smell blood on you.”
After leaving Jeremy and Charlotte, Roxana headed to the underground prison.
Cassis, who had been carefully watching her since she entered, suddenly spoke quietly.
Roxana flinched at his words.
As he said, there was blood on her hands and clothes from her encounter with Charlotte in the hallway.
*To smell it again? His sense of smell is extraordinary.*
Roxana looked up at Cassis, a subtle feeling washing over her.
“It’s nothing. You don’t have to worry about it.”
Cassis frowned slightly at her curt reply, but she couldn’t tell him the truth.
*If she said she’d been fighting with her sister, he would become even more wary of her, especially knowing the blood wasn’t hers.*
But making up a reason was equally annoying. Besides, Cassis probably couldn’t see properly right now, so it should be okay to ignore it.
*If I had known this would happen, I would have gone to my room to wipe off the blood and change my clothes.*
Thinking that, Roxana spoke.
“I won’t be able to come for a while.”
At Roxana’s words, Cassis silently stared in her direction.
The number of times they had met in the underground prison had become quite frequent.
The figure of a slender girl was visible in his field of vision, which was a little brighter than the day before.
Everything was still faint, so only the outline of her face and body could barely be seen. He couldn’t even discern the source of the bloody smell.
“Not that long, just a few days.”
*Could it be that this girl, who revealed her name as Roxana, was hurt somewhere?*
Cassis was not in a position to worry about her, nor was their relationship one that warranted concern.
But the thought that the source of the strong bloody smell stimulating his senses was this young girl made him feel uneasy.
He turned his gaze as if examining her condition.
*Not being able to see and directly assess the situation was quite inconvenient.*
“So, take care until we meet again. I’m a little worried because there will be no one to help you if you need it while I’m gone.”
A calm and gentle voice, as always.
Cassis hoped he would be able to see her face when they met next time.

Two days later, she heard that Charlotte had knocked out the prison guard and forcibly entered the underground prison.
As if that wasn’t enough, Charlotte attacked Cassis Fedelian and injured him.
“Hmph.”
*As expected.*
Roxana was leisurely drinking tea with poison when she heard the news from Emily and thought indifferently.
Charlotte had charged at her on the day of the grand banquet over the ownership of the toy, but ultimately suffered a miserable defeat.
She couldn’t get Cassis and was even overpowered by Roxana, so there was no way Charlotte’s personality would allow her to stay still, even if she was angry.
Besides, Jeremy must have been fueling Charlotte from the side.
From the moment Jeremy seemed to be in a bad mood when he came out of the banquet hall that day, Roxana had somewhat guessed his future actions.
In the midst of all this, Jeremy even tried to send her away first and stay alone with Charlotte, so it would have been stranger if she hadn’t predicted what would happen next.
As expected, Charlotte was not willing to leave the toy that she could not have entirely alone.
But either way, what she did was just a tantrum.
When they first brought Cassis, their father, Lant Agriche, temporarily reserved his decision and ordered them not to touch him for a while.
So, no matter how blinded by anger Charlotte was, there was no way she could kill Cassis unless she wanted to directly disobey her father’s orders and be disposed of.
So, Charlotte touched Cassis with the mindset of, *’I can’t eat it anyway, so let’s poke it.’*
Of course, she would be greatly scolded by her father just for that, but she clearly thought it was worth it to ruin the toy that would be Roxana’s.
But considering that, Cassis’s injuries were less severe than she thought.
*She thought at least one of his arms or legs would be torn off, so she thought she would have to use a suture spell later. Did Charlotte spare herself more than I expected?*
Roxana lowered her gaze, feeling a little disappointed.
“In addition, I heard that Lady Charlotte accidentally ruptured the prisoner’s restraints and was almost counterattacked. It seems that she will receive additional punishment for that as well.”
“What?”
At Emily’s words, Roxana paused, her hand holding the teacup still.
*This was an unexpected situation.*
Restraint rupture?
Charlotte, of all people, broke the restraints for great demons, which are famous for their durability, and that too while attacking Cassis, due to a simple mistake?
“Interesting.”
*There’s no way. It was clear that Cassis Fedelian had used some trick.*
It’s true that Charlotte is somewhat careless and hot-tempered, but for her to make a mistake and break the restraints at such a coincidental moment was impossible.
In Roxana’s opinion, it seemed that Cassis had deliberately and skillfully used Charlotte.
Of course, she may be overestimating him, but even so, he was the heir to Fedelian, who even had the nickname ‘Blue Noble’. Even setting aside the title of the heroine’s older brother.
Roxana placed the teacup on the table without a sound.
*It seemed better to visit Cassis after a little more time had passed.*

“Sister, did you hear about Charlotte?”
“If it’s about the underground prison, I heard.”
That evening, Jeremy came to Roxana’s room.
He clung to her as usual and acted spoiled, then brought up the story about Charlotte in a subtle voice.
Charlotte was sentenced to 20 days of confinement in the punishment room.
Lant Agriche seemed even more angry that Charlotte had disobeyed his orders and entered the underground prison without permission, and that she had foolishly broken Cassis’s restraints.
Roxana was quite satisfied with this result.
“It seems like the toy is a bit broken, don’t you have to go see it?”
Jeremy’s voice became even more subtle. His deep blue eyes stared at her intently.
Roxana thought it was fortunate that Jeremy didn’t resemble Lant Agriche much, except for his black hair.
*If his appearance reminded me of my father, I might have unconsciously expressed repulsion when facing him so closely.*
“It’s not a big scratch, so why bother.”
Roxana stroked Jeremy’s hair and continued lazily.
“I don’t like that Charlotte touched it, but she’ll be punished by Father anyway, so there’s no need for me to step in.”
Knowing that Jeremy was trying to probe her about Cassis’s condition, Roxana deliberately showed an indifferent reaction.
“Hmph, is that so?”
Realizing that Roxana had no intention of checking on Cassis’s condition, Jeremy seemed to be in a better mood, even though he pretended not to be.
Jeremy, who had a clearer smile than before, spoke again.
“Sister, from now on, should I prevent Charlotte from approaching the underground too?”
It was clear that Jeremy was the one who instigated Charlotte to enter the underground prison.
But now, he was expressing his intention to take the lead in stopping Charlotte for her sake.
From Roxana’s perspective, who knew all the truth, it was quite amusing.
“Just leave her alone. If she values her life, she’ll take care of herself. I won’t tolerate it twice either.”
Of course, Charlotte wouldn’t be able to go near Cassis for a while because she was in the punishment room.
“Jeremy, you won’t touch my toys like Charlotte, will you?”
Roxana whispered gently in a kind tone, stroking Jeremy’s smooth hair.
“You’re my only precious, good brother.”
At that moment, Jeremy paused. But it was only for a fleeting moment.
Soon, he smiled at her nonchalantly and replied.
“Of course. I won’t do anything that Sana sister hates.”
* * *
“Charlotte, that pathetic thing.”
Jeremy left Roxana’s room and muttered irritably as he walked down the hallway.
It was one thing to ruin a finished meal, but to do such a moronic thing even after he had set the stage for her. At the very least, she should have made that bastard a cripple.
But instead of doing that, she accidentally broke the restraints and was almost counterattacked. She was nothing but a disgrace to Agriche.
“She should just be disposed of.”
His icy eyes shone coldly.
Jeremy still wanted to kill Cassis Fedelian, who was trapped underground.
But he could no longer touch Roxana’s toys, even indirectly.
He had even heard Roxana say that he was her ‘only precious brother’, so it was impossible for Jeremy to do anything that would betray her trust any further.
*Damn it, what is this frustrating but satisfying feeling?*
Jeremy scratched the back of his head roughly with a strange feeling and headed to his room.
