Farming in the Tower Alone [EN]: Chapter 483

A Hybrid, You Say?!

Sejun ripped the thin paper ticket. As always, the best he could get flashed on the message: “10 days.”

“Yes! Vice Chairman Tae, you’re the best!” Sejun pumped his fist in the air, a wide grin spreading across his face. Ten days! At this rate, just two more tickets and the Seed Shop would be open again. He could almost taste the new seeds already.

“Heh heh heh. Vice Chairman Tae, I’m going again!” Sejun said.

“Puhuhu. Good, meow! Everything is good with Chairman Park, meow!” Theo replied, excited because Sejun was excited.

Sejun thought, Heh heh heh. It feels like the whole universe is helping me.

Riiiip.

He tore another reduction ticket, and this time, he also shortened it by 10 days.

Heh heh heh. Good. Now, if I tear just one more reduction ticket, will the Seed Shop reopen? Sejun smiled and picked up a new reduction ticket.

At that moment…

[Cheating has been detected.]

A message in ominous red letters appeared.

Cheating?!

[Two entities used one exchange ticket together.]

[This is considered cheating.]

[All benefits from the Seed Shop Random Duration Reduction Ticket obtained through cheating will be invalidated.]

[The next Seed Shop will open in 30 days.]

[As a penalty for cheating, all 7 Seed Shop Random Duration Reduction Tickets in your possession will be confiscated.]

[The contents of the Seed Shop Random Duration Reduction Ticket will be modified to prevent cheating.]

The system began to bully Sejun again.

“Hey! What are you talking about?!” Sejun exclaimed.

Confiscating 7 reduction tickets was crossing the line!

Sejun was more angry about having his reduction tickets taken away than having the benefits canceled. He couldn’t contain his rising anger and shouted fiercely.

The system, as if its business was done, did not respond.

“Haa! Haa! You made the great Chairman Park angry, meow! And you dare call the teamwork of the great Chairman Park and this body cheating, meow?! Unforgivable, meow!” Theo was furious.

We are one, meow!

Theo was furious at the system for a different reason than Sejun.

“I will impeach the system, meow!” He tried to impeach the system, but…

[The system is not subject to impeachment.]

The system was not subject to impeachment.

However…

“I don’t like it, meow! Still impeachment, meow!” The furious Theo did not back down and continued to try to impeach the system.

“Impeachment, meow!”

[The system is not subject to impeachment.]

“Impeachment, meow!”

[The system is not subject to impeachment.]

Theo and the system kept repeating the same words to each other.

When dozens of words had been exchanged…

[System modification is only possible by entities with system access.]

The system suddenly gave a different answer.

“Who is it, meow?!”

I will impeach them, meow!

[There are currently no entities with access to the system.]

“Meow?! None, meow?! Then how do I get access, meow?!”

[To obtain system access…]

[Unauthorized access to the system has been detected.]

[System access is blocked.]

“Meow?! Why are you cutting me off, meow?! Tell me, meow!”

While Theo was arguing with the system…

[You are a Field Lv. 8 is activated.]

[Planted an acorn seed in the body of Kurugeo, the rock that destroys the 7 Seats of the Apostle of Destruction.]

“Hum hum hum.”

Sejun, who had calmed down in the meantime, hummed and entered the subspace warehouse, diligently planting 100 acorn seeds.

Crack.

The acorn seeds grew rapidly.

Sejun waited for the acorn seeds to grow into trees, and…

“Hmm.” He examined the two transcendent seeds.

[Seed of Abundance]

??? You must harvest to check the options.

[Starfruit Seed]

??? You must harvest to check the options.

As expected, there was no information about the seeds this time either.

It’s no use planting this either, right?

Since transcendent seeds do not germinate unless special germination conditions are met, Sejun began looking for germination conditions first.

The Seed of Abundance…

“Since it’s related to abundance…”

Sejun placed the Seed of Abundance in a place with plenty of water, plenty of nutrients, and plenty of sunlight, and observed its condition for a long time, but there was no reaction.

Then, the Starfruit…

“Star? Is it a star?”

Since there was a star in the name, he thought it needed starlight, and…

“Ajax, please put this in a place where the starlight shines well.”

He tried leaving the Starfruit to receive starlight in Hayap Tower, which is always night.

1 hour later…

[The slave of the White Tower asks if he should keep leaving the Starfruit seed, which hasn’t changed at all.]

“No. Did you seal Ajax?”

[The slave of the White Tower says yes.]

“Okay. I’ll summon him now. Ajax Summon.”

Sejun summoned Ajax to the 99th floor of the Black Tower to have lunch with him for the first time in a while, and…

The sealed Ajax appeared before Sejun, holding the Starfruit seed.

“Sejun hyung! I missed you!”

As soon as Ajax appeared, he rushed towards Sejun with excitement.

Thud!

It was quite a strong impact, but Sejun didn’t feel any pain. Thanks to the Blessing of Peace, which reduces attack power by 25%.

“Ajax, have you been well?”

“Yes! Hyung!”

As Sejun chatted with Ajax and headed to the kitchen…

Whine! Whine!

[Hey! Butler No. 1, the great Blackie is hungry! Give me food quickly!]

Inside the kitchen, Blackie was barking diligently, demanding food from Sejun No. 1.

Of course, Sejun No. 1 did not give Blackie food because he had Sejun’s instructions not to give Blackie food, and…

Whine?!

[If Butler No. 1 doesn’t give it to me, do you think I can’t eat?!]

Hop. Hop.

Blackie jumped from the floor to the chair, and from the chair to the table.

Hee hee hee. Whine! Whine!

[Hee hee. Now this is mine! Cackle, you take some too!]

Squawk!

Snap.

Blackie ran away with three pieces of dried sweet potato and one that Cackle and Sejun No. 1 had made.

Sejun chuckled, reaching out. “Got you, you little rascal!”

*Squeak!* A small, furry creature with bright eyes tried to dart away, but Sejun gently scooped it up. “Stay still now,” Sejun said kindly.

He carefully placed Kamang, and a few of his smaller, squeaking friends, into a soft sling bag.

Sejun turned to a helpful plant creature he called ‘Unit 1’. “Unit 1, could you make Ajax his favorite pancakes, please?”

Unit 1, a tall plant with leafy arms, nodded its leafy head. Soon, the smell of sweet pancakes filled the air.

When they were golden brown, Sejun smiled. “Hap!” he said, with a little magical flick of his wrist. A warm glow surrounded the pancakes, making them extra fluffy and delicious.

A moment later, he heard a happy *slurp* from somewhere nearby. “Ah, that’s good,” a voice mumbled contentedly.

After Ajax had happily eaten his fill of pancakes and returned to the tall, white tower in the distance, Sejun relaxed with a cup of hot coffee.

Kuvarista, a small, furry creature with big ears, had brewed it perfectly. *Koo hee hee hee.*

Another creature, Kkoenge, with a mischievous grin, stood beside Sejun. Kkoenge carefully placed a few shiny coins into a small pouch hanging at Sejun’s belt.

The coffee wasn’t free, after all! Kkoenge earned ten Tower Coins for every cup he served.

Just as Sejun was taking a relaxing sip of his coffee, a magical message popped into his mind: *[The third competition of the Harvest Festival, the Wine Drinking Contest, will begin soon!]* *[If you want to join, please come to the Bountiful Grape Altar!]*

‘A Wine Drinking Contest?’ Sejun thought, a small smile playing on his lips. ‘Sounds fun!’

He quickly decided to join. As he turned towards the direction of the Grape Altar, another message appeared, this one more urgent: *[You must choose a proxy deity to protect the land of Inos!]*

‘Oh no!’ Sejun thought, his smile fading. ‘I almost forgot about that because of the Seed Shop!’

Who should he choose to be a proxy deity? Sejun frowned, deep in thought.

Suddenly, another urgent message flashed: *[Warning! The land of Inos will be destroyed faster if you don’t choose a proxy deity!]* *[Each moment you delay, the destruction speeds up!]*

Sejun’s heart sank. He remembered the Inos people, a kind tribe who had once felt lost and without hope.

A creature named Baet Baet had told them to believe in Sejun as their protector, and hope had begun to bloom in Inos. But now, without a clear sign from their guardian, their hope was fading, and their land was suffering.

‘Oh no! I have to act fast!’ Sejun thought. ‘Leia! I’ll ask Leia, the Goddess of Abundance, to be the proxy deity!’

Leia was the only god he had ever spoken to directly. ‘I can always change my mind later,’ he reasoned, quickly deciding.

As Sejun chose Leia, another message appeared: *[How will you share the rewards with the proxy deity of Inos? (Minimum share: 1)]*

‘Share rewards?’ Sejun wondered. He guessed it meant sharing any benefits Inos might bring. ‘Well, I should keep most of it to help Inos myself,’ he thought, deciding on the smallest share possible.

“One,” he said aloud. Then, a final message: *[Sending proposal to Leia, the Goddess of Abundance, for proxy deity of Inos, with a 99 to 1 share.]*

‘Wait, 99 to 1?’ Sejun blinked. ‘I thought it would be closer to equal!’

He worried Leia would be angry at such a small offer. ‘She’ll probably say no,’ he muttered, ready to offer a bigger share if she refused.

But then, a message arrived: *[Leia, the Goddess of Abundance, accepts the position of proxy deity of Inos!]* *[Leia is now the proxy deity of Inos, in place of Park Sejun.]*

Sejun stared, surprised. ‘She accepted? Even with only a 1% share?’

As Sejun was still trying to understand Leia’s surprising acceptance, more messages flooded his mind: *[You have achieved a great thing by hiring a god!]* *[You have earned the title: One Who Employs Gods!]* *[As a reward for your creation, your Black Tower stay cost is reduced by 1%!]* *[By choosing a proxy deity, you are now the unofficial guardian of Inos!]* *[But you lack divine power to be a true guardian.]*

‘Guardian?’ Sejun thought, feeling a little overwhelmed. Then, another message: *[To become an unofficial guardian, you will receive Divine Blood, with a small amount of divine power.]* *[Your blood will be replaced with Divine Blood.]*

‘Blood replaced?!’ Sejun gasped, feeling a wave of fear. He remembered the pain of having his bones changed before. ‘This is going to hurt… a lot.’

And it did. A searing pain shot through his body. “Aargh!!” Sejun cried out and collapsed.

“President Park, hold on, meow!” Kkoenge shouted, worried. *[Daddy, be strong!]* Theo cried.

Kkoenge and Theo started to gently massage Sejun, trying to help. *Squeak!* *[Hey! Use your core!]* Kamang patted Sejun’s chest with his tiny paws.

*[Heh heh, we need to make his blood stronger this time. Bring the core!]* Kkarar squawked and quickly brought some glowing fragments from a hidden place.

In the grand Seed Shop Headquarters, high above the world, other gods were congratulating Leia. “Lady Leia, well done!” one boomed. “Yes, congratulations on the Star Fruit sales, too, Milky!” another chuckled.

Leia smiled, feeling a surge of pride. *Heh heh. I knew Park Sejun would do it!* Selling the Seed of Abundance in Sejun’s shop was a great success.

‘Just 8912 more pieces of world energy,’ she thought, clenching her fist. ‘Then I can create my own world again, and be its true guardian!’

Suddenly, a message appeared before her: *[Park Sejun, the Tower Farmer of the Black Tower, proposes the position of proxy deity of Inos, with a 99 to 1 share.]*

Leia gasped, her eyes wide. She had once been the guardian of countless worlds, but all were lost, destroyed long ago. Now, she was happy just to have a small temple to her name.

But… ‘He’s trusting me with a world? Inos?’ Even as a proxy, it was an incredible chance. If Inos thrived, she would gain more divine power and authority.

And he was even offering a 1% share! It seemed small, but it was far more divine power than she got from her temple. In the past, she had made other gods proxy deities with no share at all, just for the chance to grow stronger.

‘Park Sejun is truly generous,’ she thought. “Accept!” Leia said quickly, before he could change his mind and offer it to someone else.

Then, filled with excitement, she shouted, “Believe in Park!!!”
