Sejun chuckled quietly. “Let’s see what Kkamangi thinks of this.”
Rattle rattle rattle.
The automatic cart moved slowly. It came from the towers and emerged from the shadowy opening. It rolled towards Sejun.
“Meow?”
It stopped in front of Theo, who was diligently licking his paws on Sejun’s lap, trying to get rid of the fishy smell.
“Huh? Did you sell everything already?”
As Sejun reached for the cart,
Bzzzt!
“Ouch! That stings!”
The cart shocked Sejun when he touched it! It was a golden cart, very loyal, and only allowed its owner to touch it.
However,
“Haa! It attacked Chairman Park! Bad cart, meow!”
When Theo got angry at the cart,
Rattle rattle rattle.
The golden cart, reacting to Theo’s loud voice, immediately turned towards Sejun.
And then,
Thud.
It opened its entrance, showing Sejun the inside of the cart.
Inside the cart, Sejun frowned. Instead of the things he expected, it was filled with strange items. Rough pieces of burnt wood lay next to stones marked with golden lines, like tiny lightning bolts. And there were piles of strange yellow mushrooms.
Sejun’s shoulders slumped slightly. ‘Useless things?’ he thought.
[Starting Transaction.]
Letters began to appear on the cart’s door.
[Earned 11 million Tower Coins by selling all items.]
[Failed to purchase the ‘Golden Tower 35th floor land document’ as instructed.]
[Purchased 75 lightning-struck trees for 750 Tower Coins.]
[Purchased 1500 lightning stones for 300 Tower Coins.]
[Purchased 3000 Zzirit Mushrooms for 1500 Tower Coins.]
[Purchased the Bana Village order form for 0 Tower Coins.]
Sejun looked at the prices. ‘These really do seem useless,’ he thought.
“But what is an order form?”
Sejun was puzzled by the unexpected content.
Is that it?
A white envelope stuck between the items caught his eye.
Thwack.
He picked up the envelope and took out the paper inside.
[Bana Village Order Form]
Orderer: Bana, Village Chief of Bana Village
Ordered Items: 20,000 Magic Cherry Tomatoes
Order Price: 5 Tower Coins
The content was written there.
“The Golden Tower must have a good demand for magic cherry tomatoes.”
He had sold them for 2 Tower Coins, but they are paying 2.5 times more than he sold them for.
As Sejun was reading the order form,
“Pyoopyoo?”
Pyoopyoo hopped closer, his eyes wide. “Sejun, are those lightning-struck trees and lightning stones?” he asked, his voice full of excitement.
“Yeah. How did you know?”
Pyoopyoo! Pyoopyoo!
[Those are incredibly expensive! They’re items that mages who handle lightning attributes go crazy for!]
Me too!
Pyoopyoo suppressed his true feelings and answered.
“Heh heh heh. Really?”
Hearing Pyoopyoo’s words, Sejun quickly checked the options for the lightning-struck tree and the lightning stone.
[Lightning-Struck Tree]
A tree with a smoother flow of lightning attribute energy due to being struck by lightning.
If lightning attribute equipment is made with this tree, the magic flow will be smoother, consuming 10% less magic power.
Grade: A+
[Lightning Stone]
A stone containing lightning attribute energy from being struck by lightning multiple times.
If a weapon is made using the lightning stone, it will be a lightning attribute weapon. If a staff is made, it can create a staff that amplifies lightning attribute attacks by 1.3 times.
Grade: S-
They said it’s an item that lightning attribute mages go crazy for…
If you make a lightning attribute magic staff with these two, it seems like you could create pretty good equipment that reduces magic consumption and increases attack power.
“Pyoopyoo, so how much is this worth?”
Sejun asked, looking at Pyoopyoo with an expectant expression.
Pyoopyoo! Pyoopyoo!
[At least 10 billion Tower Coins for the lightning-struck tree, and about 300 million Tower Coins for the lightning stone! Since there’s not much being released, you could sell it for even more!]
“Really?!”
Pyoopyoo!
[Yes!]
He bought the lightning-struck tree for 10 Tower Coins and the lightning stone for 0.2 Tower Coins…
The Golden Tower elves are so kind!
Sejun praised the personalities of the Golden Tower elves and picked up the Zzirit Mushroom.
[Zzirit Mushroom]
A mushroom that grows naturally on the ceilings of the dark caves of the Golden Tower, enduring the lightning attribute energy flowing through the ground when lightning strikes.
When consumed, a slight tingling sensation is felt on the tongue due to the lightning attribute.
When consumed, resistance to the lightning attribute increases.
With prolonged consumption, Talent: Electrical Resistance can be unlocked.
Expiration Date: 60 days
Grade: C
“Oh! This is good too.”
If it gives lightning attribute resistance when eaten, I have to eat it regularly.
Crunch. Crunch.
Sejun cut off a small piece of the Zzirit Mushroom to taste it.
Zzirit.
Suddenly, his tongue felt numb as if it had been electrocuted.
“Ah. N-numb.”
To the point where his tongue was stiff and he couldn’t pronounce words properly.
Once the numbness in his tongue disappeared,
Heh heh heh. I can’t be the only one having this good experience, can I?
Suddenly, a mischievous streak was ignited.
“Guys, try this.”
So, he gave the Zzirit Mushroom to Kkueng, Black Rabbit, and Pyoopyoo.
He tried offering it to Theo as well, but
“I don’t like it, meow! I, Vice President Theo, don’t eat things like that, meow!”
He naturally refused.
Munch.
So, the three, excluding Theo, ate the Zzirit Mushroom that Sejun gave them.
Kkuhehehe. Kkueng!
[Hehehe. It’s a strange taste!]
Bbyak!
[It’s electrifying!]
Pyoopyoo!
[It’s a taste I’ve never had before!]
Unlike Sejun’s expectations, the three ate it very comfortably. This was because they already had a considerably high resistance to the lightning attribute.
Tch. No fun.
Since they didn’t react the way he hoped,
Kkirorong.
Heh heh heh. Is it time for our reaction master, Kkamangi, to step up?
Sejun took the Zzirit Mushroom and put it on Kkamangi’s tongue, who was sleeping with his tongue slightly sticking out.
Then,
Kkamangi leaped up, startled. ‘Kkeeeeek~! Kkieeek?!’ he shrieked, spinning around in confusion, his eyes wide and searching for the attacker.
As expected of our Kkamangi, he never disappoints me.
“Kkamangi, did you have a bad dream? Eat this quickly?”
Satisfied with Kkamangi’s reaction, Sejun quickly put dried sweet potato in Kkamangi’s mouth.
Then,
Kking?
[Was it a dream?]
Kkamangi tilted his head.
The sound of chewing filled the quiet air. Smack. Smack. Smack. Sejun ate pieces of dried sweet potato. Blackie, who had been barking excitedly just moments before, was now quiet beside him.
“Okay, let’s see…” Sejun thought, counting in his head. “Seventy-five lightning-struck trees and one thousand five hundred lightning stones… Hmm, how much will that be?” He looked up, then asked, “So, does that mean we made more than a trillion Top Coins this time?”
Ppyu Ppyu had given them the lowest possible price. If they were lucky, they might even get two trillion Top Coins! Sejun grinned. “The Golden Tower really is amazing!” He felt a surge of pride for the incredible Golden Tower.
“Phoo-hoo-hoo! It’s all thanks to Vice Chairman Teo, nyaang!” Teo puffed out his chest proudly.
“You’re right, Teo! You’re fantastic!” Sejun chuckled, stroking Teo’s head.
Kkueng?! [Is Kkuengi not the best?] Kkuengi looked at Sejun with a sulky face.
Kking! [Blackie too! Say Blackie is the best!] Blackie barked, wanting to be included.
“Yes, yes! You are all the best!” Sejun laughed and hugged Teo, Kkuengi, Blackie, Black Rabbit, and even Ppyu Ppyu.
Then he said,
“Teo, please load the cherry tomatoes and other crops onto the cart. And this time, make sure to list the lightning trees and stones as things we bought.”
“Phoo-hoo-hoo, got it, nyaang!”
Teo quickly started loading the crops onto the cart.
The stinging mushrooms were just for Blackie and Sejun, so they wouldn’t need them for a while.
Soon,
“Earn lots of money, nyaang!”
Teo shouted as the golden cart rattled away towards the Golden Tower. Clatter clatter.
He had returned in just two days, leaving 28 days out of his 30-day trip. Going to the Golden Tower now would cost 280 billion Top Coins. But he knew he would earn much more than that, so it was worth the cost. Getting the lightning trees and stones quickly was a good plan.
“Here, Ppyu Ppyu,” Sejun said, smiling. “Take these.” He gave Ppyu Ppyu ten lightning trees and ten lightning stones, noticing how Ppyu Ppyu’s eyes were glued to them.
“Well, we should go now.”
As Sejun turned to leave for the 99th floor,
Ppyak! [Uncle, please stay!]
Black Rabbit grabbed Sejun’s clothes tightly.
Sejun looked at Black Rabbit’s hopeful eyes. “Do you want me to stay a bit longer, Black Rabbit?” he asked gently.
Ppyak! [Yes!]
Black Rabbit nodded quickly, his eyes shining with thanks.
Golden Tower, 12th floor. Kwagwang! The golden cart sped across the lightning-struck plains and arrived near Bana Village.
“Oh! The golden cart is here!” an elf shouted.
“Quickly, tell Elder Bana!”
“Alright!”
Another elf, guarding the edge of Bana Village, ran to inform Bana.
Moments later, Whoosh. A shimmering barrier rose up to block the lightning, and elves rushed out from the village.
“Quickly, gather the lightning trees and stones!” someone yelled.
They all started working, following Bana’s orders.
The elves needed money to trade, but living in their caves, they didn’t use Top Coins much. So, they sold things to the golden cart to get money. Lightning trees and stones were common in the Golden Tower, just lying around on the ground, unlike in the Black Tower where they were rare and valuable. The elves collected these fallen trees and stones to sell.
[Purchased 20,000 magic cherry tomatoes.] They were happy to buy the magic cherry tomatoes they had ordered.
“Wow! We get money just for picking up things from the ground! The golden cart is amazing!” one elf exclaimed. Clatter clatter. The elves cheered as the golden cart left, loaded with their goods.
The next morning, Ppyak! [Uncle, goodbye! I’m going up in two days!] Black Rabbit waved goodbye to Sejun, looking much healthier than the day before.
As Sejun left White Castle to go home,
“Nyaang?! Chairman Park, my paw is tingling! Something good is coming, nyaang!” Teo suddenly stretched his paw forward, his voice full of excitement.
“Oh? Really?” Sejun looked ahead, also feeling excited.
Then,
“Yang yang yang.” A young golden sheep, humming happily, walked towards White Castle.
“Wait, isn’t that Mimir?” Sejun asked.
“Phoo-hoo-hoo. Yes, it is, nyaang!” Teo grinned.
Sejun thought, “What great luck!” He knew Teo always got what he sensed. Mimir walked closer, humming, unaware that Sejun and Teo were watching him with smiles.
Suddenly, Mimir felt something was wrong. “I have to run!” he thought, turning to escape.
Nyaangbo! Teo zoomed in front of Mimir, who jumped back in surprise.
“Mimir, give it to me, nyaang!” Teo demanded, holding out his paw confidently.
“Wh-what?!” Mimir stammered, confused and flustered.
“Phoo-hoo-hoo! I know everything, nyaang! Hand it over now, nyaang!” Teo shouted again, even more confidently.
“Oh… okay…” Mimir sighed sadly. “I worked so hard to get this…” He pulled out a box from his golden fur and gave it to Teo.
But,
“Nyaang? What’s this, nyaang? Thanks, nyaang! But this isn’t it, nyaang!” Teo shook the box and held out his paw again.
“Yeng?!” Mimir exclaimed. “This isn’t it?! Then give it back!” Mimir looked at Teo with pleading eyes, but Teo just stared back, paw outstretched.
“Phoo-hoo-hoo. Just give it to me, nyaang!” Teo insisted. He wasn’t going to give up.
“Then… maybe this?” Mimir asked, pulling out another item.
“Nope, not that, nyaang! But I’ll take it, nyaang!” Teo snatched it.
“Then… this?”
“Nope, not that either, nyaang! But I’ll use it, nyaang!” Teo took that too. Mimir kept pulling out items from his fur, and Teo kept taking them all!
“Then… oh?! What’s this?” Mimir said, surprised, as he found an old scroll he’d forgotten about.
“Phoo-hoo-hoo! That’s it, nyaang! Thank you, Mimir, nyaang!” Teo grabbed the scroll and vanished in a flash.
Then, suddenly back beside Sejun, Teo said, “Chairman Park, take this, nyaang! It’s my gift, nyaang!” Teo dropped the scroll and all the other items he’d gotten from Mimir into Sejun’s arms.
