Sejun arrived on the 68th floor of the tower. He quickly looked around. He needed to be careful.
He thought he heard a *clang* sound. Suddenly, Teo opened the subspace warehouse door and leapt onto Sejun’s face, shouting, “Chairman Park, I missed you, meow!”
“Hey! I can’t see!” Sejun said, trying not to scold Teo even though it was an urgent moment.
“Puhu-hut. There’s nothing around here that could hurt Chairman Park, meow!” Teo said proudly.
“Puuu-bu-bu-bu.” Sejun gently blew air into Teo’s belly, making a funny farting sound.
“Puhu-hut! That tickles, meow!” Teo giggled.
As he played with Teo, Sejun frowned. “But why aren’t the others coming out?” He looked inside the subspace warehouse with a puzzled expression.
The rest of the group were fast asleep on the floor of the subspace warehouse. The floor was covered in piles of shiny gold coins, reflecting the light. It seemed like they were very tired from working hard yesterday.
“Vice Chairman Teo, cover them with blankets,” Sejun said softly.
“Understood, meow!” Teo replied.
He carefully covered them with blankets.
Sejun closed the subspace warehouse door gently so they could sleep comfortably.
Just then,
[Fenrir’s core fragment (0.5%) has been detected 270km south.]
A message appeared. Fenrir’s core fragment! That’s great news.
Perhaps because he had absorbed more of Fenrir’s core, the search distance was longer now. He could also feel the strong power of the core fragment.
“Hehehe. How convenient,” Sejun thought.
Thanks to this, Sejun didn’t need to wander around to find the core fragment. He looked around the farm. Five hundred cherry trees stood tall, each branch heavy with bright red cherries. The air smelled sweet and fruity. Sunlight shone through the leaves, making the cherries glow like little jewels.
“What kind of fruit is this?” Sejun wondered.
Pluck.
He picked a cherry.
[You have harvested a cherry.]
[Job experience slightly increased.]
[Harvesting Lv. 8 proficiency slightly increased.]
[You have gained 1 experience.]
A message appeared.
“Ah. It’s a cherry.”
This was a cherry tree farm. The cherries looked plump and juicy. Sejun picked one. It felt smooth and cool in his hand.
“These are delicious.” He harvested the cherries, ate the sweet, juicy flesh, and put the seeds in his pocket. He would plant them on the 99th floor farm later.
“That’s right! I need to grow a sausage tree too. Hehehe.”
“Delicious~ sausage~” Sejun sang, thinking about delicious sausage recipes.
“Chairman Park is excited, meow! I’m excited too, meow!”
“Delicious~ meow~ grilled fish~ meow~” Teo also sang his favorite food song, following Sejun.
As Sejun and Teo were singing and harvesting cherries,
Kkueng!
[Kkuengi woke up!]
Kkuengi woke up with a big yawn, “Kkuhehehe. Kkueng!” [Hehehe. Yes!] He opened the subspace warehouse door and gently leaned against Sejun’s back as he was picking cherries.
“Kkuengi, did you sleep well?” Sejun asked kindly.
“Kkuhehehe. Kkueng!” [Hehehe. Yes!]
Piyot!
[I fell asleep for a moment!] Piyot blinked sleepily.
“Sleeping on gold is *amazing* sleep. I should sleep on gold from now on,” Piyot said.
Yuren also woke up and stretched his wings as he came outside.
At that moment,
Whimper! Whimper!
The sound of Fenrir crying came from inside the subspace warehouse.
“What’s wrong?” Sejun went inside.
Whimper?!
‘Why can’t I get this off?!’ Fenrir was struggling to remove a gold bracelet decorated with jewels that was stuck around his waist.
How did it even get around his waist while he was sleeping?
“Blackie, showing off your new bracelet, are we?” Sejun teased Fenrir. He gently grabbed Fenrir by the scruff of his neck and lifted him up. The bracelet slipped off easily.
“Blackie, let’s go now.” Sejun put Fenrir in the sling bag, slung the bag over his shoulder, came outside, and harvested cherries with the group.
A little while later.
When Sejun had harvested all the cherries within his reach,
“Move Earth!”
He used the skill to raise the ground beneath the field and harvested the cherries at the top of the trees.
However,
“What’s wrong? Why are these cherries like this?” Most of the cherries at the top of the trees had been pecked at by someone, leaving small wounds.
Just then,
[A quest has been generated.]
[Quest: The cherry tree wants revenge on the cherry peckers who are eating the cherries for fun and only leaving wounds. Catch the cherry peckers.]
Reward: Recognition as the rightful owner of the land deed
A land deed quest appeared.
“Cherry peckers?” Sejun said.
Ah. He realized he wasn’t the owner of the land yet.
“Catching them will be easy,” Sejun thought. “The cherry peckers will come back. So, Sejun just needs to hide and wait.”
Plus, we have a specialist in stealth.
“Batbat.”
(Batbat… *mumble mumble*…) At Sejun’s call, Batbat slowly woke up. He mumbled sleepily, then in a more awake voice, answered energetically, ‘(Batbat! It’s okay, Sejun!)’
Sejun massaged Batbat’s body gently with his fingers, feeling sorry for waking him up and for eating sweet potatoes earlier.
“Hide here. If any creatures appear eating the cherries, chase them and just tell me where they are,” Sejun instructed. He knew Batbat was the weakest after Fire, so he didn’t ask him to fight.
‘(Batbat! Yes! Leave it to me!)’ Batbat replied eagerly.
Batbat greeted Sejun and disappeared into the air, using his stealth skill.
“Then let’s go find the core fragment,” Sejun said.
As soon as Batbat went into stealth, Sejun took his group and left the cherry tree farm.
Sejun and his group needed to get away from the farm. The cherry peckers probably wouldn’t come if Teo, Iona, and Kkuengi, who had strong energy, were nearby.
So, Sejun decided to find Fenrir’s core fragment while getting far away from the cherry tree farm.
“You guys watch the farm from a distance. Help Batbat if there’s a fight,” Sejun told Teo, Iona, and Kkuengi.
To keep Batbat safe, I asked Bleep and Yuren to wait near the cherry tree farm.
“Toryong!”
Sejun and the others rode Toryong south.
About 270km south, they reached a huge lake. The water was dark and still, reflecting the grey sky like a mirror. A strange, fishy smell hung in the air.
[Predator King Kog of Uran Lake]
There were no other creatures in the lake. It seemed Kog had eaten them all, as the name suggested.
“Meow! Look at that giant fish!” Theo cried, his eyes wide as he pointed at the lake.
*Thud!*
As if hearing Theo, the giant fish, Kog, spotted Sejun and his friends. It charged towards them, splashing water high into the air, creating a powerful wake.
“Chairman Park, lend me some money, meow!” Theo pleaded, turning to Sejun with hopeful eyes.
“Alright, Theo,” Sejun chuckled, knowing Theo’s love for gold. He was practically swimming in wealth these days.
But Sejun didn’t just hand Theo the gold coins. He knew Theo needed to burn the gold to fuel his special fire magic. “Will this be enough?” Sejun asked, taking a handful of glittering gold coins from his subspace warehouse and offering them to Theo.
“Puhuhu! Anything from Chairman Park’s endless treasure will do, meow!” Theo purred with delight. “Burn brightly, my precious fuel, meow!”
*Faaaat.*
With a happy cry, Theo threw the gold into the air. It vanished in a flash, and a golden light enveloped Theo, making his fur glow.
“Meow! Take this!” Theo shouted, swinging his golden paw. A blade of pure golden magic shot out, slicing through the water and hitting Kog with precision. It neatly cut away only the side of the giant fish where the dark Fenrir core fragment was embedded.
“Puhuhu. Kkuengee, go catch it, meow! Tonight’s dinner is giant grilled fish, meow!”
Kkueng!
[Understood!]
At Theo’s words, Kkuengee kicked off the ground and struck Kog’s head, where the Fenrir core fragment had been removed.
[Herbalist Kkuengee has defeated Uran Lake’s Predator King Kog.]
[Herbalist Kkuengee has gained 30 million experience points, 50% of the acquired experience.]
[Leveled up.]
[Acquired 1 bonus stat.]
[Strength increases by 10.]
*Thud!*
Kog collapsed, and Sejun’s level increased.
“Puhuhu. Chairman Park, here it is, meow!”
Theo brought the Fenrir core fragment to Sejun.
“Good job, Vice Chairman Theo.”
Sejun praised Theo and glanced at Fenrir. He was sure he would be clamoring for it.
But Fenrir didn’t care at all, even when he saw the core fragment.
‘Hehe. I’ll have him eat that later too.’
Fenrir planned to give all the less powerful core fragments to Sejun from now on.
“Let’s go back now.”
Happy with their victory and dinner, Sejun and his friends quickly returned to the cherry tree farm.
Batbat. I’m here!
The cherry destroyers appeared in front of Batbat, who was lying in wait.
Caw!
Caw!
Their identities were crows.
The crows pecked a little bit at each cherry and moved on. It was a wasteful way to eat.
(Batbat. How dare you touch Sejun’s fruit. I’ll punish you.)
Batbat spoke in a frequency that no one could hear and moved quickly using his special bat-like movements, ‘Batbo’.
And in an instant, he moved behind the crows and knocked them unconscious by hitting the back of their heads.
Flap flap.
In the blink of an eye, 500 crows were knocked unconscious by Batbat’s attack and fell to the ground.
When the crows were subdued,
“Batbat, we’re here.”
Sejun, who had arrived at the farm, called out to Batbat.
(Batbat! You’ve arrived!)
Batbat showed himself from Sejun’s shoulder and greeted him.
“Yeah. Nothing special… Huh?! What is all this?”
Sejun, who had entered the farm while greeting Batbat, was bewildered by the crows knocked out on the ground.
Bleep and Yuren had said the cherry farm was safe. It was clear now that the crows hadn’t even had a chance to fight back against Batbat.
“Batbat, who did this?”
(Batbat! I did it!)
At Sejun’s question, Batbat puffed out his chest and looked at Sejun with eyes that said, ‘Did I do well?’ but
Our Batbat was strong too…
Sejun had thought the crows were a real threat. He realised now that Batbat was so strong, there was no challenge at all. Sejun’s eyes were full of disappointment because it was too easy.
As Sejun realized Batbat’s combat power and fell into despair,
[All cherry dippers have been knocked unconscious.]
[Quest completed.]
[As a reward for completing the quest, you have been recognized as the rightful owner of the Black Tower 68th floor cherry tree farm land deed.]
[Land Deed Skill: Farm Information Lv. Max is activated.]
A quest completion message appeared.
“Puhuhu, let’s get Bleep’s stamp, meow!”
Bleep!
[Yes!]
Meanwhile, Theo and Bleep got the crows’ footprints on the contract.
And so, the crows became cherry tree farm managers in exchange for 10 peanuts a day.
“Then take good care of it.”
Sejun left the cherry tree farm behind and
[Black Tower 68th floor waypoint has been saved.]
With the cherry farm deed secured, Theo was eager to move on to his merchant plans on the 75th floor.
Arrived at the waypoint. The boss of the 68th floor of the tower was a general of the Lizard Kingdom who knew Theo, so they easily got a free pass.
“Chairman Park, now is finally the time, meow!”
Theo handed Sejun the land deed for the 75th floor of the tower and said.
“Alright.”
Let’s make our Vice Chairman Theo a great merchant.
Sejun nodded at Theo, put the party members in the subspace warehouse, and unfolded the tower document.
[Arrived at the Black Tower 75th floor.]
…
..
Sejun arrived at the farm on the 75th floor of the tower.
[You have been recognized as the rightful owner of the Black Tower 75th floor acacia tree farm.]
[Land Deed Skill: Farm Information Lv. Max is activated.]
This time, he became the owner of the farm without any quests.
“Acacia?”
Did this have fruit?
As Sejun pondered how to utilize the acacia tree,
Clang.
“Chairman Park, I missed you, meow! Iona, let’s go, meow!”
Theo came out of the subspace warehouse and called Iona,
“Kkyut kkyut kkyut. Yes! Power of space… Teleport.”
With Iona’s magic, they arrived in front of the Merchant Association headquarters president’s office of the Wandering Merchant Association.
And
“Failed.”
Theo, who went to Mason with Sejun, Kkuengee, and Iona, could not pass the first stage promotion test.
“But why, MEOW?! I did everything right!”
“Are you really asking because you don’t know?”
“I don’t know, meow!”
“Sigh. Don’t you have two people without reputation?”
Mason looked at Sejun and Kkuengee and explained, “Neither of you are well-known here.”
