Yukbertire noticed something strange. Yihan was busy summoning Perkontra in the background.
“The angle of the forty-fourth magic circle is different. Who touched it?”
The wizards remained silent.
The artifact prepared this time required careful focus to move after it was finished, because the process was complex.
Yukbertire knew this, so she tried to remove any possible problems by putting the artifact back together after moving it, before the presentation began.
The wizards helping with this exchange joined in to help.
But now, she found a small mistake in one of the magic circles.
“I-I’m sorry. I think I made a mistake!” One of the wizards confessed, looking pale.
“How could you make such a basic mistake!”
“W-Well, Gawon’s magic was so amazing that I lost my concentration…”
“Are you even listening to yourself!”
“I-It might sound like an excuse, but I put all the magic power needed for the Black Shadow Arts into it.”
“Really? Th-That’s amazing.”
The wizards who had been blaming him for losing focus and making a big mistake suddenly buzzed with admiration.
Gawon had shown such magic!
“I’m sorry, Yukbertire.”
“It’s fine. It’s not your fault.”
“Your Highness!” The wizards were touched that the princess was willing to cover up their mistakes.
“It’s my fault for trusting such fools like you with the work.”
The wizards froze, shocked by Yukbertire’s harsh words.
Yukbertire, not caring, took action.
Clang! With a sharp sound, eight golden needles were put into the oval-shaped dimensional gate’s border. And with a short spell, >Isolation of Bakwantalla< was cast. Crack! The sound was like ice breaking, but deeper. The dimensional gate was sealed, and the swirling portal vanished as if it had never been there. Powerful magic had interfered with space itself. "Unbelievable!" Even the wizard who had just been insulted forgot his humiliation and was impressed by her perfect response. Most enchantment wizards focused on making artifacts or physical enhancement, but Yukbertire showed an amazing level by using enchantment magic freely, as if she wouldn't be limited by those ideas. If this continued, the gate would stay closed even if a rift happened. But magic always goes differently than expected. Crack- The sound of the isolated space cracking was heard, and a huge amount of energy started to flow out of the dimensional gate. The wizards realized they were connected to a dangerous dimension, and cold sweat ran down their backs. 'At this rate…' 'A demon! And a duke-class one!' While the wizards were frozen with fear, Yukbertire cast the next spell. The eight golden needles glowed and burned up, then cast >Bakwantalla’s Destruction>.
Magic with fatal damage flowed like a torrent and strongly hit the being beyond the dimensional gate. The sharpness was so strong that the wizards thought it had worked.
But the voice heard from beyond the gate plunged the wizards back into despair.
Ah-an-excellent-human-wizard-?
‘No damage!’
When both of Bakwantalla’s arcane magics were blocked without effect, Yukbertire’s eyes wavered.
This was the worst thing that could happen.
A connection to a threatening dimension, a gate without restrictions, and a duke-class demon trying to cross that gate!
But-too-bad-no-matter-how-wise-you-are-it-is-power-that-determines-the-world-!
The demon’s voice was cultured, but no wizard was fooled by it.
Pleased-to-meet-you-Pride-Duke-call-me-Garisaima-!
Yukbertire burned with a cold gaze and steeled her will.
Even if the opponent was a powerful demon duke who revealed his name, an Einrogard student would not back down.
Especially someone moving up to the fifth grade!
“Bakwan…”
Pleased to meet you, Garisaima! Just get out!
-!
“!!!”
Boom!!!!!!
The air EXPLODED with power. It wasn’t just thunder; it was a storm made of pure energy, ripping through the hall like a hurricane. The wizards on the stage looked up at another giant presence that had appeared in the audience with astonished eyes.
Yihan, who had summoned Perkontra just in case, stopped, feeling a little embarrassed when he saw the magic Yukbertire used.
‘…Did I call him for nothing?’
It felt like that magic would solve it, and then Perkontra might get angry.
He had already grumbled so much about not calling him for strange things last time…
This time, he must have been called for something really proper, right?
Just as Perkontra completely crossed the gate of the contract, he asked.
Yihan felt guilty at the thunderous voice.
“I’m sorry…”
“Pride Duke? What crazy wizard summoned *him*?”
“Yes?”
“Isn’t that the aura of the Pride Duke! To try to summon such a demon without any restrictions!”
“It wasn’t on purpose, it was an accident. Perkontra! Can’t you stop it with that magic?”
“Accident? You wizards, with your short lives, are *always* causing trouble. It can’t be stopped with that. It’s elaborate, but it lacks power!”
No sooner had he finished speaking than the demon duke tore through the magic, passed through the gate, and appeared.
The demon duke stepped through the gate, a bizarre figure in a chaotic mix of finery. A feathered hat perched on one horned head, while a lace collar peeked out from beneath a suit of armor. His clothes were a jumble of styles and eras, as if he had raided a thousand wardrobes and thrown them all on at once.
If it weren’t for the ominous energy coming from him, Yihan would have thought some crazy wizard was making his debut.
“Look!”
“Perkontra. Please help me! We have to stop him!”
“There’s only one way.”
“What is it?”
Pleased to meet you, Garisaima! Just get out!
Perkontra attacked without warning.
Yihan was surprised by the attack, which would have torn apart even a strong powerhouse, and asked.
“Is it okay to attack like this without talking? What if he gets angry?”
“If it’s a demon duke who’s going to cross over to the mortal realm anyway, no talking is possible before it becomes disadvantageous! They have brains, so it’s better to make it disadvantageous and then talk!”
Oh-nice-to-meet-you-Thunder-King-
The torn Pride Duke quickly recovered.
Perkontra didn’t answer and again used Yihan’s magic power and unleashed it strongly.
Bolts of lightning CRACKED through the air, shaking the hall and filling it with the smell of ozone.
Be-gentle-Thunder-King-you-are-probably-not-as-comfortable-as-I-am-?
Despite being hit hard twice, Garisaima smiled without panicking.
He had crossed the dimensional gate without any penalties.
The opponent was being forcibly summoned by borrowing the power of a wizard.
The advantages and disadvantages were so clear that there was no need to fight or use force.
The reason the opponent attacked so urgently was probably because there wasn’t much time left.
How-much-is-left-once-or-twice-?
“Alright! Experience it yourself!”
Perkontra’s attacks seemed to have little effect on the demon duke. It was clear Perkontra was not strong enough on his own.
As soon as he realized that the Pride Duke was underestimating him, he laughed and used Yihan’s magic power.
Yihan looked at Perkontra, wondering.
“‘Is he using too much magic?’ Yihan wondered. Perkontra seemed to be using a lot of power for attacks that didn’t seem to be working.”
Once, twice, three times.
The Pride Duke, who had been laughing it off until the second time, frowned as if he felt something was wrong when he was hit for the third time.
“Hahaha! Die!”
A lightning bolt as thick as a pillar was used like a spear and burned the Pride Duke.
When he was hit five times after passing four, the Pride Duke became completely serious.
The-wizard-used-a-trick-!
He must have been getting his magic power back in a way that even the duke couldn’t notice.
Whether it was an artifact or magic, it was worth praising.
Wizard-I-will-give-your-soul-special-treatment-!
Poof!
In an instant, the Pride Duke attacked.
Now that he knew that using up Perkontra’s magic power wasn’t working, the next best thing was to stop the wizard.
Perkontra summoned a giant cloud to the ceiling, unleashed a thunderstorm, and wrapped Yihan’s body.
“He’s after you. Be careful!”
“Yes!”
Yihan, who was preparing by casting spells, wondered what additional magic to cast.
However, Perkontra shook his head.
“What are you going to do with that magic! I’ll protect you myself!”
“What do you mean…”
Perkontra possessed Yihan’s body and cast integration.
Boom!
The lightning that flowed from Yihan’s body covered the surroundings.
Yihan was thrilled by the sense of power over the lightning felt throughout his body.
It was as if he had become the master of lightning in this area.
‘What is this…!’
Yihan moved his fingertips and summoned lightning from the air.
The lightning bolts chained together and became a giant chain, striking the Pride Duke.
The Pride Duke took out a black-red sword to block the attack and grumbled.
Wizard-if-you-entrust-your-body-to-a-great-spirit-you-will-burn-to-death-wouldn’t-it-be-better-to-offer-your-soul-to-this-Pride-Duke-?
-Ignore that nonsense!
Perkontra shouted inside Yihan.
Borrowing power by joining with a spirit was dangerous.
Spirits didn’t know how much magic power a wizard could use before becoming a cripple, because they weren’t the same kind of life form as wizards.
In the case of great spirits, the risk was even greater, and you could use up all your magic power and die just by joining for a few seconds.
But Perkontra didn’t care.
Because it didn’t matter to this young wizard!
-Are you sure you’re okay? I was going to try to endure it with my magic…
-Are you even saying that? Your magic is just child’s play!
Perkontra scoffed at Yihan’s words.
It seemed like it was time to show this young wizard what true magic was.
-Look!
With a shout, Perkontra made lightning at his fingertips, borrowing Yihan’s body.
Yihan could easily recognize the magic.
Because that magic was >Perkontra’s Lesser Lightning>.
But the result was different. The white-hot lightning scattered a more violent aura than the lightning Yihan had been handling.
Yihan sensed it as he had learned about the theory of elemental transformation while being beaten by Professor Voladi every time.
‘He’s making the lightning stronger!’ Yihan realized. It was like Professor Voladi had taught him – making the element even more powerful.
Crack!
The white-hot lightning was fired.
Perkontra waved his staff and cast lightning in succession.
Despite being a simple magic that gathered and fired, its power was beyond imagination. The shields summoned by the Pride Duke were shattered in one blow.
-If you’re going to use the lightning element, this much is basic! Do you understand!”
-Ahead! Look ahead!
Seeing the Pride Duke rushing in, Perkontra raised one hand and summoned the Thunder Spear and Lightning Mantle.
However, like the Lesser Lightning magic from before, the power was on a different level from Yihan’s magic.
It was a chaotic moment, but Yihan tried to grasp even a little of the lightning element operation method that was rushing into his head.
‘The magic power should be the same, but how can it be like this…!’
The Pride Duke, who had avoided the lightning spear, quickly turned behind Yihan. Perkontra snorted and emitted the lightning mantle.
The Pride Duke made an annoyed sound and distanced himself. The sound of the surrounding air burning was eerie.
Thunder-King-you-really-hate-that-wizard-are-you-trying-to-kill-him-?
-Gasp!
-What gasp! I’m doing it because your magic power can handle it!
Perkontra explained urgently at Yihan’s reaction.
