Farming in the Tower Alone [EN]: Chapter 164

What If I Ate All of This?!

Kellion stood in the administrator’s office in the Black Tower. The office was large and filled with the scent of old books. He watched Aileen holding Ajax by the back of his shirt. Ajax was not moving; he was unconscious.

Kellion cleared his throat. “Aileen,” he said, trying to sound calm, “maybe you could let go of Ajax now?” He felt a little uneasy. Ajax was his grandson and much older than Aileen – three hundred years older! Everyone knew Aileen had Dragonheart solidification, which meant she used to have almost no magic.

But now, Aileen was dragging his grandson around like he was a toy! It was strange to see.

Kaiser nodded in agreement. “Yes, Aileen,” Kaiser said. “Please let him go. And tell us why Ajax is here.” Kaiser really wanted to ask about Aileen’s Dragonheart first. He could feel the strong magic coming from her. It was clear her sickness was gone. But he let Kellion speak first, out of respect.

“Yes… Actually…” Aileen released Ajax’s collar and began to explain why she had grabbed him.

“I was talking to Sejun when an alarm went off. It said Ajax was trespassing. So…”

“That scoundrel!” Kaiser glared at Ajax.

Kellion swallowed hard. “Ugh…” The secret passage Ajax was trying to use was one that Kellion himself had told Ajax about. He had no words.

Also, he hadn’t told Ajax about his contract with Sejun, or about the special rights Sejun had to grow things there. Ajax had planted seeds, not knowing he would be tied to Sejun for a hundred years.

Even if Ajax had known, he probably would have broken the contract anyway. But Kellion still felt bad.

‘Ajax must never find out about this,’ Kellion thought.

Kellion kicked the back of Ajax’s head so he wouldn’t wake up. Thwack! “Ugh!” He couldn’t let Ajax wake up and say things that would ruin his plans.

‘So, that’s what that meant,’ Kellion thought.

Kellion remembered the Tower Farmer Commandments, rules for those who manage the Tower. The Second Commandment – A Tower Farmer may command the Tower Farmers of other Towers.

Because of this, Kellion now knew what the Second Commandment meant and how to use it to control other Tower Farmers.

‘This could be useful later.’

Kellion was happy to have this new information.

“Ahem… Since this is Ajax’s fault, how about we make him sign a contract? It will say he has to obey Sejun for two hundred years,” Kellion said. He wanted to hide his own mistake by making this new contract. This way, no one would remember what he had done.

“Hmm, a contract sounds good. What do you think, Aileen?” Kaiser asked.

“Add another hundred years, so it’s two hundred years total. He already had a contract for a hundred years, right?” Aileen said. She wanted more than just a hundred years.

If it were Sejun, he would have signed a contract that let him control Ajax without risking his life. But Aileen thought Ajax was already a slave for a hundred years.

A contract that stopped him from disobeying orders for a hundred years wasn’t good enough.

“Ugh… Fine,” Kellion said.

Kellion made the contract, and then, Stamp!

Ajax’s thumbprint was on the contract.

“Give it to me. I’ll send it to Sejun,” Aileen said.

As Aileen sent the contract to Sejun, Theo, who was good at getting thumbprints from people who were not awake, put Sejun’s thumb on the contract. “Do I just stamp it here, meow?” he asked.

So, the contract was finished without Sejun and Ajax knowing, while they were both still unconscious.

Now that Ajax’s problem was taken care of, Kaiser asked, “Aileen, what about the Dragonheart?” He had been wondering about this for a while. Aileen used to have very little magic because of her sickness. Now, she had almost as much magic as a grown dragon.

“Hehe! A super great grandma helped me!” Aileen said.

“A super great grandma?” Kaiser asked.

“Yeah! Grandma Kai-Ra!”

“What? Kai-Ra helped you?!” Kaiser was very surprised. Kai-Ra Fritani was one of the first ten dragons made by the Creator God over a million years ago.

She was the strongest of all the dragons. She was the pride of all black dragons. When Kaiser was young, he always asked the adults to tell him stories about Kai-Ra.

“Grandma Kai-Ra’s thoughts were in the Dragonheart fragment,” Aileen said.

“Really?! Where is that Dragonheart fragment?” Kaiser asked quickly.

“Grandma’s thoughts are gone now,” Aileen said.

“That’s too bad… But still, that’s wonderful. Kai-Ra helped you!”

“Yeah! Can I go see Sejun now?”

“Ahem… That might be hard,” Kaiser said.

“Why?! I’ll call Sejun to a place without crops,” Aileen said.

“Well…” Kaiser tried to explain it to Aileen in a way that wouldn’t upset her too much.

“Huh? Sejun will be in danger if I get too close because my magic is too strong?!” Aileen was shocked.

“Hmph… Then there’s no point in fixing the Dragonheart! I was going to surprise Sejun at his birthday party…”

“Let’s try to make Sejun stronger in the time we have left,” Kaiser said.

Since they couldn’t make Aileen’s magic weaker, Kaiser thought they could make Sejun stronger. But he knew it wouldn’t work. It was just a way to calm Aileen down.

If Sejun could become strong enough to handle Aileen’s magic in less than two days, he wouldn’t be the weakest person on the 99th floor of the Tower.

“Really? Then I’ll make food that will make Sejun stronger! Grandpa, help me!” Aileen said.

Sejun had told her not to, but Aileen wanted to make a dish full of her love this time.

“What?! You’re even cooking for that Sejun?!” Kaiser was jealous of Sejun. He didn’t know how the person who had to eat the food felt.

The news spread quickly among the hunters on the 40th floor of the Tower: The Black Oaks have started moving south again!

The hunters in the camp quickly started to move.

But the Black Oak troops were closing in on the camp. Thud. Thud.

Then, Urchi stepped forward and said to the hunters, “I am Urchi, the king of the Black Oaks. I work for Theo Park!”

“We are looking for the person who stole Theo Park’s things. Help us!”

The hunters were afraid they would die if they didn’t help, so they agreed. They hoped that because Urchi worked for Theo, they would be safe.

“Women, go over there. Men, come here and line up!” The Black Oaks took the women to a tent and the men to a large open space and lined them up.

Bill was helping Urchi. Bill was a cat intern. He had learned about human culture by trading with hunters. He gave advice to Urchi so the hunters wouldn’t get angry.

“Take off all your clothes except your underwear,” Urchi said.

The female hunters were embarrassed. “What?!” What were they going to do after they took off their clothes?

“Don’t be ashamed! We’re women too!” Urchi said.

“What?!” The Black Oak pointed to the clothes on his large chest muscles. The Black Oak tribe only wore tops. This was because it was hard to tell the difference between men and women just by looking at their upper bodies.

The Black Oaks made the hunters take off their clothes until they were only wearing underwear. Then, they checked each hunter for a tattoo of a three-headed snake.

After they had checked about half of the hunters in the camp, one of the male hunters started to cause trouble. “Let go of me!” he shouted. A Black Oak grabbed him. The tattoo of a three-headed snake was visible on his torn shirt.

“Tell me everything you know,” Luken, the Black Oak tribe’s shaman, said as he shook his skull staff.

“What are you talking about?!” the hunter said.

“You’ll tell me everything anyway,” Luken said.

Thwack! Luken hit the man’s head with his skull staff. Souls from the staff went into the man’s head.

A moment later, the man begged, “Ugh! Please! I’ll tell you everything I know about the circle. Please take these monsters away!”

“I’ll take them away if you tell me everything,” Luken said.

“Yes! What I know is…” The man told Luken everything.

Thwack! Luken hit the man’s head again to get the souls back. Then, he went to Urchi.

“I found out,” Luken said.

“Really? Your magic is always good!” Urchi said.

“He he he. The power of old Black Oak magic is scary,” Luken said.

Then, a Black Oak soldier came and said, “Your Majesty, the inspection is done.”

“Good job. Get ready to move! Luken, where should we go?” Urchi asked.

“The place he told me about is on the 38th floor of the Tower. We should go there first and get more information,” Luken said.

“I understand! Everyone, move to the 38th floor!” Urchi shouted.

Pooooooo. The Black Oak troops moved to the 38th floor of the Tower.

Sejun woke up. “Ugh…” He had fainted because of Aileen’s magic.

“President Park! Are you okay, meow?!” Theo asked.

Kkuengi asked, [Daddy, are you okay?]

“Yeah, I’m okay. But why did I faint?” Sejun asked.

“I don’t know, meow! Suddenly, there was a lot of magic, and then it was gone, meow!” Theo said.

“Magic?” Sejun remembered feeling like his chest was tight before he fainted.

“But what time is it now?” Sejun asked.

Kkuengi’s stomach clock rang. Grumble.

[It’s dinner time!] Kkuengi said.

“What?! Already?!” Sejun ran to the kitchen. The water in the pot was gone, and the rice cakes were hard.

“Looks like I’m working late tonight?” Sejun said.

He had to steam rice cakes until morning, but the schedule was canceled. He might have to stay up all night.

[It’s a late-night snack! We’re eating honey popcorn!] Kkuengi cheered.

Sejun smiled when he saw Kkuengi. Kkueng! Kkueng!

“Yeah. It’s not a big deal. I just need to eat some late-night snacks,” Sejun said.

Sejun started steaming new rice cakes and made dinner. Dinner was spicy squid soup. He had been smelling rice cakes all day, so he wanted something spicy.

“Kkuengi, please get some squid from the warehouse,” Sejun said.

[Okay!] Kkuengi said.

Sejun sliced onions and green onions and put them in a large pot. He had to put a lot in because the pot was so big. Tap tap tap.

[Daddy, I brought it!] Kkuengi came out with a box of squid.

Sejun poured all the squid from the box into the pot. Then, he added red pepper powder, salt, and Cheongyang peppers.

“Kuh. Perfect! Everyone, let’s eat!” Sejun said after tasting it. He was happy.

The white rabbits couldn’t eat spicy food, so he gave them clear squid soup that he had saved before adding the spices.

The monkeys ate the spicy food even though it was their first time. Ookkie!

After dinner, Sejun started steaming new rice cakes. He was resting when Theo came to him. “President Park. President Park. Look at this, meow!” Theo said.

Theo gave Sejun a contract at the perfect time for Sejun to praise him.

[Absolute Command Contract]

-For 200 years, Party B cannot refuse Party A’s orders.

Special terms…

Party A: Park Sejun (Seal)

Party B: Ajax Mamph (Seal)

The special terms said that Party B didn’t have to give up his property or his life.

“But when did I put my seal on this contract?” Sejun asked. He saw his thumbprint on the contract.

“I stamped it when President Park was unconscious, meow! Aileen gave it to me, meow!” Theo said.

“Aileen?! Ah!” Sejun remembered Aileen saying she would drag Ajax over.

“Aileen really dragged Ajax over and got him to sign a contract telling him not to mess with me,” Sejun said.

Hehehe. So, Ajax can’t refuse my orders?

“Ajax, come here immediately!” Sejun said.
