Black Tower, 66th Floor.
Theo sighed, a small sound like a sad cat. “No spark… still nothing.”
Theo looked sad.
Iona chuckled, a sound like little giggles. “Cheer up, Theo! There are still 66 floors left.”
“I understand!” Theo said. “I’ll try again!”
“That’s the spirit,” Iona said with a giggle.
Theo, encouraged by Iona’s words, felt his energy return and continued exploring the tower.
[Black Tower 66th Floor Red Oak Watch Carefully From Afar: The two of them have gone down now.]
[Black Tower 65th Floor Lizardman Rild: I’m scared. (Shivering)]
[Black Tower 59th Floor Green Goblin Paku: The two of them aren’t as scary as you think. Just don’t make them angry.]
Everyone living in the Black Tower knew where Theo and Iona were, like a message system for workers.
The next day, in the afternoon, Sejun was cooking in the Temple of the Creator God when he suddenly spoke, “I should probably prepare a gift for Aileen too, shouldn’t I?”
He knew Theo would bring good things, but just giving her that didn’t feel thoughtful enough.
Really, he was worried Aileen wouldn’t understand how he truly felt.
A gift filled with my heart is needed.
Tap tap tap.
“What should I prepare?” Sejun wondered, starting to shred carrots.
After shredding carrots for a while, he took out onions, and then an idea popped into his head.
“I’ll sing her a song!” Sejun decided, feeling confident.
‘A song I made.’
A completely original song, no less.
“She’ll definitely like it. Heh heh heh,” Sejun grinned, imagining Aileen’s joy when she heard his song.
“I’ll have to make it with Batbat this dawn. Hmph hmph hmph.”
Tap tap tap.
Having decided on Aileen’s birthday gift, Sejun felt relieved and cheerfully chopped onions while humming a tune. As he worked, night fell.
“Alright. Everyone to your positions!”
Moo!
Kke-ack!
Whirr!
The farm family scattered, responding to Sejun’s instructions.
As time passed and midnight approached, a blue moon rose in the night sky, bathing the land in a blue light.
The Blue Moon had risen.
Wolgang, Wolha, Heukwolbok, Ppyu-ppyu, and Heuktochi seemed to shimmer as the blue light touched them, and then they appeared instantly beside Sejun.
“Hey! You made it!” Sejun smiled as the rabbits appeared.
Ppyu-ppyu?! Ppyu-ppyu!
[Master, isn’t here?! Yay!]
Ppyu-ppyu cheered, not seeing Iona.
Because he wouldn’t have to do homework until the next Blue Moon.
No way!
I was able to sleep comfortably these days…
Conversely, the black rabbit’s face turned pale as he despaired.
“What have you been up to lately, Heuktochi?”
Bbaek! Bbaek.
[I’ve been training hard! Bbi-hit. I think I can beat Uncle now.]
Heuktochi answered Sejun’s question with a sly smile.
“What?! Huhu. You’re still 300 days too early to beat Uncle,” Sejun said, shaking his index finger at Heuktochi as if it were impossible.
Bbaek. Bbaek.
[No, I can win.]
“Alright. Then let’s ask Umawang to test you.”
Bbaek!
[Okay!]
Sejun and Heuktochi went to Umawang to see who was stronger.
Moo.
[Sejun can last 15 minutes with two fingers, Heuktochi can last 14 minutes and 55 seconds? No. 57 seconds.]
“Huh?!” Sejun wasn’t happy, even though he beat Heuktochi by a huge(?) difference of 3 seconds.
I ate the Black Bean Set?
It was because he had eaten the full +2 Black Bean Set, which included the Transcendence Black Bean, Power Burst Yellow Bean, Stamina Strong Red Bean, Agility Swift Green Bean, and Mana Overflow Blue Bean, increasing all stats by 32 times.
But I lost to Uncle even after eating an SSS-grade carrot?!
It was the same for Heuktochi.
Heuktochi’s unique talent, Carrot Doping, which amplified his stats for one hour depending on the grade of the carrot he ate, had increased all his stats by 30 times.
It was an incredible talent worthy of the legendary Black Rabbit.
Heuktochi is getting so strong, I need to get stronger too!
Uncle wasn’t just playing around either!
I need to buck up too!
As Sejun and Heuktochi acknowledged each other,
Moo.
[Both of you have become stronger.]
Umawang wore a pleased expression at their growth.
However, if you think about it, Umawang, who endured the two of them with just two fingers while they were doped, had become the strongest of the three.
Because in the past, when the two of them were tested, Sejun lasted 3 minutes and Heuktochi lasted 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
In the end, if the growth achievements during that time were evaluated without doping, the result was Umawang >>>>> Heuktochi > Sejun.
While they were being tested,
Sssss.
Blue crops that had absorbed the energy of the Blue Moon appeared on the farm,
“Let’s start,” Sejun said, and his party began harvesting.
A short while later,
“Goodbye, everyone!”
The rabbit family, who had received the SSS-grade Blue Moon Carrot and regular carrots that Sejun had packed, went down.
Kuoong.
[Good night, Sejun.]
Kkueng!
[Good night, Daddy!]
“Yeah. Sleep well,” Sejun said goodnight to Kkuengi and Pink Fur.
“Kkamangi, let’s sleep.”
Kkihihit.
He lay down on the bed with the Kkamangi family and closed his eyes.
And Kkiroong.
Eomdoreong.
Kkirurung.
···
..
. As the Kkamangi family fell asleep, he carefully placed them, who were sleeping on his chest, onto the bed and went outside.
Then,
Flap. Flap.
(Batbat! Sejun, why did you wake up?)
Batbat, who was playing alone, flew to Sejun, greatly pleased.
“I have something to do.”
(Batbat? Something to do?)
“Yeah. Batbat, can you do me a favor?”
(Batbat! Yes! What is it?)
Batbat, without even hearing the request, immediately agreed and then asked the question.
“It can’t be done here, so first, create a dimension door for me.”
(Batbat! Yes!)
A rush of air, *whoosh*, filled the small space as Batbat, in a flurry of wings, opened a shimmering portal. *Thud, thud* went Sejun’s heart as he stepped through the swirling doorway Batbat had made. In a blink, everything changed. A message popped into his mind: **[You have arrived at the 4th level world [Tsuine].]** “Tsuine?” Sejun whispered, his eyes widening. *This* was Tsuine? A wide grin spread across his face. *Treasure! There must be treasure here!*
“(Sejun? Are you alright?)” Batbat’s voice, full of worry, echoed in Sejun’s mind.
“Ah, Batbat, guess where we are? This is Tsuine!”
“(Tsuine?! *This* Tsuine?)” Batbat squeaked in surprise.
“We’ve been searching everywhere! And we found it just like this?”
“Yes,” Sejun chuckled, “Thanks to you, my clever Batbat.”
He gently lifted Batbat and stroked his soft fur. Batbat purred with delight.
“Now,” Sejun said, a new idea sparking in his eyes, “I have a special request. Let’s write a song together.”
“(A song? For me?)” Batbat tilted his head, confused but interested.
“Not exactly for you,” Sejun smiled. “It’s for Eileen. Her birthday is coming up, and I want to give her a song.”
“(Oh! A present for Eileen!)” Batbat exclaimed.
“(Then let’s use the song coupon! I haven’t used it yet!)”
“That’s right,” Sejun confirmed. “This is a very important favor.”
“(Batbat! Okay! Let’s do it!)” Batbat chirped happily.
“First,” Sejun said, leading the way, “let’s find a quiet spot, away from the portal.”
“(Batbat. Yes.)” They moved to a more secluded place, where their music wouldn’t be disturbed.
“This song,” Sejun began seriously, “it’s going to be a birthday gift for Eileen.”
And so, they began to work on their song.
“(Batbat. How about we start with, ‘Though we are far apart’?)” Batbat began to hum a sweet melody, his voice clear and bright as he added lyrics on the spot.
“Oh, that’s lovely!” Sejun chimed in, adding his own words, a little more sentimental: “We feel each other’s hearts beat~ We’ll meet when stars align~ Our destiny, it’s meant to be~” Batbat continued to weave the music, even when Sejun’s singing was a bit off-key. Batbat, the musical genius, somehow made it all sound charming. *Actually, it’s not half bad,* Sejun thought, surprised. He got caught up in the fun, and together they crafted their song.
Suddenly, a voice called out, “Hello? Who’s there?” A man emerged from the shadows of the trees. He looked like he had been camping nearby and had followed the sound of their music.
“Oh, sorry if we were too loud,” Sejun apologized. “Didn’t realize anyone was around.”
“No, no, it’s alright,” the man said, waving a hand. “Couldn’t sleep anyway. That music… it was beautiful. Would you mind if I just listened for a bit?”
“Of course, please do,” Sejun replied, and they went back to their song. Time was short, and Eileen’s birthday was fast approaching.
A little while later, the song was complete.
“Excuse me,” the man said hesitantly, his eyes shining with excitement. “I’m a bard, you see. And that song… it’s incredible. Would you… would you possibly let me sing it?” He looked truly hopeful, like he hadn’t had a good song in ages and knew this one was special.
“I’m really sorry,” Sejun said kindly. “This song is a gift for my girlfriend. But, tell you what, I know some other good songs. How about I teach you one of those?” Sejun then shared a popular tune he knew.
“(Batbat. Sing it like this for him.)” Batbat, with perfect pitch, sang the song again for the bard to learn.
“Well, we should get going,” Sejun said.
“Thank you so much!” the bard called after them, already humming the new tune. As Sejun and Batbat walked away, the bard stayed up all night, practicing the song. The next morning, as soon as the sun rose, he hurried down to the nearest village.
“Hear ye, hear ye! A new song for you!” he announced at the local tavern, and began to sing the song Sejun had taught him. And so, it is said, this bard became legendary, bringing a fresh new style to the music of Tsuine.
“Hmm hmm, hmm hmm,” Sejun hummed softly as he stepped back through the portal into the Black Tower, the melody of their new song still in his head. **[The Tower Administrator asks where you have been all night without sleep.]** Eileen’s voice echoed in his mind.
“Oh! Uh, Eileen! Batbat found a world with hidden treasure! Right, Batbat?” Sejun said quickly, nudging Batbat.
“(Batbat? Uh… yes… treasure…)” Batbat mumbled, his voice wavering slightly. He wasn’t a good liar, and Eileen would usually see right through him.
**[The Tower Administrator says, her voice now bubbling with excitement, to bring the treasure to her warehouse immediately!]** Luckily for Sejun, Eileen’s ears perked up at the word “treasure,” and she completely missed Batbat’s nervousness.
“Well,” Sejun said, trying to sound casual, “we haven’t actually *found* the treasure yet. I was just going to grab some breakfast and then go explore with the others.”
And just like that, “treasure hunting” was added to Sejun’s already overflowing to-do list. *First, some work,* he thought. *Before breakfast.* He decided to visit the 10th Tower first. Theo was still out, so the Disaster Farm would have to wait. *Click.* Sejun turned the key to the 10th Tower and pushed the door open.
**[The god without divinity, Her, demands you quickly pay the rent!]** Her voice boomed in his mind. Her month of “impeachment” was over, but he still hadn’t managed to pay her rent and let her return.
“Right, right,” Sejun sighed. At that moment, a small, shimmering glass bottle appeared in his hand.
**[Elixir of Charisma]** *Drinking this elixir will boost your charisma for one hour. It can help you impress others or make better deals.* *The effect is weaker now that the creator’s power is gone.* *Remaining: 5 drops* *Use: Anytime* *Made by: Her, the god without divinity* *Grade: B*
“Charisma?” Sejun frowned. *And it’s only Grade B?* He wasn’t sure when he’d ever need this. But a promise was a promise.
“Okay, Her,” he said aloud. “Impeachment lifted.” He reinstated Her and got ready to start farming.
Black Tower, 58th floor.
“Meow…” Theo stretched his front paws, his whiskers twitching as he focused intently. Just then, a cheeky voice yipped in his ear! *Yip!* **[Theo is away from his post! Let’s go to Chairman Park first!]** It was Baektang, and his words were even cheekier!
“He dares to try and steal Chairman Park’s lap, meow!” Theo hissed, fur bristling. *No way! I’m going first, meow!* Forgetting all about the present he was supposed to be finding, Theo launched himself upwards with a *Nyan Nyan Bullet*, shooting towards the 99th floor.
“Puhu! Chairman Park, I’ve missed you so much, meow!”
“Kkyuk kkyuk kkyuk! Me too!”
“Oh! You’re already here?” Sejun exclaimed as he stepped back into his tower room.
*Squawk!* **[Big brother is here!]** *Kee hee hee! Squeak!* **[Welcome back, big brother!]** The little rabbits and the chick were already there, bouncing around his feet. And then, with a triumphant *Meow!*, Theo landed right on Sejun’s shoulder.
“Chairman Park! I feel a pull! Treasure is this way, meow!” Theo declared, pointing with his paw in a specific direction.
