Black Tower, 99th Floor.
Iona had her office on the 99th floor of the Black Tower.
“Okay, Blackster, you are now officially the Magic Tower Master!” Iona announced, her voice filled with excitement after completing the handover.
Blackster, whose magical talent was truly exceptional, had greatly improved his skills while working on the tasks Iona had given him. Iona was thrilled to have found a successor.
Iona had been saying, “Blackster, you’re going to be the Magic Tower Master within the next month!”
“Huh? Me?!” Blackster exclaimed.
“Yes! Just know that!” Iona replied.
Iona had pushed Blackster’s magical skills so he could take over her position as Magic Tower Master.
Finally, Iona had escaped the burden of being both the Head of the Mages’ Association and the Magic Tower Master of the Black Tower. She felt so good that she could handle any insult with a smile.
Of course, she would still respond if someone actually insulted her.
However, there was a downside.
“I will work hard…” Blackster said, his voice very gloomy.
It was understandable. It was already tough, but it would be much harder once he became the Magic Tower Master.
Blackster knew how much work the Magic Tower Master had to do because he had been helping Iona.
“Why me?” he thought. “I don’t want this job.”
Becoming the Magic Tower Master might be someone’s dream, but…
‘I’m already only sleeping 10 hours every three days…’ he thought.
Would he even be able to sleep in the future?
Blackster, now the Magic Tower Master, was not happy at all.
“Then, good luck!” Iona said.
With that, Iona left the Magic Tower feeling carefree, leaving Blackster behind.
Now I’ll have more time to spend with Theo! she thought.
She went to find Theo to share the good news.
“Theo isn’t here!” she exclaimed.
Theo was not in the Black Tower.
She thought, ‘Search.’
He’s definitely by Sejun’s side, she figured.
Iona quickly focused and searched for Sejun’s subspace warehouse.
Using Sejun’s subspace warehouse for dimensional travel magic would use less mana and make the magic more stable.
A moment later, she found him!
“Gate of dimensions, open!” Iona shouted.
Blue light swirled around her, and with a whoosh, she disappeared from the 99th floor of the Black Tower.
“Kids, let’s have dinner. Tonight, we’re having fried squid,” Sejun announced.
Sejun placed a plate piled high with fried squid in the center of the table, and Kkuengi wiggled his butt and cheered.
“You guys come and eat too,” Sejun said.
“Yes, sir!” Badin replied.
“Thank you!” said one of Badin’s subordinates.
Badin and his subordinates, who had been watching Sejun cook with the fire moths, reluctantly sat down at the table.
They were nervous watching Sejun cook with the monsters they had just killed.
It smelled good, but… cooking with monsters?!
They knew what the ingredients were.
However, hearing the sound of Kkuengi eating the fried squid…
“Huh?!” one exclaimed.
“Oh…?!” another said.
Their hearts began to waver.
Badin and his subordinates swallowed their saliva, wondering if they should try just one bite.
They picked up a piece of fried squid, dipped it in soy sauce like Kkuengi, and carefully put it in their mouths.
Badin and his subordinates were shocked by the taste of Sejun’s cooking.
“This is so delicious?!” they thought.
The fried squid was too delicious, contrary to their expectations. It also had a special effect that enhanced fire attacks.
While they were eating dinner, Badin explained the next route to Sejun.
“Sejun, I think we should move north to eliminate the petrification spiders, and then move east to eliminate the flesh-eaters,” Badin said.
Badin had a large information network that covered almost all of Avian, and he used it to find disasters.
“Then, tomorrow morning, we’ll have king crab ramen,” Sejun said.
Kkuengi cheered at Sejun’s words while eating fried squid.
“Then, let’s leave right away,” Sejun said.
“Yes, sir!” Badin replied.
Sejun and his group rode their horses through the dark desert. The dark desert stretched out around them, the sand cool under the night sky. A cold wind whispered past their ears.
It would be faster to fly, but Sejun wanted to ride a horse and travel through the desert.
“I want to go on a desert tour,” Sejun said.
He could do this because most of the residents of Avian were nomadic people. They listened to the information Badin provided and moved away from the disasters, so the damage was not significant.
Badin was unknowingly creating a good image for himself among the residents of Avian.
Sejun got on his horse for the desert tour.
“Giddy up!” Sejun shouted.
The horse responded with indifference to Sejun’s words.
“Listen to the words of the great Hybrid Park CEO! Depart, meow!” Theo said.
“Stay still, meow! You’ll be in trouble if you don’t listen to Daddy, meow!”
When Theo and Kkuengi spoke, the horse suddenly began to understand what they were saying.
Instead, it trembled a little.
“Too bad. I was going to let the great Blackie punish you,” Blackie added with an arrogant expression.
It sounded like a bluff, but it wasn’t. If Blackie had stepped in, the horse’s soul would have been destroyed.
After riding the horse north for about 5 hours, the petrification spiders were visible.
[Sejun Company employee, hero of Avian, brilliant star of the desert, Badin, has eliminated the petrification spiders.]
[Sejun Company employee, hero of Avian, brilliant star of the desert, Badin, has acquired 250,000 experience points, which is 25% of the experience acquired.]
[Black Tower’s luckiest guy, Park Theo…]
[Superior herbalist, Park Kkuengi…]
“Everyone, fighting!” Sejun cheered for his party while riding his horse.
“Ahem. Stay still!” Sejun shouted at the horse that was just standing still.
A moment later, Sejun leveled up and became level 170.
[A job quest has occurred.]
[Job Quest: Even just a thousand years ago, Avian was a place with vast green meadows. However, due to an unknown heat, the meadows lost their vitality and turned into a desert. Find and eliminate the unknown heat and bloom 10,000 flowers in Avian.]
Reward: Level 171 unlocked, 300 billion Tower Coins, all stats +1000
A job quest message appeared in front of Sejun.
Find and eliminate the unknown heat and bloom 10,000 flowers?
“Create storm clouds!” Sejun shouted.
Sejun, having confirmed the quest, used the skill Thunder and created storm clouds in the sky.
The sky within a 60km radius of Sejun was covered with storm clouds.
As he ate Mana Full Blue Beans and Transcendence Black Beans at the same time, the storm clouds became even larger.
With his mana amplified 16 times, the radius of the storm clouds also widened 16 times, completely plunging the surrounding area into darkness.
“Rain,” Sejun commanded.
Sejun began to make it drizzle. There was no need to rain a lot, as the purpose was to moisten the ground in advance for when he would farm later and to find the unknown heat.
“Squeak!”
“[Master! I’m all wet!]” Blackie shivered, his fur dripping rain. He grumbled, “I’m soaked!”
“Alright, alright,” Sejun said, a little annoyed but also understanding. He pushed open a heavy door – the entrance to his special storage space – with a *creak*. He stepped inside, out of the pouring rain, and watched his friends fighting outside.
“Meow!” cried Theo. *Kooeng!* Theo and Kooeng were fighting most of the petrification spiders. “Die!” shouted Bardin, as he struck down the last few. Bardin’s men just watched, getting drenched in the rain. These spiders were too dangerous for them to fight without getting hurt.
Soon, the rain stopped. Sejun was tired from using his magic. “Hehe. Sejun, it’s over, meow!” said Kooeng. *Kooeng!* “[I want to eat snow crab ramen soon!]” added Theo. They came back, having defeated all the spiders.
“Load them quickly!” Bardin ordered. “Be careful not to break the legs when you load them!” Bardin and his men started carrying the dead petrification spiders into the storage space.
“Hehehe. Just a minute,” Sejun chuckled. While they worked, Sejun heated water for ramen. He also got some of the spider legs ready to cook in the ramen and grilled three fish for Theo.
The ramen was ready quickly. *Slurp.* The group started eating. “Rainfall,” Sejun murmured, and a gentle drizzle began again outside. Eating snow crab ramen inside the storage space, while watching the light rain… It was a wonderful feeling. The delicious smell of ramen filled the air, making everyone even hungrier.
*Hehe.* It looked so good. Sejun quickly took a spoonful of the ramen broth and put it in his mouth. *Gulp.* “Kuh,” he sighed happily. The cool and spicy broth went down, making his stomach feel instantly better. It felt like a perfect way to wake up, even though he hadn’t been drinking alcohol.
*Slurp. Slurp.* Sejun ate the ramen quickly, enjoying every bite. When he finished, he asked, “Anyone want to add cold rice?!” *Kooeng!* Kooeng immediately raised his paw high. Bardin and his men also raised their hands, copying Kooeng. They had learned that Kooeng knew the best way to enjoy food.
“Here you go,” Sejun said, handing out bowls of cold rice. *Slurp.* Everyone mixed the rice into the leftover ramen broth and started eating again.
Breakfast was done. They set off towards the east, where the Flesh-Eating Predators were. Two hours later, *Keee-ack!* They saw a group of Flesh-Eating Predators moving across the desert.
“We will take care of these,” Bardin said confidently, stepping forward. *Step.* “Wait,” Sejun said, stopping him. Then, Sejun used his power. “Gate Summon!” *Thud.* A shimmering gate appeared, a doorway to another place – the 10th Tower. *Click.* Sejun put a key into the gate, opened it wide, and shouted, “Come on out, everyone!”
Then, *Kiki! Kiki!* A wave of Doomsday Predators rushed out of the gate when Sejun called. *Kiki!* They stared at the Flesh-Eating Predators, who seemed to have a dark, dangerous energy around them. *Keee-ack!* The Flesh-Eating Predators felt scared and angry at the sudden appearance of these creatures. But *Kiki! Kiki!* More and more Doomsday Predators kept coming. Soon, the Flesh-Eating Predators were surrounded. *Munch. Munch.* The Doomsday Predators started to eat away at the dark energy of the Flesh-Eating Predators. Sejun knew that just stopping the Flesh-Eating Predators was enough for his task, so he didn’t need to defeat them completely.
Soon, *Kiki! Kiki!* Only Doomsday Predators were left. “Alright, everyone, go back now,” Sejun said. He told the Doomsday Predators to return. *Kiki! Kiki!* The Doomsday Predators lined up neatly and went back through the gate to the 10th Tower.
Then, *Hee hee hee. Squeak! Squeak!* “[Hee hee. Everyone, let me tell you about the amazing things I, Blackie, have done! Just now, the master… ]” Blackie started telling the Doomsday Predators, who were waiting to go back, all about his great deeds. He was talking about how Sejun tried to make him eat less, but he had bravely protected his sweet potato snacks – a very silly story. *Is he really proud of that?* Sejun thought, rolling his eyes at Blackie. Suddenly, “Meow?!” Theo looked around, surprised.
“Theo, what is it?” Sejun asked. “It’s Iona, meow!” Theo replied. *Clang.* He quickly opened the door to the storage space. Then, “Oink oink oink! Sir Theo!” Iona was right behind the door, ready to come out. She rushed towards Theo.
“Hehe. Iona, be careful, meow! You might get hurt, meow!” Theo said, gently catching Iona. “Oink oink oink. Yes!” Iona replied happily. She knew she wouldn’t really get hurt falling from there, and she could even fly, but *Oink oink oink. Sir Theo was worried about me!* Iona nodded, feeling very happy that Theo cared.
“Welcome, Iona,” Sejun said. “Oink oink oink. Hello, Sejun,” Iona replied. She went to Theo and held onto his tail. “Bardin, where should we go next?” Sejun asked. “They say giant bloodsucking leeches have appeared to the southwest,” Bardin answered. “Really? Then let’s go right away,” Sejun said. “Yes!” Bardin agreed. Sejun and his group headed towards the next problem.
Soon, “Oink oink oink. Power of gravity, drop the stones from the sky onto our enemies! Meteor!” Iona chanted. Giant rocks fell from the sky, and the giant bloodsucking leeches quickly became dry and brittle, like dried seaweed. “Rainfall,” Sejun said. “Everyone, please load the dried leeches over here.” Sejun made rain clouds and it started to rain. He showed Bardin and his men where to put the dried leech seaweed.
Just then, *Sssssss.* There was a spot where the rain disappeared as soon as it touched the ground, making a hissing sound. It was different from everywhere else. *Kooeng?!* Kooeng was curious about the sound and went closer. *Sniff sniff.* “It smells like herbs, meow!” he said. A faint smell of herbs was coming from under the ground. *Hehe. Sejun will be so happy, meow!* Kooeng started digging. He dug and dug, and suddenly, a lake of hot lava appeared!
And then, he saw it: “[Baby Puppet Flame Herb]”. On a small island in the middle of the lava lake was the herb Sejun needed to become even stronger as a farmer in the tower. *Kooeng!* “[Kooeng found it, meow!]” Kooeng was so excited to be praised by Sejun that he flew towards the island. Suddenly, a deep voice boomed, “-Who is there?!” *Boom.* The small island began to rise out of the lava.
