“Kyu of Fury? Why are you scared of a hamster?” Paku started to ask, then he remembered. Iona was famous for her terrible temper. When she was truly angry, she unleashed the Kyu of Fury, a wave of destructive magic. If it was a strong Kyu of Fury, it could destroy a city. Rabbit City was close by. They were in terrible danger.

Iona’s furious magic began to affect the surroundings, and small stones began to float.

“We’re all going to die.” Just as the monsters were accepting their deaths as a foregone conclusion,

“Iona, calm down now,” Theo said softly, licking her head. “It’s okay, meow.”

“Kyoo… yes,” Iona mumbled, her growling fading. Theo could feel the magic around her lessen. He was relieved. “Onyx, come with me. You others, stay here,” Theo ordered.

“Yes!” the monsters said, happy to be away from Iona.

Onyx, still shaking, followed Theo and Iona towards White Castle, where Sejun was waiting.

“Here you go, Kkuengie, eat some more.” Sejun held out a piece of carrot cake.

Kkuengie’s eyes lit up. The carrot cake floated gently in the air and zoomed towards Kkuengie’s open mouth. He munched happily. “Delicious!” Kkuengie squeaked.

“It’s amazing you can do that now, Kkuengie. Try another one.” Sejun wanted to see more of Kkuengie’s new power. Kkuengie had been sleeping a lot lately, getting used to his new abilities. He had discovered he could move things with his mind.

“Vitality,” Sejun whispered. He used his skill to digest the strange meat Eileen had given him. It was a bit annoying to use the skill every hour, but it helped him eat more of the meat. Eileen had said it would make him stronger.

Suddenly, Sejun felt the Vitality skill improve. Now it would digest food even faster and make him stronger for longer. He could probably eat even more of Eileen’s meat now. Sejun didn’t really care about getting a little stronger. He just wanted to finish eating all this meat.

“Almost done,” Sejun said, looking at the last of Eileen’s meat. There were only a few pieces left. If he ate them all, he would be finished with it, and maybe he would become much stronger.

Sejun chuckled. Kkuengie squeaked happily, also enjoying the cake. Kkuengie ate a few more pieces, then yawned. He rubbed his eyes and snuggled close to Sejun. He was getting sleepy from using his new power.

“Time for a nap then?” Sejun asked. His own stomach was full too. He hugged Kkuengie, lay down on the bed, and made a pillow for Kkuengie with his arm. Soon, the only sounds in the room were the soft snores of Sejun and Kkuengie.

The door slowly opened. “Meow? Master Sejun, are you sleeping?” It was Theo.

“Squeak, squeak, Theo, we are sleeping too!” Iona said, who also wanted to sleep.

“Good idea, meow!” Theo jumped onto Sejun’s lap, happy to be close to him.

Soon, the room was filled with soft snoring sounds.

Outside the bed, Onyx moved quietly, trying not to wake anyone. He carefully lay down on the floor. He was glad to be safe inside with Sejun and his friends.

Sejun’s shadow began to stir.

Sejun looked at Theo. His yellow fur was gone! Now, Theo was covered in something black, like dark ink had spilled all over him.

Sejun leaned closer, his eyes wide with curiosity. He carefully reached out a finger, wanting to poke one of the black blobs, but stopped himself, unsure if it was safe.

“Huh?!”

As Sejun watched, puzzled, the black stuff on Theo’s fur started to disappear into Sejun’s hand, or rather, it seemed to melt into his shadow.

“What is this?!”

Sejun was confused and didn’t know what to do.

Slither slither,

Suddenly, small pieces of shadow, like dark blobs about the size of your thumb, started falling from Sejun’s shadow. They moved on their own and stuck to Theo’s fur. They wiggled and squirmed, like little living things, in a cute way.

“Aileen, what is this?” Sejun asked, pointing at the shadow blobs with his finger, careful not to let his own shadow touch them.

[The Tower Administrator says they are shadow minions. Don’t worry, Master, they will not hurt anything you don’t want them to hurt.]

Aileen said.

“Shadow minions?” Sejun repeated. “But I didn’t think I had the magic to summon these.”

“Shadow Minions.”

Sejun tried to summon a shadow minion again.

But

It failed again.

“Then why are these here?” Sejun wondered.

[The Tower Administrator says Grandpa told him that the God of Darkness, Dark, loved cats.]

[The Tower Administrator says these shadow minions are acting like this because of Dark’s love for cats.]

“Because he liked cats?” Aileen explained.

“So, I can control shadow minions even without magic? Hello, everyone!” Sejun said happily, greeting them.

The shadow minions ignored Sejun.

“They don’t understand me?” Sejun watched as the shadow minions stayed close to Theo.

“Meow? Mr. Park, are you awake?” Theo woke up and greeted Sejun.

“Hey! What are these things? Get them off! Meow! They’re tickling!” Theo shouted at the shadow minions on his body.

The shadow minions moved away from Theo.

“Huh?” Sejun noticed something strange. Why did they listen to Theo?

“Theo, tell them to line up.”

“Meow?! Okay, meow! Line up, everyone, meow!”

Scamper scamper.

The shadow minions quickly lined up neatly.

“Huh?!”

Look at these guys?

“Hmph! They don’t listen to me, but they listen to Theo?” Sejun smiled, looking at the shadow minions who seemed to be ignoring him on purpose. “Then I’ll get Theo to order them around!”
