Dawn on the 99th Floor of the Black Tower.
Baetbaet woke up after sleeping well and started her day.
She began by eating fruit in the cafeteria, as usual.
“Baetbaet! Open up!”
I’m going to use this to travel with Sejun later!
Dreaming of the day she would travel through other worlds with Sejun, Baetbaet continued to open and close the magic door, making it bigger each time.
While traveling through different worlds like this,
“Baetbaet! That’s meat that makes Sejun stronger!”
Flap.
She found locusts invading a world called .
I have to take that!
Baetbaet couldn’t miss the food to make Sejun strong.
Plop. Plop. Plop.
She quickly planted many leek leaves. They were strong and green, with edges as sharp as knives. She put them everywhere she saw locusts crawling.
Baetbaet could attack the locusts herself. But that would hurt their bodies too much. She wanted to keep them whole.
After planting the leek leaves, Baetbaet went to a quiet place and
“Baetbaet Spin!”
“Baetbaet Driver!”
“Baetbaet Super Drill!”
She practiced the skills she had created, trying to find good names for them.
Baetbaet spent hours training her skills and naming them.
However,
“Baetbaet… I don’t like any of them.”
She couldn’t find a skill name she liked.
Baetbaet wanted to create the perfect skill name and show it to Sejun, but
“I can’t do it alone. I should ask Sejun to name my skills!”
She decided to ask Sejun, who was great at naming things.
The thought of Sejun creating a new skill name for her made her
“Baehehe.”
So happy!
A pink smile appeared on Baetbaet’s face.
Maybe she didn’t like the skill names because she wanted Sejun to name them.
“Baetbaet! I have to go back now!”
When Baetbaet finished training and went to the leeks, she saw many dead locusts. They had died from eating the sharp leek leaves.
And
“The great god of leeks has sent us leeks to destroy evil!”
“Thank you, great leek god!”
“Great leek god, please have mercy and send us more leeks!”
Next to the leeks, the Skudo tribe were bowing and praying. They were cute, short, and chubby, like little dwarves.
“Baetbaet! Park Sejun gave us those leeks!”
So she hurried to correct them.
“Baetbaet! I am Sejun’s helper, Baetbaet!”
She also wanted them to know she was Sejun’s friend.
“Great Park Sejun, please protect us!”
“Baetbaet, helper of the great Park Sejun, please give us leeks!”
So, the Skudo tribe praised Sejun and Baetbaet and started to worship Sejun as their protector.
Baetbaet made Sejun the protector of .
She planted leeks around the Skudo tribe’s village and took care of the locusts there.
“Baetbaet! If you put locust meat in this hole, Sejun will be happy!”
She had the Skudo tribe cut up the locust meat and put it into the magic door.
A few hours later.
A huge mountain of locust meat was on the 99th floor of the Black Tower.
“Baetbaet! I got a lot of meat to make Sejun stronger today!”
Baetbaet said happily as she looked at the pile of locust meat.
And
“Baetbaet… I need to get a skill name from Sejun…”
She went home and waited for Sejun to wake up.
Baerorong.
She fell asleep quickly.
***
“Oop!”
Sejun woke up with energy today, too.
[300,000 people in think you should be their protector.]
[You are not strong enough to be the protector of .]
[Please choose someone to be the protector of for you.]
[You can take away their title at any time.]
“Hehehe.”
It seemed Baetbaet had been busy.
He smiled as he read the message.
He knew how he became a protector, so he knew what was happening.
There was nothing special about being a protector. Even if Sejun had power, he couldn’t use it.
However,
He could get a title.
If he chose someone to be the protector for him, all his stats would increase by 50 and his power by 2 because of the title.
I should praise Baetbaet tonight.
Since it was Baetbaet’s sleeping time, Sejun knew he would have to stay up late.
At that time,
Gnorong.
Ppilorong.
Kkirorong.
Eomrorong.
···
..
.
“Huh?”
One of the snoring sounds caught Sejun’s attention.
Ppiyot.
There was a white-headed tit, Ppiyot, sleeping on Theo’s paw, using Theo’s fur as a nest, while Theo was sleeping on his lap.
Indeed, Theo’s right front paw.
‘Did Yuren come with her?’
Sejun smiled as he looked at Ppiyot and then,
“Meow…”
He carefully lifted Theo and placed him on his lap so that Ppiyot would not fall off.
Looking closely, Ppiyot was holding Theo’s paw tightly with her feet, so it didn’t seem like she would fall off.
Squeak…
Sejun then put the Blackie family in a sling bag and
슥.
He drew a line on the wall and started his 465th day in the tower.
As Sejun came out of the bedroom,
Yurorong.
Yuren’s snoring could be heard from the guest room.
She came with her after all.
Sejun quietly closed the front door so as not to wake Yuren and went outside.
Then,
“Wow.”
Is this all locusts?!
He saw the huge mountain of locust meat that Baetbaet had brought.
And
[Sejun, eat this meat and get stronger! – From Baetbaet]
Also the sign in front of the locust meat mountain.
Baetbaet…
Sejun was touched by Baetbaet’s gift.
I should give her a gift too…
He walked around the farm thinking about a gift for Baetbaet.
After walking for about 30 minutes,
[The wheat thanks the farmer’s footsteps and adds strength.]
[The Master of Crops’ Great Gratitude is activated, increasing the magic stat potential from 7167 to 7177.]
The wheat thanked Sejun and increased Sejun’s potential. The wheat Cecilia gave him had no ability, so its name was just Wheat.
Thud. Thud.
Sejun, whose potential had increased, continued to walk, and when his strength potential increased once again,
Kkueng!
Kkuengi, who had woken up from his sleep, came to find Sejun.
“Kkuengi, did you sleep well?” Sejun asked gently.
Kkueng! Kkuengi replied happily.
Kkuengi, a small, furry creature, stayed very close to Sejun. It rubbed its face against Sejun’s leg, leaving its smell on him, like a pet marking its owner.
“Kkuhehehe,” Kkuengi chuckled softly.
Sejun smiled and stroked Kkuengi’s head as they walked through the green farm. The morning sun was warm and bright.
*Pitter-patter, peep!*
[Hello, Sejun!] Bbyot chirped.
Bbyot, a small bird with bright blue wings, woke up and flapped its wings quickly and excitedly. It flew up to meet Sejun’s eyes to say hello.
“Yes, Bbyot. Did you sleep well?” Sejun asked kindly.
Bbyot!
[Yes!] Bbyot answered in an excited voice.
“Nyaaang! Puhuhut. Sejun, I slept well too, nyaang!” Theo purred.
Theo, a fluffy cat, stretched his legs and answered with energy.
“Good,” Sejun said, smiling.
He stroked Theo’s soft fur.
“Nyaang!” Theo purred again, rubbing his head against Sejun’s hand.
Bbyot!
[Theo, here! Take this!] Bbyot offered.
Bbyot gave Theo a large money pouch, almost as big as itself.
It was full of money collected from people who owed money to Yuren.
“Puhuhut. Thank you, Bbyot!” Theo said, pleased.
Theo stroked Bbyot’s head gently, like Sejun stroked his. He then opened the pouch.
“Nyaang?! Why is there so much money?!” Theo exclaimed in surprise.
Inside, there was a huge amount of money. Theo’s eyes widened as he looked at it.
Bbyot!
[I caught everyone on Yuren’s list of people who owed him money!] Bbyot announced proudly.
*Puff!* Bbyot puffed out its chest, making itself look bigger. It felt very proud of itself.
“Nyaang?! You caught *everyone* on the list?!” Theo asked, impressed.
Bbyot! Bbyot?!
[Yes! Did I do a good job?!] Bbyot chirped, looking up at Theo and Sejun.
“Puhuhut. Sejun, here is the money!” Theo said, handing the pouch to Sejun. “And Bbyot, you did wonderfully! I will give you a special treat – you can ride on my head for three whole hours!”
Theo gently placed Bbyot on his head.
Bbyot?! Bbyot! Bbyot!
[Really?! I get to ride on Theo’s head! I’m so thrilled!] Bbyot squeaked with joy.
Bbyot felt incredibly happy to be sitting on Theo’s soft, fluffy head.
“Puhuhut. Finally, I’m going to Yuren’s house!” Theo thought to himself, a sly smile spreading across his face. “I heard Yuren’s house is full of treasures!”
Theo had been wanting to visit Yuren’s house for a long time, even before Yuren had asked him to come. He had heard rumors of Yuren’s wealth and was eager to see it for himself.
While Theo was dreaming of riches and Bbyot was simply enjoying the ride on Theo’s head, Sejun went to the kitchen.
As Sejun entered the kitchen, he saw a wonderful breakfast waiting for him. White rice bowls, plates of grilled spam, golden fried eggs, and stir-fried potatoes were set out perfectly on the wooden table. Sejun No. 1, a helpful clone of Sejun, had prepared everything right on time. The smell of the food was delicious and filled the warm kitchen.
“Kkuengi, could you go get Yuren for breakfast, please?” Sejun asked. He was about to ask Kkuengi because Bbyot was still happily riding on Theo’s head.
*KABOOM!*
A huge, crashing sound exploded from outside.
“What was that?!” Sejun exclaimed, startled.
He ran out of the kitchen and stopped in shock.
“Oh no! Our house…” Sejun gasped.
The house was a mess of broken wood and shattered pieces. It looked like a storm had hit it.
Then, Yuren stepped out from the wreckage, brushing dust off his clothes as if nothing unusual had happened.
“Uhehe. Looks like the house broke again today,” Yuren said with a shrug.
It was just like Yuren. He was known as the King of Misfortune, and bad luck seemed to follow him everywhere. His day, and everyone else’s, had started with a disaster.
Soon after, using his magical ability to fix things quickly, Sejun rebuilt the house as if nothing had happened. Then, everyone sat down to eat breakfast.
“Kkuhehehe. Kkueng!”
[Hehehe. Putting spam on rice and then a fried egg on top is the best way to eat it!] Kkuengi declared happily.
“Uhehe. No, no,” Yuren chuckled. “Putting spam on a spoon, then rice on top, and then more spam is even better!”
Kkuengi and Yuren started trying different ways to eat their breakfast, arguing playfully about which was tastier.
*Kkihihit. Kking!*
[Hehe. Butler Sejun! Dried sweet potato with white rice is the most delicious!] The Blackies chirped. Dried sweet potato was always their favorite food.
“Puhuhut. Sejun’s grilled fish is so good, nyaang!” Theo purred, enjoying his meal.
Bbyot!
[Peanuts are the best!] Bbyot added, munching on peanuts. Theo and Bbyot always ate grilled fish and peanuts for breakfast.
As Sejun ate his rice, something special happened. Because of the magic in the rice he grew, a message appeared in his mind:
*[You have eaten a lot of rice today. The magic of ‘Rice is Medicine’ is working! Your body is becoming stronger.]*
*[Your Strength, Stamina, Agility, and Magic are increasing.]*
Sejun smiled. In the past, he used to worry about these messages. He felt like he was losing something when his power grew too much and then returned to nature. But now, he understood.
“Hehehe. It’s delicious,” Sejun said, enjoying the taste of the rice.
He knew that even if some power seemed to disappear, it was actually making him stronger in a way he didn’t fully understand yet. It was like putting money into a savings account without realizing it was growing.
“Ah, I’m full,” Sejun said, feeling satisfied after breakfast.
He took out a single rice seed from his pocket. It was a special seed, glowing slightly.
*Drip.*
He carefully dropped the last drop of a magic liquid, called Enhancement Potion, onto the seed. This potion made things better.
Sejun used it on the rice seed because he ate rice every day, and making the rice seeds better seemed like a good idea.
As the potion touched the seed, a message appeared in his mind, telling him that the taste of the rice would become even better, and the ‘Rice is Medicine’ magic would become stronger, healing his body even more.
“Good,” Sejun murmured, pleased with the improved seed. It was now a +1 Golden Rice Seed, even more special than before. He carefully planted the seed in the soil.
*Drip, drip, drip…*
Next, he used drops of another magic liquid, Harvest Potion. This potion made seeds grow faster. He used ten drops to quickly create more seeds from the single one he had. Soon, he had many new rice seeds and started planting them in the wet field he used for growing rice.
Late that evening, when the stars were out.
(Baet Baet! Huh?! Sejun, are you still awake?!) Baet Baet’s voice echoed in Sejun’s mind.
“Yeah, Baet Baet. I was waiting to play with you,” Sejun replied with a smile.
“Puhuhut. I, Theo, am also waiting, even though I could be sleeping, nyaang!” Theo added dramatically.
Kkueng!
[Kkuengi is a little sleepy, but I want to play too!] Kkuengi mumbled, trying to stay awake.
Baet Baet was happy to play with his friends again after a long day.
*Chirp, chirp.*
*Growl, growl.*
…
..
. The Blackie family, who were usually full of energy, were already fast asleep.
(Baet Baet! Guess what! Sejun, I learned a new move! Can you give it a name?) Baet Baet asked excitedly.
“Really? Show me this new move first,” Sejun said, intrigued. He was known for giving good names.
(Baet Baet! Okay!) Baet Baet replied, eager to show off.
*Whoosh!*
Baet Baet flew up quickly, folding its wings tight to its body. It spun around and around in the air, creating a swirl of wind. Then, it zoomed down towards the ground with a powerful slam.
“Hmm, that’s impressive,” Sejun said, watching Baet Baet’s move.
Baet Baet kept spinning and showing off.
As Sejun watched, a name popped into his head. It felt like the perfect name for the move.
“Baet Baet,” Sejun announced, “from now on, let’s call that move… Baetdol.”
(Baet Baet! Baetdol?! I love it!) Baet Baet chirped happily.
Baet Baet thought everything Sejun did was wonderful.
And so, Baet Baet’s first special move was named Baetdol.
