The Land of Destruction was a place of ash and broken stone. Dust filled the air, making it hard to see. As the first Wall of Destruction crumbled with a loud crash…
A message appeared: **[Great Achievement! First Wall Destroyed!]**
Sejun was surprised. A Great Achievement? He’d seen achievements before, but this sounded bigger.
*Heh heh heh.* What amazing prize would he get this time?
Just then, another message popped up, in a less happy tone: **[Reward: Judge of Destruction Authority. Currently Unavailable.]**
*System 371* was being annoying again!
“Another setback?” Sejun muttered, rolling his eyes at the message. “Honestly!”
As if it heard him, another message appeared: **[Finding alternative reward!]**
“Hurry up then, System 371!” Sejun thought impatiently.
**[System 371]** and **[System SJC]** seemed to work quickly. A few seconds later, more messages arrived.
**[Reward: Weak Resistance to Destruction.]**
**[Reward: Epithet: Wall Breaker.]**
**[Reward: Job Talent: Master of Farming.]**
**[Reward: Stats increased by 3000.]**
**[Reward: 10 Gyeong Topcoins.]**
**[Reward: 0th floor stay cost reduced by 15%.]**
“Okay, that’s… not bad,” Sejun admitted, looking over the list. *Weak Resistance to Destruction* sounded useful, and *Wall Breaker* was a cool title. *Master of Farming*? Well, that was new.
A bright light formed in the air, becoming a smooth, white crystal that pulsed gently.
“Huh? Is this a waypoint?”
Thump.
As Sejun placed his hand on the white crystal,
[ [Northern Base of the First Wall of Destruction in the Land of Destruction> Waypoint has been saved.]
The waypoint was saved.
“Oh. I was worried about having to come all the way here, but I don’t have to.”
Sejun was pleased that the travel distance had been reduced, saving time.
The Destruction Pioneers, creatures like giant beetles with sharp claws, moved forward, protecting the slower, slug-like Destruction Devourers.
Sejun slowly followed behind them, diligently planting the seeds of Destruction Pioneers and Destruction Devourers.
“Let’s head back now,” Sejun said to Theo and Iona.
“Understood, nya!” Theo replied.
“Yes,” Iona added.
Sejun returned to the Temple of the Creator God with Theo and Iona to make food.
While they cooked, Sejun sighed. “But what about gifts for Aileen and the others?” he wondered aloud. “I’m stuck on that.”
“Don’t worry, Chairman Park!” Theo said confidently, puffing out his chest. “Leave it to Vice Chairman Tae!”
Sejun raised an eyebrow. “Oh really? Got any brilliant ideas, Vice Chairman?”
“Not yet!” Theo admitted cheerfully.
Sejun stared at him. “Wait, you told me to trust you!”
“But trust my paws!” Theo insisted, holding them up proudly. “My golden paws will find the perfect gifts!”
Sejun chuckled, shaking his head. “Okay, okay. I trust your paws, Theo. Let’s see what you come up with.”
A few hours after talking with Theo, as dinner time approached,
“Let’s go back soon. Ah. I have to leave the snacks behind,” Sejun said.
Sejun left the snacks to be delivered to the Creator God and returned to the Black Tower with Theo and Iona.
As soon as Sejun returned, Kamang was angry again because he wasn’t taken with them.
“Grrr. Butler! Where have you been without the great Kamang! If you keep doing this, it won’t be fun!” Kamang exclaimed.
“If it’s not fun? Huh? What are you going to do?! Do I have to report to you where I’ve been?” Sejun retorted.
“Buttler! I was wrong!” Kamang replied.
He had time to reflect while Sejun grabbed his cheeks and dangled him.
While Kamang was being scolded, Kooeng flew in.
“Hehehe. Daddy, Kooeng is here!” Kooeng announced.
“Okay. Let’s eat,” Sejun said.
Sejun had dinner with his party.
The dinner menu was curry made with turmeric that Kooeng had dug up.
He had been eating it for several days, but depending on the ingredients, various variations such as vegetable curry and chicken curry were possible.
In addition, depending on what you eat it with, such as curry rice, curry tteokbokki, and curry udon, there are many other menus, so you don’t get tired of it.
But now there’s no turmeric…
Today was the last day for curry too.
The ingredients ran out before he got tired of it.
Sejun ate the last curry for dinner.
“Heh heh heh. I’m full. Kooeng, shall we have dessert?” Sejun asked Kooeng if he wanted to eat dessert.
“Hehehe. I like it!” Kooeng replied.
“Heehee. Butler! The great Kamang wants to eat dessert too! Give me extremely delicious dried sweet potato!” Kamang chimed in.
“That’s a meal. Don’t you know what dessert is? Dessert?” Sejun said, ignoring Kamang.
“Dessert *after* food is dessert! It’s all the same once it’s in your tummy! You just don’t get it!” Kkamangi barked, sounding angry.
“No, it’s not the same,” Sejun said.
“Squeak! Squeak!” Kkuengyi agreed with Sejun.
“Yes, it is! Everything Great Kkamangi says is right!” Kkamangi insisted.
“You!” Sejun was annoyed that Kkamangi kept saying he was right. He reached out to tickle Kkamangi.
“Squeak! Run away!” Kkamangi squeaked and quickly ran off.
“Tch. For a sunfish, he’s fast,” Sejun mumbled. He went to the kitchen and made two strawberry yogurts. He and Kkuengyi ate them happily.
“Here you go. Dessert,” Sejun said to Kkuengyi.
He also gave Kkamangi a dried sweet potato for dessert. Sejun had wanted to make Kkamangi a special sweet potato drink, but Kkamangi had refused it. He didn’t know how lucky he was!
*Smack. Smack. Smack.*
*Hee hee.*
“Delicious!” Kkamangi was just happy to eat, not thinking about anything else.
As they ate their dessert, Sejun looked up. “Wow, the stars are so bright tonight.”
The night got darker.
In the dark and desolate Land of Destruction, a powerful being known as the Corruption spoke.
“Go,” it hissed.
*Bang!*
The Corruption sent a creature made of pure thought and darkness out of its land. This creature, a “mental entity,” was filled with the Corruption’s power. The Corruption had made it so strong that it could even kill Sejun if they met.
The Corruption wanted to catch other mental entities it had sent out before, but some had already gone past the fifth Wall of Destruction. These Walls were like invisible barriers around the Land of Destruction, keeping its power contained. The Corruption itself could not cross these walls to chase after them.
*If I cross the wall, Sejun will be in danger,* the Corruption thought. The Walls not only created distance, but they also weakened the Corruption’s power, stopping it from spreading too far. The Corruption was trapped, alone in its land, like a lonely god. And it was Sejun, strangely, who was keeping this powerful being trapped.
The first Wall of Destruction Sejun had broken was the weakest. Now, the Corruption was weaker too, so the Walls hardly stopped its power at all anymore. That’s why Sejun wasn’t hurt when he broke the first Wall.
“Heh heh heh. Found another one,” the Corruption chuckled darkly.
“Please let me go! Help me!” a weak voice cried.
“Heh heh heh. Be quiet,” the Corruption said. It found another mental entity, struggling and afraid. In one gulp, it swallowed the entity, taking back its power.
*Pop!*
It sent the newly powered-up entity out again.
*Bang!*
Banished from the Land of Destruction.
With each entity it swallowed, the Corruption became a little weaker. Now, it was only 30% as strong as it used to be.
“Heh heh heh. Soon, it will be time to meet Sejun,” the Corruption whispered, looking forward to their meeting.
A short time later.
“Heh heh heh. My thought is awake,” the Corruption said, feeling a connection. It joined its mind and spirit with the mental entity it had sent out.
And then…
*It’s Sejun!*
Through the eyes of its mental entity, the Corruption could see Sejun.
*Park Sejun, you don’t hate me. You don’t resent me. You will be with me forever.*
A strange, red madness began to glow in the Corruption’s eyes.
The next morning, Sejun stretched and yawned. “Oof.”
He saw messages appear in front of his eyes:
> **Quest Complete!**
> **[World’s Aura Freed from Corruption]**
> **Rewards: All stats increased by 8. Stay cost on the 0th floor reduced.**
> *Stay cost reduction: 0.00011%*
“Heh heh heh,” Sejun chuckled. “Almost there!”
He checked his stay cost reduction. It was now 93.30411%. Just a little more, about 6.7%, and he could finally go back to Earth for free! He smiled, feeling happy.
“Meow…” Theo purred, rubbing against his leg.
“Squeak…” Iona squeaked softly.
Sejun’s good mood lasted all day as he looked after Theo, Iona, and Kkamangi.
Five days later, a deep rumble shook the ground. *Kugugung.*
The second Wall of Destruction had fallen. The creatures Sejun called “Destruction Pioneers” had protected the smaller “Destruction Devourers” from the snake monsters. Not many Devourers were lost this time. In fact, their numbers had grown to 50 trillion! Because of this huge army, the second Wall broke much faster than the first.
Sejun had spent the last five days planting only Destruction Pioneer seeds. More Pioneers meant more protection for the Devourers. The Pioneers themselves were also stronger and faster now, planting seeds five times quicker than before.
“No reward message this time,” Sejun said, a little disappointed. It seemed the system only cared about the *first* time he broke a Wall.
Just then, a strange feeling washed over him. *Gooo.* Some of the dark power from the broken Wall started to leak out.
> **[Weak Destruction Resistance activated!]**
Sejun’s special power kicked in, fighting against the dark energy. It wasn’t very strong, but it was enough to make him feel dizzy for a moment. He managed to stay standing, though.
> **[Waypoint saved: Second Wall of Destruction, North side.]**
Relieved, Sejun saved the location. “Haha! Hee hee!” he laughed, feeling better. He followed the Pioneers and Devourers as they moved north, planting more seeds. Then, he went back to the Temple to cook dinner.
While cooking, Sejun spoke to Theo, who was curled up on his lap. “Theo, aren’t you going to look for that gift? May 5th is almost here!” Sejun was starting to worry. He had trusted Theo to find a special gift, but he hadn’t seen any sign of it yet.
“I don’t feel anything yet, meow!” Theo said, sounding annoyed. “I, Theo Vice President, am working hard! I’m searching, meow!”
“Okay, okay. Sorry to bother you. Keep searching,” Sejun said.
“Puhuhu. Of course, meow!” Theo puffed out his chest, acting important. He closed his eyes, looking proud.
But then… *Goro long. Kkyu long.* Sejun heard snoring. Theo was fast asleep with Iona!
“Hey!” Sejun couldn’t take it anymore. He grabbed Theo’s cheeks, feeling angry.
“Meow… I’ll go look now, meow! Iona, let’s go, meow!” Theo finally got up, looking grumpy. He and Iona went down from the tower.
And then, an announcement echoed through the Black Tower:
> **[Alert! Black Tower 99th Floor Mushroom Ant No. 1: Vice President Theo and Iona are descending!]**
Suddenly, the whole Black Tower became tense. Everyone knew that Theo, the “gangster cat,” and Iona, the “Great Destruction Magician,” were heading down.
