◈ 586. Rembrary Becomes Harder to Meet
Rembrary replied blankly.
“You should ask PD [Production Director] Kim Mu-rok about that.”
It was a slightly off-point answer, but not wrong. The tense people burst into laughter.
The audience member blushed and shook his head.
“No, what I’m trying to ask is…”
He was implying that he wanted to ask again if the content ‘related to the Cataclysm’ was true, but the MC [Master of Ceremonies] was experienced.
“Right, you should ask PD Kim about that.”
The MC immediately snatched the question, responding to Rembrary’s answer and signaling to the staff.
The staff naturally approached the audience member and took the microphone away.
Still, the guests were unnecessarily nervous and watched Rembrary’s reaction.
It was a rumor circulating among only a small number of people, but as broadcasting officials, they had already heard it.
Most of the audience was bewildered, but a few who had heard the rumors were also frozen.
Rather, Rembrary himself was the most composed.
The MC deliberately spoke brightly.
“And Rembrary can’t be related to it. The Cataclysm is a kind of… monster attack, right?”
“That’s right.”
Fixed guest 1 quickly replied, and the MC continued.
“It’s like monster robbers… monsters can’t be controlled. Oh, and who is more enthusiastic about dealing with them than Rembrary? Right?”
At the MC’s rambling question, the audience nodded in agreement, not knowing what was going on.
It seemed to end there, but this time Rembrary gave an ambiguous answer.
“If you run into a store to avoid robbers, but the robbers follow you in, mess up the store, and use violence against the owner, the store owner will hate the robbers, but also the person who ran into the store.”
Again, people’s attention turned to Rembrary at the slightly off-point remark.
Rembrary asked those around him.
“Are there any more questions?”
* * *
“What do you think that last part meant?”
“I don’t know. But the example is quite ambiguous.”
“Right. Because you can’t be rational when you’re being harmed.”
PD Kim Won-bi, who had finished recording, was walking while talking to the staff.
He overheard people whispering from down the hallway.
“What’s going on?”
Kim Won-bi asked the FD [Floor Director] next to him without much interest.
Before the FD could answer, another staff member who ran from that direction informed Kim Won-bi first.
“PD Kim, Shin Jo-woon is here.”
“Shin Jo-woon? Worldboom [Likely a reference to a major entertainment company]?”
Kim Won-bi asked, bewildered by the sudden appearance of a legendary name in this field.
“Why? Ah. Did he come because of Rembrary?”
“No. He said he wanted to see you…”
Kim Won-bi became even more bewildered at the staff’s answer.
“Me? Uh? Why me?”
“I don’t know either…”
* * *
Kim Won-bi didn’t know why, but he met Shin Jo-woon and started talking in an empty waiting room.
“Hello? I’m so glad to actually meet you like this.”
Kim Won-bi wondered what Shin Jo-woon wanted to talk about with him alone, so he asked as soon as he greeted him.
“I can’t really guess what you want to talk to me about…?”
“I’m sorry for coming so suddenly.”
Shin Jo-woon apologized smoothly, as rumored, and got straight to the point.
“I heard that an audience member asked a strange question during the recording.”
“Yes?”
Kim Won-bi widened his eyes like a lemur. He heard it?!
It wasn’t Shin Jo-woon asking about the audience member that surprised him.
He was surprised that the recording had just ended, and he had already heard about it.
Kim Won-bi suspected that Shin Jo-woon hadn’t ‘heard’ the story from someone, but had been listening in real-time. Hadn’t there been a precedent already?
But Kim Won-bi didn’t show it and answered obediently instead.
“Yes. The audience member at the end asked a strange question. But Rembrary answered well and got through it. He’s very quick-witted. Haha.”
The ‘haha’ laughter at the end sounded too strange even to himself, so Kim Won-bi immediately shut his mouth.
Still, he was thinking, ‘But what does that have to do with Shin Jo-woon coming all the way here?’ Even without sending someone?
Shin Jo-woon directly resolved the question.
“Can’t you edit that part out?”
As soon as he made the request, a smile that no one could refuse appeared on Shin Jo-woon’s face.

While Shin Jo-woon was talking to Kim Won-bi,
Rembrary, who was going outside, was stopped by Shin Jo-woon’s secretary and got back into the back seat of the car he came in.
As Rembrary stared blankly, the secretary handed him a box of snacks prepared in advance and said.
“The president has something to talk about with the PD here. He said he’ll be back before you finish eating all of this, so please wait.”
Scanning through the variety of types, Rembrary became satisfied, put the snack box next to him, opened them one by one, and waited for Shin Jo-woon.
Shin Jo-woon really came back before he finished eating them all.
“Is your talk with the PD over?”
Shin Jo-woon, who pushed the box next to his seat, counted the remaining snacks in the box instead of answering and said in surprise.
“One, two, three, four… your eating speed has increased a bit?”
“I ate one onion flavor, Mr. President,” the secretary confessed, and Shin Jo-woon smiled and handed him another snack.
“Ah, okay. It’s okay.”
Rembrary naturally remembered that his question was ignored and asked again.
“Anchovy [Likely a nickname], is it a secret what you talked about with the PD?”
“No.”
This time, Shin Jo-woon answered immediately and fastened his seat belt.
“I asked them to edit out the last audience member part entirely.”
“Did they say they would?”
“They said they were going to do it anyway.”
“If it were Kim Mu-rok, he would have emphasized it repeatedly as a highlight.”
“That’s right. But that side is unusually unique.”
As Shin Jo-woon answered and carefully looked out the window, the secretary glanced back and asked.
“Mr. President, shall we depart?”
“Yes.”
Even while answering, Shin Jo-woon kept looking out the window. He seemed to be looking for something, even though he came all the way to talk to the PD.
Rembrary stared at his profile and asked, opening a new bag of snacks.
“Are you perhaps looking for the audience member? The one who asked the question at the end?”
Shin Jo-woon smiled and denied, “No way.”
“I just came after a long time. I looked around a bit.”
But as soon as Rembrary said, “That person knows where I am,” Shin Jo-woon frowned and immediately asked.
“How do you know that?”
Rembrary put a snack in his mouth and said nonchalantly.
“Because I asked Daeju [Likely a staff member] to put that person in.”
Shin Jo-woon was a little taken aback by that.
“You did?”
The secretary also flinched as he listened to the conversation, and the car jerked.
Rembrary nodded.
“In case Kim Mu-rok successfully produces the documentary, I planted it in advance.”
“Planted in advance?”
“If Kim Mu-rok can’t make the documentary, it’ll just be buried as a rumor. If Kim Mu-rok makes the documentary, it’ll at least act as a buffer.”
“You don’t care at all. I thought you wouldn’t care.”
“It’s not just about me.”
“!”
Rembrary said that and stared at Shin Jo-woon before saying.
“If Kim Mu-rok can’t be stopped from making that documentary, you too…”
However, the end of that sentence became blurred as it went on, and soon leaked out completely differently.
Rembrary held out a snack and simply asked, “Want one?”
It seems like he just changed the subject. Shin Jo-woon had a suspicion close to certainty, but Rembrary was already talking to the secretary.
“Is the onion flavor good?”
* * *
“Shin Jo-woon, you should distance yourself from Jang Tae-ri?”
Ardor was completely delighted at what Rembrary said as soon as he arrived home.
“I strongly agree, High Priest. We shouldn’t associate with those heretics for long. It was obvious that they were constantly trying to drag the High Priest into the world of heresy.”
His face was so shiny that Mullu became a little unpleasant and asked.
“But why suddenly, High Priest? Don’t you like them a lot?”
“No!”
“I wasn’t asking you, Ardor.”
Rembrary smiled bitterly.
“If the documentary is released, people from the Otherworld will be on the same boat, whether they’re on good terms or bad. But Anchovy and Tae-ri aren’t from here.”
Ardor shouted again.
“They’re complete strangers!”
“If Kim Mu-rok successfully produces and broadcasts the documentary, it might splash on them too, because I’m famous for being close to them. I have to prevent that.”
Ardor, who had been smiling brightly, pouted with an uncomfortable expression.
He seemed a little less excited when he realized that Rembrary hadn’t lost affection for Shin Jo-woon and Jang Tae-ri.
Nin-ling carefully asked.
“Then wouldn’t it be better to tell them in advance?”
“I was thinking about it.”
“Yes.”
“I think they’ll say they don’t like it. They both rely on me too much.”
Rembrary, who was sighing, was puzzled when he saw Mullu, Nin-ling, and Ardor tilting their heads to the side at the same time and asked.
“Why are you three tilting your heads like pigeons?”
* * *
“Jang Tae-ri, I have something to ask you.”
Shin Jo-woon frowned as he came into Jang Tae-ri’s office and saw Jang Tae-ri shaking her phone in the air like shaking a can of soda.
“What are you doing?”
“I feel like I haven’t been able to contact Rembrary lately.”
“So, do you get a reply?”
As Shin Jo-woon chuckled and sat on the desk, Jang Tae-ri put down her phone and asked.
“That’s why it’s so strange. He used to answer my calls well. What about you? Can you reach him?”
“I came to ask you that too. But I have other things to say too.”
Jang Tae-ri’s eyes widened at Shin Jo-woon’s answer.
“You can’t reach him either? What is it? Did he go somewhere weird again?”
She seemed to be reminded of the time when Shin Jo-woon and Rembrary suddenly disappeared for several months without saying anything.
As Jang Tae-ri’s expression became worried, Shin Jo-woon shook his head.
“No. He’s still going to the Redrin Assembly, so that’s not it.”
“Then why can’t I reach him? Didn’t you say you saw Rembrary on the day of the talk show?”
“I saw him. I haven’t been able to contact him well since that day. If I send ten texts, he replies about once.”
“Me too! What is it? Is he intentionally ignoring nine times? Why is he ignoring so regularly? What about his house? Have you been there?”
“I went, but he wasn’t there. They said he went out. When I saw him, I think he went out after seeing me coming.”
Shin Jo-woon didn’t tell Jang Tae-ri that he saw Rembrary’s back as he went over the wall.
Jang Tae-ri asked with an expression that was confusing whether to laugh or feel sad.
“Isn’t that his house with the four people?”
“I don’t think he can think that far. More than that, Jang Tae-ri, did you say that your partner company is sending resources to Mirage? I have a favor to ask you about that.”
