Black Tower, 66th floor.
To the left, a towering spire pierced the sky, and to the right, a colossal red fortress wall stood.
“Follow me.”
“Phoo hoo hoo! I understand!”
Piyot chirped.
[Hurry and guide us!]
Pan Chen smiled in a mean way as he led Theo and Piyot into the Black Market.
The Black Market was a place for selling goods obtained illegally. It operated with great secrecy on different floors of the Black Tower.
No one knew where the Black Market headquarters was, not even the regulars.
Pan Chen was leading them to a branch of the Black Market, but he also knew a way to get to the headquarters.
Pan Chen headed towards the red fortress wall, which was the city of Red Orcs, ‘Red Stronghold.’
“Pass!”
As Pan Chen approached, the Red Orcs let Pan Chen, Theo, and Piyot pass without checking them. The Red Orcs were Theo’s slaves and obeyed him.
Pan Chen thought, ‘Those stupid Red Orcs. They always obey Theo.’
“Are we still far?”
“We’re almost there. Just a little further,” Pan Chen said gently to Theo, who was getting annoyed.
Pan Chen thought, ‘Your road to the afterlife isn’t far now.’
Pan Chen thought about how to get rid of Theo and Piyot and led them into a narrow alleyway.
“Here it is.”
Pan Chen took a key from his pocket.
Click.
He unlocked the door of a dusty, ordinary-looking house and went inside.
A moment later, red Orc soldiers in armor surrounded the house Theo had entered.
“Great Tusk, he’s here! Theo went into this house!”
“Understood. Wait here until Theo comes out!”
Great Tusk, the ruler of the Red Orcs, waited in front of the house for Theo to come out. Pan Chen had told him to trap Theo.
As Theo and Piyot followed Pan Chen inside, they found themselves in a space filled with thousands of items on display.
“What is this?”
From the outside, it looked like a small house, but the inside was surprisingly vast, like a hidden cave. It was a place with space expansion magic, which the Black Market often used for its branches.
“Welcome to the Black Market!”
A hundred Black Market employees greeted them.
“Are you looking for something in particular?”
One of the employees came up to Theo and asked.
“I want the land deed for the 70th floor of the tower!”
“The land deed for the 70th floor? We have it. Please, follow me. I will guide you.”
“Good!”
Theo was pleased and followed the employee, and Piyot followed too.
As they followed the employee deeper into the Black Market, Theo wrinkled his nose. A strange mix of smells – spices, dust, and something faintly metallic – filled the air. He could hear the low murmur of voices and the clinking of coins somewhere in the distance.
Clang.
“Heh heh heh! Are you the rude fools who dared to touch Young Master Pan Chen?”
The Black Market employees snatched out their swords and axes, surrounding Theo and Piyot.
“Where did Pan Chen go?”
Pan Chen had already run away.
“What?! Did Pan Chen trick us?! Don’t tell me there’s no land deed for the 70th floor either?!”
Theo was angrier about the land deed than Pan Chen’s betrayal and questioned the employee.
“Heh heh. Of course, there isn’t. Before you worry about such things, worry about your lives!”
There was no land deed for the 70th floor. The employees had lied to separate them from Pan Chen.
[How dare you lie to Theo! Theo, what should we do?!]
Piyot moved his neck from side to side and asked.
“I’ll fight alone!”
Theo was furious that he was delayed from returning to Sejun and stepped forward. He decided to test the dragonhide he had received from Kellion.
A moment later, Theo blocked the swords and axes with his bare body, easily defeating the Black Market employees. The dragonhide was tough and durable, as expected.
[You bad guys! How dare you trick Theo?!]
Meanwhile, Piyot collected the weapons and belongings of the unconscious employees and put them in Theo’s sack. He stamped the employees’ seals on the contracts. *Giggle*. It’s fun! So, this is why Theo stamps them!
After defeating the employees, Theo said, “Where is Pan Chen hiding?”
Theo looked for Pan Chen but couldn’t find him.
“Piyot, let’s take the items here first!”
[Yes!]
Unable to find Pan Chen, Theo and Piyot began putting the Black Market’s items into their sack, but there was nothing that interested them.
[Theo, here’s the land deed for the 81st floor of the tower that Sejun asked for!]
Piyot flew over, holding a land deed.
“Good job, Piyot! As a reward, I’ll give you a one-day pass to be my right-hand assistant, Theo’s Vice President!”
Theo gave Piyot a reward for doing a good job, just like Sejun.
[Really?! I’m honored!]
Piyot was thrilled to be Theo’s right-hand assistant for a day and packed the items into the sack even more diligently.
After packing all the Black Market’s items, they tried to leave again.
Clang. Clang.
The door wouldn’t open.
“Open!”
Theo tried to break it open, but the place was separated by dimensions using magic and couldn’t be destroyed by force. They needed a special key.
Theo and Piyot were trapped in the Black Market branch.
Morning arrived, and Sejun woke up.
Next to him, Fenrir was lying sprawled out like a human.
Sejun got out of bed.
“Ajax, summon.”
He summoned Ajax as promised.
[Summoning Ajax Ma’amub, the Tower Farmer of the White Tower.]
After 10 seconds, a message appeared.
“Sejun hyung!”
As soon as he was summoned, Ajax called out to Sejun and hugged Sejun’s leg with delight.
“Hyung! Why did you call me so late?! I’ve been waiting since earlier!”
Ajax rubbed his face against Sejun’s leg, complaining.
Sejun stroked Ajax’s head, waiting for him to calm down.
A moment later, Ajax regained his composure.
“Sejun hyung, but what’s for breakfast?”
Ajax looked up and asked about the breakfast menu.
“Breakfast? I haven’t decided yet… What do you want to eat?”
“Huh?! Are you going to make what I want to eat?!”
Sejun had just said, “Of course, Ajax. I will make you anything you wish for breakfast.”
“Yes,” Ajax said softly. “You granted my wish.” Sejun’s kind words made Ajax feel warm inside. He put his chin on his hand and thought hard. What delicious thing should he ask Sejun to make?
Suddenly, his eyes lit up. “Ah! I know! I want to eat garae-tteok for breakfast!” Garae-tteok, long white Korean rice cakes, he remembered Ggwaeng saying they were incredibly delicious.
“Garae-tteok?” Sejun repeated, thinking for a moment. “Alright. Understood.”
“Yay!” Ajax cheered, jumping up and down with a big smile. He raised his hands in the air, happy that Sejun would make his wish come true.
“Ah! And this.”
Ajax handed over 100 cherry tomatoes he had harvested from the White Tower, along with the remaining Potion of Harvest, saying, “Here.”
“Thank you.”
Sejun received the cherry tomatoes and the Potion of Harvest.
Thump.
He set down the Potion of Harvest for the moment and checked the cherry tomatoes first.
[Elixir: Cherry Tomatoes Infused with Immense Magic Power (+1)]
Permanently increases magic power by 30 upon consumption.
Born by absorbing powerful magic, it cannot grow unless in a place with strong magic.
Cultivator: White Tower Farmer Ajax Mambub (Slave of Black Tower Farmer Park Sejun)
Expiration Date: 10 years
Grade: A
“Good.”
Fortunately, what he wanted was enhanced, increasing the magic power boost from 10 to 30.
Sejun checked the cherry tomatoes’ stats.
Clink.
He shook the glass bottle to see how much Potion of Harvest was left.
Sejun thought maybe using two drops on the cherry tomatoes was why there was only one drop of Potion of Harvest left in the glass bottle.
‘I should save this for when I really need it.’
Clang.
Sejun put the cherry tomatoes and the Potion of Harvest into his subspace warehouse.
“It’ll take some time to make garae-tteok, so get some sleep.”
“Okay, Brother!”
Hop.
At Sejun’s words, Ajax immediately jumped onto the bed.
Whine…?
‘What’s all this noise…?’
Fenrir woke up, thanks to the commotion.
Just then,
Gak!
Whump.
Ajax snatched Fenrir and hugged him tightly. Fenrir felt squashed and hot in Ajax’s strong arms.
“Blackie, sleep together…”
Arooo.
Ajax, exhausted, couldn’t even finish his sentence before falling asleep.
Whine?! Whine?! Whine!
‘What is this?! Are you trying to kill me?! Hey! Save me!’
Unable to escape from Ajax’s embrace, Fenrir looked at Sejun, pleading for help.
But
“Sorry, Blackie.”
Sejun ignored Fenrir and headed to the kitchen. He couldn’t possibly pull him away with his strength.
Whine!
‘Traitor!’
And so, Fenrir remained in Ajax’s arms until Ajax woke up for breakfast, sleeping together.
Kkirorong.
Several hours had passed since Theo was trapped in the Black Market branch.
Thud!
Theo kept hitting the wall again. It was a cold, stone wall, and dust fell with each hit, but the door would not open.
“This is a disaster, nya!”
I want to go back to Chairman Park, nya! Theo, longing to return to Sejun’s lap, felt despair.
Beep! Beep!
[That’s right! It’s a disaster!]
Bbyot also.
‘I need to brag about it today…’
Because once today passed, he wouldn’t be able to brag about becoming Theo’s right-hand man.
Just as the two of them were sinking into despair,
Clang.
Creak.
Iona appeared, opening the door.
The 66th floor of the Black Tower was divided. There were originally two factions.
One was the Mage Association headquarters located on the east side of the 66th floor.
The other was the city of the Red Orcs, the Red Fortress, located on the west side of the 66th floor.
“Why isn’t he coming out?”
The Great Ogre Tooth frowned. Theo should have come out by now. He started to worry. What if something bad had happened to the Black Dragon’s friend?
If something happened to Theo, the subordinate of the Great Black Dragon, here, the Black Dragon’s anger might turn towards them.
So, he was about to go inside the building himself.
But
Clang.
“…?!”
When he opened the door, there was only a small, plain house inside that looked out of place in the rough Black Market. And no one was there.
“Is it magic?”
The Great Ogre Tooth sensed something was wrong.
He sent a subordinate to request assistance from the Mage Association headquarters.
Iona was working at the Mage Association office as the president, and
Iona followed the Red Orcs quickly.
“I won’t forgive you! How dare you imprison Theo-nim!” Iona made small, angry noises as she analyzed the magic placed on the house.
After some time, but it felt like a long hour to the worried Red Orcs,
“Theo-nim, I’ll get you out now!”
Iona finished analyzing the magic.
Whoosh.
Magic energy swirled around Iona’s hand as she channeled a magic pattern into the doorknob that could open the space connected to the door,
Clang.
And opened the door.
“It’s Iona, nya!”
Beep!
[Iona-nim!]
Theo and Bbyot cheered as they saw Iona.
“Theo-nim, are you alright?! Which bastard locked Theo-nim in here?!” The enraged Iona asked Theo.
“It’s a guy named Panzen, nya! But I can’t see where he went, nya!”
“I’ll find him for you! Wait just a moment!”
Swish.
At Theo’s words, Iona wrapped Theo’s tail around her body and closed her eyes.
A moment later.
“I can’t see a guy named Panzen. But there’s faint magical energy lingered in the air from using spatial teleportation!”
Iona, whose anger had subsided considerably, opened her eyes and said.
“So, he ran away, nya? Then you can’t catch him, nya?!”
Theo was disappointed at Iona’s words.
But Iona in front of Theo was the best mage in the Black Tower.
“Theo-nim, who do you think I am?!”
“It’s Iona, nya!”
“That’s right! I am the president of the Mage Association, Iona!”
Iona smiled, thinking it was an opportunity to show off her skills to Theo.
Tight.
Iona closed her eyes even tighter than before and concentrated.
“Theo-nim, I know where he went!”
Iona shouted in a confident voice. She had figured out the coordinates to which Panzen had teleported.
“Fufuhut. Then let’s go catch Panzen right away, nya!”
“Yes! O power of space…”
Iona chanted a spell and used spatial teleportation magic to the coordinates where Panzen had moved.
Theo, Iona, and Bbyot followed Panzen and teleported to the Black Market headquarters.
