Making a Scene Properly (1)
On the way back to Seoul.
I was heading to Yangjae-dong with all 30 of my Undead loaded up.
I was going to meet with Chairman Yoon Yong-gu of NK and settle things once and for all. It wasn’t that difficult. Somehow break in and get him to sign the construction abandonment agreement, and that would be the end of it.
This was something I was doing assuming that H Group was behind me. No matter how capable I was, I couldn’t do something like this without backing.
Clearly, when Chief Han Cheol-soo asked me to handle the matter, it meant that he could overlook most things.
What if things went wrong?
I would maintain the justification of self-defense at all costs.
Only retaliate when the gangsters strike first. This would also be documented, and as long as I had that justification, the worst that could happen would be a charge of intimidation? I have no prior convictions, so if I emphasize that they sent as many as 150 people to obstruct business and use violence, I might get a fine if I’m unlucky. Most of the time, it would probably end with a suspension of indictment.
I was thinking all of this, but Lee Seo-kyung was biting her nails and looking anxious.
“Are you sure this is going to be okay?”
“What do you mean?”
“What you’re trying to do is close to a crime.”
“Well, I guess so. But they were the ones who mobilized as many as 150 gangsters to try to lynch me. I was just subcontracted to do construction.”
“That’s different, though….”
“They probably can’t report it recklessly. Not as long as H Group is backing me.”
“Wow! You really think Chief Han Cheol-soo will protect you?”
“I’m 90% sure.”
Clap clap clap clap!
Lee Seo-kyung clapped like a seal.
But soon her expression turned dark again.
Why is this person so inconsistent? Is this really the same Lee Seo-kyung I knew? Maybe I’ve peeled away a layer of her heart.
“To think you’ve thought this through so thoroughly… You’re really meticulous.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes. Usually, people would be flustered and wouldn’t think of confronting it head-on and thinking this far ahead. Besides, you’re doing this after thinking everything through, right?”
“Haha! That’s the basics.”
“So, I’m saying you’re amazing. I can only imagine how difficult it is to put that into action.”
“Oh, is that so? Heh. I’m just a little fearless.”
No. Actually, I’m very afraid.
This is like a trauma that came about after getting married and having children, an emotion that arose from knowing that my family would collapse if I died.
If it weren’t for black magic, would I have even dared to think of taking such a hit? It was the same now.
It’s only because I have strong backing, even if it’s just for this one time, that I can do this.
Lee Seo-kyung probably thinks I’ve completely lost my nerve and that my liver has grown out of my stomach, so that’s why she’s saying this.
“I’m so anxious just watching….”
“More importantly, why did Director Lee follow me?”
“I had some business in Seoul. I’m just following you while I’m at it. Actually, it’s also because I thought something might happen….”
I shrugged my shoulders.
Of course, it was certain that something would happen.
In front of NK Group headquarters.
Perhaps because it was a company that claimed to be a large corporation, the building was disgustingly tall.
They say those who have nothing are the ones who show off more. As far as I knew, NK Group wasn’t that great of a company.
The 30 Undead were displaying their might in front of the company.
The sight of them all wearing masks was quite intimidating, and they were wearing vests with the phrase ‘Cleaning Specialists, We Wipe Everything Clean’ written on them.
I took a deep breath.
“Shall we begin?”
“Wait a minute!”
“What’s wrong?”
Lee Seo-kyung grabbed me.
Her eyes were still shaking, and it seemed like I was about to do something big. I wasn’t trying to do anything that enormous, though.
But Lee Seo-kyung’s thoughts seemed to be different.
“You’re trying to threaten the chairman, right?”
“Rather than threatening, I’m trying to make a recommendation.”
“Ah… That sounds like the same thing.”
“It’s okay. You can quietly follow behind me if you get caught.”
“The police aren’t going to show up and make a fuss, are they?”
“I don’t think so? A gangster has his pride; he wouldn’t call the police here, would he? Hehe.”
I had calculated everything to some extent.
They did something too, would they recklessly call the police? Not a chance.
I confidently led the Undead into the company.
Because it was a group that claimed to be a company, there were some large men who looked like gangsters, but there were also many ordinary employees.
They glanced at us once when we appeared.
“Looks like today is building cleaning day.”
“I guess so. With that many people, it must be a full building cleaning?”
The employees thought we were just people from a cleaning company.
However, we were stopped at the ID card scanner.
A huge man wearing a black suit like a nightclub bouncer was standing there, and his buzz-cut hair made him look like a 깍두기 [kkakdugi, cubed radish kimchi].
That’s why they call gangsters 깍두기 [kkakdugi].
“Where are you from? We didn’t hear anything about cleaning today.”
He was wearing a receiver in his ear, claiming to be a security guard. Moreover, he even checked with the situation room. And the conclusion was that there was no cleaning today.
Immediately, an order to leave was issued. Of course, I couldn’t leave after hearing that.
“We don’t have business with you; we have business with the chairman. We came to complain about the mess you made at the Samcheok construction site.”
“Leave before you get hurt. This isn’t a place for you to come.”
The man with glasses frowned.
Should I use force here?
What I didn’t think about was that because it was a place that claimed to be a large corporation, you had to scan your ID card and enter through a search area.
Because there were many ordinary employees, wouldn’t the police show up if I forced my way through like this?
“I’m a little worried.”
Beep!
At that time, the sound of a walkie-talkie rang out.
“You want us to send them up? You mean by the stairs? Ah, yes. I understand.”
The man said to me.
“You can go up. But you have to take the stairs.”
“Who said that?”
“Our head of security said so.”
“Oh, really? Then get out of the way.”
The man reluctantly stepped aside.
As I was about to go up the stairs, Lee Seo-kyung called me.
“What’s going on?”
-I have a feeling they’re going to do something on the stairs.
“That’s what I want.”
It seemed like the guys were trying to deal with me somehow since I came all the way here.
Were they trying to handle it without the ordinary employees knowing? They seemed to have used their heads in their own way, but that’s exactly what I wanted.
Since they told me to go up the stairs, we all rushed to the stairs.
The stairs were completely empty and very clean, even though they hadn’t been built that long ago. However, the height was a problem….
“How long will it take to get to the 35th floor?”
That was the only problem.
NK Group Chairman’s office.
Chairman Yoon Yong-gu was watching the representative of ‘We Wipe Everything Clean’ and his employees coming up the stairs with the head of security, and he had an absurd expression on his face.
“Is he crazy?”
“They say 150 people attacked him in Samcheok and were defeated. He’s not someone to be taken lightly.”
“Haha. Even so. In my 40 years as a gangster, this is the first time I’ve seen such a ridiculous guy.”
Although he had brought his business to the surface, Yoon Yong-gu always thought of himself as a gangster. However, he couldn’t act recklessly externally because of his image, but behind the scenes, he ordered all sorts of dirty deeds.
Wasn’t his position one that he had climbed to by crushing those who were growing, squeezing the blood out of ordinary people, and repeating purges?
Even for him, this was the first time someone had come directly to his base with only that many people.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve used my own hands. Catch that punk and bring him to me.”
“But are you sure it’s okay?”
“What?”
“I don’t know if H Group will stand still.”
“Judging by the fact that Chairman Lee has been quiet so far, he’s testing that guy. He’s seeing if he’s worth pushing or not. Do you think Chairman Lee Kang-no is such an easy person? He’s someone who can see a thousand miles while sitting down, so he knows everything. That means if that guy can’t overcome me and dies screaming, that’s the end of it.”
Chairman Yoon Yong-gu had been with H Group for as long as 10 years. During that time, he had climbed up like a dog, doing all sorts of cleanup.
That’s why he knew very well what kind of person Chairman Lee Kang-no was.
He was endlessly generous to those he had chosen, but he was ruthless if they betrayed his expectations. It was the same during the test.
Now was the test, and he was seeing if he could surpass Yoon Yong-gu.
Chairman Lee Kang-no probably didn’t even know that that punk would come out so recklessly.
“Shall we send the kids down?”
“How dare they come here. Send the entire security team down. Let’s see the skills of those guys who used to be called national-level knife fighters. Let’s see if they’ve rusted or not. Let’s see if they’ve gotten fat in the belly?”
“Hehehe. Absolutely not. Aren’t we the top national organization? We have to keep sharpening our knives to maintain that title.”
The chief smiled slyly.
An Seong-cheol, the chief, was also excited at the thought of tasting blood after a long time.
It was good to get some exercise by coming up the stairs after a long time.
In the past, I would have been panting after just 10 floors, but thanks to learning black magic, my body itself had changed, and no matter how much I exercised, I didn’t get tired.
How exactly did black magic change my body?
At this rate, I feel like I could win even if I went to the UFC [Ultimate Fighting Championship, a mixed martial arts organization].
“But when are these bastards coming down?”
They were clearly trying to do something on the stairs, but the stairs still hadn’t ended. Then the stairs led directly to somewhere.
The way to the upper floor was blocked, and there was a wide-open space like a taekwondo gym, and there were various exercise equipment in this place.
The capacity seems to be at least several hundred people. Because one floor looked like a training hall.
As soon as I entered completely, the door closed.
Squeak!
Thud!
“Ohora.”
Interesting.
So, it seems like they’re trying to trap me here and mess me up.
That’s a good thing for me.
Because it means that if I break through this place, I can go straight to the chairman.
A man walked out with a knife.
“Hehehe. You little brat, you came to a place where you don’t even know you’re going to die?”
“Are you some kind of 쌍칼 [ssangkal, double knife user]? Why are you bringing out two knives? Did you watch too many ‘Son of a General’ movies? Or are you a fan of 쌍칼 [ssangkal]?”
“What nonsense are you talking about? Stop with the unfunny jokes and leave your last words.”
One door opened and gangsters rushed out.
So, the 30th floor was the area for ordinary people? It seemed like the real ones were gathered from the 30th to the 40th floor.
I came to the right place.
There seemed to be 100 people here alone. If professional fighters were gathered like this, it seemed like there were many gangster bases.
“Oh, I’m disappointed. My jokes aren’t working.”
As I gained strength, I naturally exuded composure.
I felt a sense of exhilaration as I faced the battle.
Did I originally like fighting this much? Why do I feel like I want to beat someone up so much? Maybe it’s because these guys are gangsters.
How many people would these gangsters have killed to grow this big? Sure enough, I could see quite a few spirits attached to the chief.
The other guys were the same. Seeing that they each had about three spirits attached to them, it seemed like they were all people who had used knives a bit.
“Is that your last words?”
“Do you guys fight with your mouths? Is the knife just for show? Stop talking and come at me. I’ve said it many times, you guys started it first.”
As planned, I decided to let them hit me first.
Because there was a small camera attached to each of the Undead’s masks, it seemed like self-defense would be possible enough.
Of course, if we went to court, I would also have a headache because of the existence of the Undead, but this was just for insurance. It didn’t seem like they would go to court.
“Kids, attack!”
“Yes, sir!”
“Ha! You’ve only watched too many movies and are just putting on airs.”
I naturally cast a hand sign in the air.
“Dark Haste.”
