When asked to write the alphabet in order, Rosette wrote down the letters without hesitation.
Suspecting she might have memorized the sequence, I called out letters randomly and asked her to write them down, but again, she didn’t hesitate.
Even if she had memorized it all, there should have been some hesitation, but Rosette showed no such signs.
“How can you…”
As I muttered to myself, Rosette, who was writing letters with her lips pursed, looked up and smiled.
“I told you I memorized it all.”
“You really memorized it?”
“Yes!”
Rosette didn’t stop there and wrote a few simple words in her notebook: book, pencil, butterfly, flower, and so on. They were short words, but it was amazing. Mrs. Neuer held Rosette’s notebook and groaned.
“How did you memorize this all by yourself?”
“I just copied what’s in the book.”
That wasn’t wrong. In the past, Rosette had learned words by looking at books alone, driven by Marquis Dallas.
However, Rosette’s words were simply shocking to Mrs. Neuer. She hesitated a little, wondering whether she should praise Rosette for her diligent preparation or gently caution her.
‘Being diligent is good, but isn’t she pushing herself too hard?’
However, she couldn’t help but praise the child who looked up as if expecting something.
“Well done.”
Mrs. Neuer gently stroked Rosette’s hair and added.
“But you shouldn’t overdo it.”
“I’m not overdoing it. I find it fun.”
“That’s a relief then.”
Rosette rolled her eyes, as she often did, and looked at Mrs. Neuer.
‘Is that all there is to it?’
She received praise, but no matter how she looked at it, Mrs. Neuer seemed very surprised. It didn’t seem like a big deal.
‘Did I do something wrong?’
Rosette felt uneasy throughout the lesson, hoping she wouldn’t be scolded.

After the lesson, Mrs. Neuer went straight to Duke Adrian to report the amazing fact she had discovered.
Duke Adrian, who was processing documents, stopped everything and greeted her.
“So, how is Rosette’s lesson going?”
The corners of Duke Adrian’s lips twitched at Mrs. Neuer’s answer. However, he quickly controlled his expression and asked again.
“In what way?”
“Everything about her is amazing. She seems to be the most intelligent student I’ve ever taught, perhaps even more so than Prince Daniel.”
Duke Adrian put down his quill and listened attentively.
“More than Daniel?”
In the past, Mrs. Neuer had taught Daniel and admired his extraordinary mind. She had said similar things back then.
Mrs. Neuer belatedly looked at Duke Adrian and continued her explanation.
“Yes. She mastered the alphabet in just two days. Not only did she master it, but she also read words without hesitation and even wrote simple words.”
Duke Adrian nodded as if telling her to continue.
“In addition, her passion for learning is tremendous. At this rate, she will soon be able to acquire the knowledge that princesses her age should have.”
Mrs. Neuer, having finished speaking with conviction, once again gauged the Duke’s mood.
The fact that Duke Adrian cherished Rosette was already widely known throughout the mansion. However, a biological child and an adopted daughter could not be the same.
‘What if he’s upset that I said she’s better than Prince Daniel?’
However, contrary to her worries, Duke Adrian chuckled. There was no sign of displeasure. On the contrary, he looked like a father happy to brag about his child.
“I’m glad she’s keeping up well. Please continue to take care of her.”
“But, Your Grace.”
“What is it? Is there a problem?”
“Well…”
Mrs. Neuer hesitated before opening her mouth.
“It’s good that the Princess has a high enthusiasm for learning, but it seems a bit excessive.”
“Excessive?”
“She has been preparing words in advance, even though I didn’t specifically instruct her to do so.”
The Duke, who had unconsciously smiled contentedly, hardened his face at Mrs. Neuer’s serious expression.
“Is that bad?”
“No, it’s not bad. If I had to compare it to good or bad, it’s closer to the good side. It’s better than Prince Lucas skipping class and running away.”
“Hmm, that’s true.”
“However, how should I put it? The Princess seemed anxious.”
“Anxious about what?”
“It seemed like she felt pressured to learn quickly.”
Duke Adrian erased his smile and fell into thought. Come to think of it, Rosette had asked him when she first came to the mansion.
-What should I do now?
It was as if she thought she had to do something.
Duke Adrian didn’t take it seriously at the time and told her to do nothing and become chubby.
But looking back, Rosette diligently ate every meal to keep that promise.
She seemed to enjoy eating, but sometimes she seemed to have a sense of duty to ‘become chubby’.
Also, she said this to Isabel, who opposed her adoption.
-I can do magic well too. If I learn magic, I can take care of Isabel’s hair, and also, uh, also, I can keep the tea warm! So please don’t hate me too much.
Looking back, it wasn’t something to simply brush over.
“Is she feeling pressured?”
“To be honest, I think so. I have taught several children who were adopted into noble families, and they all felt pressured to adapt well. Lady Rosette seems to be particularly severe among them.”
“I tried not to put pressure on her, but why is that? Do you know the reason?”
“Well…”
Mrs. Neuer hesitated for a moment before answering uncertainly.
“Perhaps it’s just her natural personality.”
“I understand. You may leave now.”
“Yes.”
After Mrs. Neuer left, Duke Adrian couldn’t concentrate on the documents.
No parent would dislike hearing that their beloved child is a genius. Duke Adrian was also pleased with the genius that Rosette showed.
‘But Rosette shouldn’t feel pressured.’
He eventually called his aide and asked.
“Where is Rosette now?”
* * *
Around the time Duke Adrian was looking for Rosette, Rosette was in the study with Melody, taking a magic lesson.
They took basic lessons separately, but the two children decided to take magic lessons together.
This was because Rosette strongly insisted, and Celine also agreed, saying, ‘It’s good because learning efficiency will increase if we learn together.’
“We’re taking classes together from today, Melody.”
Rosette whispered, holding Melody’s hands tightly.
For the past month, Melody had been living with her brother, Joseph Oser, in the quarters where the employees of the Adrian mansion lived.
However, thanks to coming to the main mansion from time to time and hanging out with Rosette, the two children became very close.
Joseph was horrified, saying, ‘How can the young lady and Melody be friends? I will control Melody!’, but Duke Adrian said it was okay.
This was because Rosette was very happy to have a friend her age.
Melody, whose cheeks had gained a little weight over the past month, smiled shyly.
“Okay. But I’m a little worried. What if the teacher is scary?”
“It’s okay. Celine is kind and nice.”
“Uh-huh.”
The two children were chatting when Celine came in.
“Okay, do you both know who I am?”
With that, the first class began. Celine sat Rosette and Melody at the desk and wrote her name on the blackboard.
“Yes, Celine.”
“…”
Unlike Rosette, who answered brightly, Melody pursed her lips tightly. She was shy. Celine smiled kindly at the child and started the lesson.
“Okay, now we’re going to learn from the very basics. The most basic lesson in magic starts with feeling mana [magical energy residing within a person].”
Celine winked at Rosette.
“Of course, Lady Rosette is already excellent, but it’s good to start with a solid foundation.”
“Yes, Celine.”
Celine chuckled lightly.
“Okay. Shall we start now?”
Celine boldly skipped the theory and went straight into practice. The reason was that it would be pointless to explain complicated theories to eight-year-olds.
She put her palm on the children’s flat lower abdomen and moved the mana directly. Rosette was calm, but Melody flinched and avoided Celine’s hand at the unfamiliar sensation of mana.
“It’s okay. It may feel strange at first, but you’ll get used to it soon.”
Celine, who comforted Melody, praised Rosette this time.
“The mana core [the center of magical energy within a person] is very well established. How could you have done this alone? If you take lessons and train with me, your mana core will become bigger and stronger.”
“Yes, Celine.”
Rosette’s cheeks flushed slightly. That’s how the two-hour class was coming to an end.
“If the class is over, can I talk to Rosette for a moment?”
The door opened and Duke Adrian came in.
“Dad!”
Rosette ran to him with a bright expression, and he lifted her up.
After the carriage accident, Rosette felt that she had become much closer to Duke Adrian. She also realized that he had truly become her father.
“What brings you here?”
“I came to see Rosette.”
Duke Adrian gestured lightly to Celine and left the study with Rosette in his arms. Rosette was puzzled but remained quietly in his arms.
Duke Adrian walked down the hallway and asked.
“How is the class going? Mrs. Neuer told me you seem to be keeping up well.”
Rosette’s face, which was already reddish, became even redder. Rosette, who was somehow embarrassed, lowered her head and mumbled.
“It’s fun. And I’m working hard.”
The Duke, who had already entered the garden, sat Rosette on the swing. Rosette was still hanging her head and dangling her legs.
“But Rosette, aren’t you pushing yourself too hard?”
“Pushing myself?”
“Yes. I heard you mastered the letters in just two days and did a lot of preparation.”
Rosette blurted out her wish.
“I want to become someone who fits into the Adrian family soon!”
“I don’t know why you’re saying that.”
Duke Adrian stroked Rosette’s hair.
“You are already a wonderful Adrian.”
