MH Exploration Project (1)
Recently, a tremendous amount of funds had been flowing in.
Naturally, it was from the sales of androids, and the question of whether money laundering was even necessary anymore was being raised.
However, it was something that had to be done eventually. Even with the influx of funds, there was no reason to leave the money under the names of my affiliated black mages.
In the end, I had to absorb it all, and it was better to devise various methods for money laundering if possible.
If I were to recruit a black mage with influence in political circles, I could even launder money in that country.
Things had become bigger, but this was what I had intended.
I felt that Earth was too small.
The desire to resume dimensional trading and personally conquer other worlds was increasingly emerging.
It didn’t start this way.
I only thought about the convenience of my family and just wanted to live without worrying about money.
I had to admit it at this point.
Having gained enough power to control the world, I was becoming more and more greedy.
“Chairman.”
Han Yu-ram had been moving busily as I was acquiring companies at an incredible rate these days.
Perhaps because of that, Han Yu-ram’s eyes were full of dark circles.
“You’re here?”
“Could I take a day off tomorrow?”
“Why?”
“I want to sleep. I can’t remember the last time I had a proper sleep. Chief Lee also said it. We’re trapped in a Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday-Friday-Friday-Friday cycle.”
“Thanks to that, your position has risen, and you have considerable power, right?”
“I still want to sleep. I don’t think I need power.”
Somehow, her words seemed filled with earnestness. In that case, I couldn’t just stand by as her superior.
“Okay! Wake up late tomorrow, have lunch, and then come to work!”
“Huh! Is it just a half-day!?”
“What can I do? When you see the company growing so rapidly, you shouldn’t be saying things like that, right?”
“Ugh.”
She wore a very aggrieved expression.
She wouldn’t have come just to ask for a half-day off; she had another purpose for coming.
“Oh my, what’s my fate? I heard you’re doing some kind of exploration project this time?”
“To be exact, it’s a treasure island exploration.”
“Why are you exploring a treasure island when you have so much money?”
“Ah, didn’t you hear from Chief Lee?”
“I’ve been too busy with documents lately.”
“It’s for money laundering.”
“Gasp!”
Han Yu-ram was also a smart person.
Guessing what I had and the current situation, she roughly figured out how I was trying to launder money.
“…Treasure ship exploration wasn’t the main point?”
“Of course not. Even if a treasure ship is really discovered now, it’s just small change. I’m trying to find a means for money laundering.”
“You have a genius-like mind for bad things.”
“I guess that’s my calling.”
I smiled.
Han Yu-ram sighed deeply.
She was already busy enough, but if money laundering tasks were added, it was obvious that it would be a truly murderous workload.
But she was just an employee and couldn’t go against the chairman’s orders.
“I found a suitable place.”
“Where is it?”
“It’s called MH Exploration Project, and it used to only do treasure ship explorations. But is that easy these days? They hit a few jackpots, but eventually, due to financial difficulties, they started various underwater explorations and ship rental businesses. That was 30 years ago, and the business has been surprisingly successful, growing into a mid-sized company that operates large exploration vessels, fishing boats, and even trading ships. But the president there says he wants to quit now.”
“The business?”
“Yes. He’s planning to sell all of his shares and retire.”
“Is the business not doing well?”
“That could be a reason. The ship rental business is also on a downward curve now.”
“Well, if we acquire it, it could be useful in connection with maritime trade.”
“That’s why I’m recommending it.”
The president of MH wasn’t selling because the business was really difficult.
He simply put the company up for sale because he wanted to rest.
As someone who was also in business, I knew how difficult that decision was.
“Let’s call right away.”
“Yes.”
I made a call on the spot.
The president of MH seemed to have been waiting for the call.
-Oh! It’s Chairman Lee Yoo-sung, whose reputation precedes him!
“How did you know it was me?”
-Secretary Han told me. She said the call would come around this time. Since it’s my personal phone, you’re the only one who would call, Chairman Lee.
It was a truly welcoming tone.
It seemed like it would be easy.
With so much money these days, there was no need to pick a failing company while nitpicking.
If possible, acquire a decent company in a big deal.
MH Exploration Project would also be acquired in a big deal.
“Secretary Han must have told you the general story. I want to acquire your company.”
-Of course! It’s possible!”
“When Secretary Han brought me the data, it meant that the audit of your company was over. So, I’d like to negotiate the price, but would it be okay to negotiate here without me going there?”
-Hahaha! Of course. I’m not so clueless as to keep a busy person like you with idle talk. Do you have a rough price in mind?”
“I heard it’s around 500 million dollars.”
-Yes! Let’s do the M&A [Mergers and Acquisitions] at that price!
“Aren’t you going to negotiate?”
-You’ve offered a reasonable price, so trying to negotiate here would be a shallow trick, wouldn’t it? That’s enough compensation.”
“What compensation?”
-The price for my lifetime of work.”
He was a straightforward person.
Most people tried to get as much money as possible. I also thought that was an inevitable part of human nature.
That would be the same for the other party.
Being able to suppress that should be seen as that person’s true nature.
“I’ll send a working-level employee.”
-Oh, there’s no need to go to the trouble! I’m already in Japan for work, so I’ll visit you tomorrow!
“I would appreciate it if you would.”
-I’ll hang up now!
I hung up and looked at Han Yu-ram.
She shrugged her shoulders.
“He’s a decisive person.”
“It’s not just decisiveness; it’s like he’s been waiting to be sold.”
“He says his dream is to retire as soon as possible and travel the world until he dies. He even has the goal of seeing the world’s famous attractions with his own eyes.”
“That’s a wonderful dream.”
“It also coincides with my dream. Have you thought about your retirement, Chairman?”
“Retirement?”
I had learned black magic and surpassed the limits of humans.
Perhaps I could live for over 200 years unless something particularly dangerous happened and I had an accident.
If I’m lucky enough to reach a higher level than now, I might become a monster who can live for almost 500 years or more.
It was too early to talk about retirement.
“How can you think about retirement already? You’re only in your mid-30s.”
“Hehe, that’s true.”
I shared a few stories with Han Yu-ram and sent her out.
Then I decided to think about how to specifically launder money.
I spent several hours thinking about money laundering methods and made a rough plan.
First of all, after acquiring the exploration company, I was planning to hold a press conference.
Since I had the rights to the British Seun Line anyway, there was an official way to launder money, so it didn’t matter.
Hiding it would only backfire.
For Lisa and the British, the rights to the Seun Line were just a good-sounding justification, but for Koreans, it wasn’t.
If something was done with a little force overseas, it was the nature of the Korean media to blow things up.
From the perspective of promoting patriotism, it was worth encouraging, but in most cases, they would mislead the public with unnecessary meddling or false information.
In any case, the public itself was very interested in such matters, so it would be known in a short time even if I tried to hide it.
Rather than that, I would declare the exploration of the Seun Line through a press conference to give the impression that there was nothing to hide.
Given my past record, securing the Seun Line would not be suspicious.
I had worked hard to find the Turtle Ship [Korean warship] for a long time but had failed in all of the Yi Sun-sin [Korean admiral] projects, so people would rather have expectations.
After that, I would pretend to explore for a few days and then salvage the Seun Line.
After inserting the prepared antiques, I would sell them. The sale would first take place to Kalvan and Lucain.
The antiques would be traded at a tremendous price.
For now, the price of the antiques would be kept secret. There was no point in disclosing it.
But if it was disclosed, it couldn’t be helped. The plan was perfect, and the rights would have been transferred to me, so there was no problem.
I was preparing to leave work when Lee Seul-gi came in.
“Chairman! This document has arrived. It’s from a law firm?”
“Ah, really?”
I opened the envelope and checked the contents.
It was a document stating that the procedure for the transfer of rights to the Seun Line had been completely completed.
The rights to the Seun Line had been transferred from Lisa to me.
As the lawyer in charge had said, it could be transferred without much difficulty because Lisa and I were a couple.
“Good. The stage is set.”
“The stage is set?”
“I can start exploring.”
“Hoo. Finally, the money laundering is starting.”
“Don’t worry. We have considerable power.”
Producing 100,000 androids for filming a movie and pushing them into one place.
This could be a considerable show of force.
Especially, the United States and Russia were bound to be horrified.
“Even if I get caught laundering money, no one can openly say anything to me, right?”
“That’s like a statement from the leader of a villainous organization.”
“It’s not wrong.”
Was it the influence of black magic?
The desire for conquest was smoldering.
There was no need to conquer Earth, and when the other world opened, I intended to wage war under the pretext of dimensional trade.
Lee Seul-gi also felt that.
“Are you going to conquer the other world?”
“Why not? Originally, opening a port starts with conquest.”
“Looking at you now, it seems like it’s not just a conquest for opening a port, but a conquest for occupation and domination.”
“Well, shouldn’t I?”
“Uh…”
Lee Seul-gi tilted her head.
With this much power, there was no reason not to conquer the other world and put it under my feet.
When she thought about it, she had no reason to object either.
“That’s right! I don’t think it matters since it’s not Earth. If I conquer it there, will you give me a position too?”
“Work hard. Then you might become a powerful person.”
“This gives me even a small hope.”
We looked at each other and smiled slyly.
