November 2nd. After a Black man, who was originally destined to be the next master of American history after George W. Bush, lamented the ruthlessness of politics and briefly stepped down, Bush once again became the master of the White House.
As expected, it wasn’t as close as it was in the original timeline. Of course, it’s not like North Korea, which has now disappeared, where he got 100% support, but at least it wasn’t a vote count that would raise eyebrows in a proper democratic country.
“Congratulations on your overwhelming victory and successful re-election.”
The administration had been reorganized once, but the core figures, the backbone, remained the same. For example, Andrew Card, the Chief of Staff, was applauding Bush, who was bewildered by the sudden increase in the ‘mountain of documents’.
“What is this?”
“What else could it be? Documents you need to approve.”
Bush looked puzzled at the enormous stack of documents, which gave him the illusion that he was back at the beginning of his administration.
“That’s strange. If my prediction is correct, about 90% of this shouldn’t be here.”
Wasn’t the transfer of power for that purpose? Of course, the main purpose was to decentralize the power that had become too concentrated, but it was also to reduce the unmanageable workload.
“The President has been very busy. I was personally a little embarrassed, but these are things that the President must review and approve.”
“Damn it, that can’t be.”
Saying that, he picked up the first document that came to hand and read it. Indeed, the title was truly extraordinary. The title alone was three lines long, but to summarize it:
‘Deploy a large number of SLBMs [Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missiles] in the Arctic Ocean? What kind of crazy bastard came up with this?’
Bush threw the document on the desk as soon as he saw the title.
“Chief of Staff, who initiated this?”
“Don’t you know?”
It was the people who were united around Dick Cheney. Dick Cheney was a reliable center and a means of Bush’s reign, but sometimes he would run wild to the point where he couldn’t be controlled at all. Like now. However, it was fortunate that they weren’t trying to ignore Bush. They were definitely Bush’s people, even if they were a little radical.
“There’s no need to look. I’ll have to reject it. They wouldn’t have submitted it thinking it would be approved.”
*We have these intentions, so we hope that the President will take them into consideration.* That’s probably what they meant when they submitted it.
Bush also had a somewhat reckless tendency towards Russia, like the ‘espionage crisis’, but a large-scale SLBM deployment in the Arctic Ocean?
This was beyond the pale, and it was nothing more than a declaration of *’We want war.’* Not just any war, but a nuclear war where fallout falls from the sky and the sea is contaminated with radiation.
“The first document I see on my first day back in office is such a terrible document. Could it be that everything else is like this?”
Bush lightly scanned the mountain of documents with a fearful look. White is paper. Black is ink, but those simple things looked more terrible than any waste in the world.
“Maybe? I haven’t reviewed everything. But there are some that are okay. For example, ‘New Highway’.”
“I don’t know what’s okay about it. Experts have already cross-validated several times and are building a new highway on the most optimal route, and you’re going to add more? Do you think the national budget is overflowing with honey? More than that, why did this even come up here? These are things that should be handled by each department. Or the Federal Assembly [The legislative branch of the US government]!”
Of course, all the parliament does is pass bills that are favorable to them and reject bills that are unfavorable to them, but still, shouldn’t they handle it there?
It’s not that the parliament or each department isn’t working. It’s just that they’ve been beating them up all day, saying that they can’t do their jobs properly for about three years, and at some point, their judgment has become a little clouded.
Bush leaned back in his chair as if he had lost his strength, and then tilted his head back. Then he muttered, *’I’m going to end this damn presidential position this term and never look back,’* and then turned back around.
“Isn’t it because the President has taken so much away? They’ve been so humiliated that they’re probably afraid to take it over. Or maybe there was some lobbying involved? Do you know anything about this?”
“If I were to investigate every single lobby like that, I wouldn’t be able to see even half of them even if I looked at them all day long. Just do what you’ve been doing.”
To be honest, everything has been boring and stale lately. The items to be signed were neither boring nor stale, but Bush was only human after all. Even games made for people to enjoy become boring, so how could work not become boring?
*’Well, I’m better off. If it were another president, they would have been dealing with lobbyists as soon as they took office.’*
Where does the election money come from? It’s all sponsored, isn’t it? Private sponsorships are just that, sponsorships.
They’re just ‘donations’ or ‘help’, not actions that expect a proper return. It’s similar legally.
However, political sponsorships are different. Lobbies are things that aim for a legitimate return. Of course, if you can eat them raw and throw them away like Bush, it’s a different story, but there’s a reason why the days when deep states and illuminati had credibility and approached the public existed. There are still people who believe it quite seriously, aren’t there?
The keynote of the Bush administration and the keynote of the Kennedy administration are all the same externally.
Resolving unemployment rates and income inequality. A true nation of the people, economic development. Those are easy-to-understand goals for anyone, and each person adds their own small dreams and tendencies to them.
For example, ‘Obama Care’ is a representative example. If you summarize these into one, it’s ultimately the people’s livelihood, but only the lens through which each administration implements it changes.
Anyway, to sum it up, the government is somewhat dragged around by lobbying. Then, the stories they told during the election evaporate, and whether they like it or not, they are dragged around by the vested interests to pay off the debt of lobbying, so in the end, you can only see differences in small parts that are not felt.
Because reality is like this, people may believe in conspiracy theories that are of no use to the people’s lives.
“My body aches. No, I have to say it again. My body is just aching, but my eyes are burning.”
“That’s a big problem. Shall I call the doctor?”
“No, I think you’ll be enough. Sort out those damn lobbyists’ documents. This time it’s a sea tunnel. A sea tunnel. There’s something else. The Kra Canal [A proposed canal that would connect the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Thailand]? It’s good to connect the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Thailand. But why are *we* doing it?”
Of course, I don’t know if we can get direct and indirect economic benefits in the long term. But it was never a construction project that we should take on.
In the first place, it was a miracle that such a proposal even came up here. Of course, our wise President crumpled the proposal without hesitation and threw it to his pet cat White, who was always on the chair, as a toy.
If you’re going to invest in a canal, you might as well expand the Panama Canal. Do you think national policy exists for personal gain or dreams? Of course, it might be possible if it coincides with the interests of the country. Even the smartphone in Bush’s pocket was one of those things.
*’With this, iOS can be confidently touched by the NSA (National Security Agency) [A national-level intelligence agency of the United States].’*
Since a lot of government funds were invested, it was natural. However, that didn’t mean that they were openly interfering.
It meant that they would touch it when necessary. That alone would be a bolt from the blue for Apple, but originally, nothing is more important than national security. In other words, they can do anything to protect the people.
*’Still, I’m glad that the NSA doesn’t run wild like the CIA [A civilian foreign intelligence service of the U.S. Federal Government].’*
He still vividly remembered how they tried to expand the interpretation of his orders and commit all sorts of atrocities. Conversely, it also meant that what they had been doing was originally this kind of thing.
Serving in the shadows of the country. However, Bush hated what was happening in the shadows. He didn’t feel much need for it.
However, it wasn’t that he didn’t really need it, and he just wanted them to focus on blocking like a shield rather than wielding it like a sword.
“Emergency document.”
Bush had never been so happy to hear the word emergency during his tenure. It was because he was happy to see the arrangement of letters that were at least valuable after looking at only garbage.
“Is the war finally over after dragging on for months?”
Even so, he felt like he was walking on thin ice in everything he did. Fortunately, the civil war through force did not break out again in the Middle East as Bush had feared.
*’And the bad thing is that the EU is now cornered. Thanks to that, our administration is in a position to set new goals.’*
With terrorism still breaking out against EU forces in the Middle East, what world peace are you talking about? They’re meddling here and there, but wars are breaking out on a large and small scale. It’s fortunate that it’s ending at the level of a civil war and not a total war between countries.
However, Bush was not the type to change the principle he had set just because the situation was not favorable. Bush fiddled with the corner of the report a few times and began to read it carefully, unlike other documents.
“Maintaining the status quo?”
“Yes. South Ossetia remained an unrecognized country, and Georgia is still claiming that South Ossetia is Georgia’s inherent territory. However, a ceasefire has been decided.”
If South Ossetia remains an independent country rather than being annexed by Russia, Georgia will shout that it is a divided country created by Russia in the distant future, but that was a distant future. In the current situation, it was highly likely that South Ossetia would be annexed by Russia.
“Are there any intact cities in Georgia?”
“No. Georgia is ruined.”
The answer came immediately without even a moment’s hesitation.
“That’s very firm.”
“However, it would be different if the EU restored it. Well, isn’t the reason why this war has lasted so long anyway because of the EU’s support? At least Georgia didn’t have a completely vain dream. It showed that it had the time to recover and the will to do so. Shall we send relief supplies?”
“Georgia doesn’t need us to send them. More than that, did you definitely replenish the amount I specified?”
The amount was referring to relief supplies. Large-scale relief supplies to be dropped around the world in preparation for the Indonesian earthquake.
“We’ll have to use it soon. Relief supplies that are piled up without being used are meaningless. And there’s also the expiration date issue.”
“We’ll be using it at least within this year.”
The best thing is that there is no need to use it, but that is impossible.
Bush couldn’t do anything about nature, no matter how people or countries did. If it’s a hurricane, maybe.
Since the number of Chinese factories has changed, all the conditions that affect the generation of hurricanes have changed, so they may not be generated on the scheduled date, but the power that works from deep within the earth will not change.
“Huh, are you making a disaster prediction? You’re like a shaman from some ancient tribe. It’s not suitable for modern times when we predict the weather with satellites.”
In the future, the Chief of Staff realized painfully that his mouth was a disaster.
