49. Encounter with My Brother (2)
Crispin’s chest rose and fell sharply, his breaths ragged.
He was visibly nervous about approaching his brother.
After a moment, Crispin cautiously began to speak, as if addressing his brother directly.
“Brother… I caused you a lot of trouble, didn’t I? …I’m sorry. And… thank you for not telling on me until the end… Thank you so much.”
Crispin looked very anxious after he finished speaking.
But then his expression brightened.
“What did my brother say?”
“He says it’s okay. He’s even happier that he got in trouble instead. Haha. As expected, my brother is really kind! He always protects and supports me.”
Soon, a lingering feeling that hadn’t fully matured into guilt within Crispin’s heart dissipated, and his unique energy radiated outward.
Theo could completely sense that emotional release.
‘Hmm… Fortunately, one suppressed emotion has been resolved… But this emotion is just a small one. It’s not the deep wound that’s severely restricting Crispin right now.’
*
It had been over three hours since he had been hypnotized.
Theo was getting tired, perhaps because he was expending energy for the first time in a while.
It seemed like they had to stop for the day.
Theo woke Crispin from his hypnosis, dusted himself off, and turned to the Earl and Countess, who had been watching.
“Earl, I think we should stop the treatment here today. I’ll come back tomorrow morning. Both Crispin and I must be very tired.”
The Earl of Maxwell grasped Theo’s hand and thanked him profusely.
“Yes, I understand. Thank you so much for your hard work today. You’ve worked so hard. It’s been so long since I’ve seen Crispin so bright.”
“It’s nothing. Fortunately, he responded quickly, and I’m very happy that the treatment is having a positive effect.”
The Countess hesitated and asked cautiously.
“Does that mean our son… will be well enough to stand at the wedding?”
Theo shook his head.
“Madam, no. That’s not the goal. We’re not rushing the treatment to have him stand at the wedding.”
“Yes? What do you mean…?”
“This is a treatment aimed at complete recovery, ensuring this never happens again.”
The Countess asked with a startled look.
“You can cure him before the wedding?”
“Yes. Standing at the wedding shouldn’t be a problem, and fortunately, based on his current condition… I believe a full recovery is possible by then.”
The Earl and Countess were overjoyed at Theo’s confident answer.
“Then, I’ll see you tomorrow morning.”
“Ah, yes! Yes! Thank you. Thank you so much.”
With that, Theo got into the carriage, his body feeling heavy, and headed home.
***
The next day, early in the morning.
When he arrived at the Earl of Maxwell’s house, the Earl and Countess were personally waiting at the door with the butler.
And they looked very cheerful.
In particular, the Countess’s eyebrows were raised, and the muscles around her eyes [orbicularis oculi] were crinkled, revealing her genuine joy.
“Mr. Sanderson. You know, Crispin slept deeply for the first time in two months last night. He’s still a little expressionless and dazed, but his face has become much brighter. How can he change so much in just one day? It’s so amazing… and I’m just so grateful…”
“Ah, that’s a relief.”
Everyone has wounded emotions deep in their hearts.
However, the degree to which they acknowledge and suffer from them varies greatly from person to person.
Even with similar wounds, some people lightly brush them off as if they were nothing, while others struggle in pain for the rest of their lives because of the wound.
Yesterday, a few of Crispin’s wounded emotions were resolved with a small healing, which lightened his heart and allowed him to sleep deeply for the first time in a while.
But it is by no means a fundamental cure.
If the deepest wound that is restricting Crispin isn’t found and resolved quickly, the improvements will be temporary.
“Is Crispin in his room?”
“Yes. He’s sitting on the bed.”
The wedding is just around the corner. We have to finish the treatment soon.

Knock knock.
Clunk-
He knocked and entered the room, but Crispin was still staring out the window with a dazed face, just like yesterday.
However, Theo could quickly notice that he was showing friendly feelings.
It was a natural reaction because his body and mind felt much more comfortable after Theo’s visit yesterday.
Patients who suffered from severe trauma and did not respond to medication felt stable and comfortable just by meeting Theo after hypnotherapy, and Crispin seemed to have experienced that feeling.
Theo sat silently next to Crispin.
Considering the story of his childhood and the strange behavior at his brother’s memorial service, it seemed certain that Crispin’s wounded and stunted emotions were formed in his relationship with his dead brother.
He was usually bright and had good relationships with people, but in his subconscious, there were wounded emotions related to his brother, so he felt unknown anxiety and severe depression from time to time.
Then, as the recognition of his brother’s death, which he had been pushing away and denying, became more intense due to his brother’s memorial service, the hidden emotions exploded and showed abnormal signs.
When I was doing psychotherapy in the United States, I sometimes encountered emotional problems with family members who were no longer alive.
If the emotional problem between family members is the cause of the wound, it is sufficient for the parties to meet directly to resolve and release their emotions.
However, in the case of emotional wounds about family members who no longer exist, there was a problem in that there was no one to meet and resolve directly.
In this case, the patient often lives with a large wound due to hatred or guilt, further restricting their emotions.
People who have not experienced it may not understand their hearts and point fingers at them for being weak, but those who live with emotional wounds are more distressed and suffer more than outwardly visible wounds.
Then, there were often cases of making irreversible tragic choices.
Therefore, when dealing with emotions related to family members who are no longer alive, you must approach them much more carefully.
“Now, lie down comfortably like yesterday.”
Theo soothed Crispin with everyday words and had him lie down on the bed in a comfortable position.
Perhaps because he had the experience yesterday, he was able to enter hypnosis immediately.
“Now you will go to your brother Daniel, whom you must meet and speak to now. One, two, three.”
Snap-.
Crispin’s body, which was highly susceptible to hypnosis, showed an immediate reaction.
He closed his eyes, but his pupils were constantly rolling.
It was clear that his brother had appeared before him.
“Do you see your brother in front of you?”
“…Yes. Sob.”
But, Crispin was suddenly sobbing.
Theo was also nervous at the sight of Crispin sobbing as soon as hypnosis began.
And he was on high alert for the distinctly different colors of emotion emanating from his expression and body.
Theo sensed that the emotion being emitted now was the trigger for the problem.
The wounded emotion that he had been searching for for three hours yesterday suddenly surged up.
‘This is the emotion! The emotion that has been suppressing Crispin so much!’
He had unexpectedly found the wounded emotion he had been looking for so quickly, but it was too early to be happy. The important thing was from now on.
It would be a disaster if Crispin were to come out of his unconscious state. Theo quickly intervened in the emotion.
If even a small mistake occurs and the emotional line is missed, an unfortunate event may occur that will miss an opportunity that will never come again.
“Crispin? What does your brother look like in front of you?”
“······.”
“You don’t have to try too hard. Just tell me what you see naturally.”
Crispin, who had stopped sobbing, opened his mouth with difficulty.
“My brother is going on a trip… He’s standing in front of the carriage in clothes to leave far away…”
It seemed like he was talking about the day he was going to a French sanatorium, which the Countess had mentioned yesterday.
“I see. You were very sad that your brother was going far away? Then shall we go to your brother and talk to him? You have to say goodbye, right?”
“I’m… I’m scared. If I talk to him… I feel like my brother will disappear forever before my eyes.”
“You don’t have to be afraid. I’ll keep watching by your side, so you don’t have to worry about your brother disappearing. Just go to your brother comfortably and tell him what you wanted to say or what you couldn’t say, and tell him to have a good trip.”
“······.”
However, Crispin could not easily approach despite Theo’s encouragement.
“It’s okay. Don’t be afraid, and say what’s in your heart. Your brother is waiting for Crispin more than anyone else, right? If Crispin approaches with that heart, then your brother will speak to you too. Now, be brave.”
Crispin, who had been hesitating, became rougher at Theo’s words that he would be waiting.
‘He’s approaching Daniel…’
And after a while, Crispin opened his mouth in a trembling voice.
“Brother? Are you leaving for France to get treatment? It must be hard.”
Crispin, who seemed to be looking at something, continued with difficulty.
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry… Brother. Back then… back then, I was too young… I didn’t know you were so sick… I only thought you were leaving me and going on a trip far away. I really didn’t know you were going to receive such painful treatment… Sob.”
But Crispin, who had been sobbing, turned pale and shouted urgently.
“W-what should I do? My brother… my brother is just looking at me and not saying anything! He’s just looking at me with cold eyes. I’m so scared.”
Theo gently patted Crispin’s chest, who seemed impatient, and guided him.
“It’s okay. There’s no need to rush. Relax and let go of your fears. Your brother loves Crispin more than anyone else, right? If Crispin approaches with that heart, then your brother will speak to you too. Now, your brother will speak directly to you. One, two, three.”
Snap-.
Crispin’s breathing was getting faster as if he was catching his breath. And soon he opened his mouth again.
“My brother… says he’s fine, he’s just fine, so why are you crying like a fool.”
“See that. Your brother was waiting for you. If you have anything else you want to say to your brother, don’t hesitate and say everything.”
Crispin, who seemed to have regained some stability, began to slowly reveal the wounded emotions that had been hidden deep in his subconscious.
“Brother… why… why did you leave without saying a word to me even though you were going to leave for so long? I didn’t know that… Do you know how much I waited for my brother every day…? Sob…”
Crispin was crying sadly like a 7-year-old child.
The Countess, who had been watching from the side, also covered her face with both hands and sobbed quietly.
The sad memories of that day came to her mind, and she was also overwhelmed with emotion.
To 7-year-old Crispin, his brother Daniel was a blood brother and a reliable friend that he could not trade for anything in the world.
He was a brother who was sometimes difficult, but he was always trying to protect and care for him.
But one day, such a brother disappeared without a word, and did not return even after a day, two days, or a year.
Crispin fell deeply into longing, hatred, betrayal, and endless loss for his brother who had abandoned him, and the wounded emotions he received at the age of 7 were hardened into a lump and fixed in one place in his heart.
After some time, he learned that it was not his brother’s betrayal, but for some reason, the deep wound in his heart showed no signs of being resolved and only hid deeper.
The brother who had grown up and returned after 4 years was not the same as before. Rather than being happy, hatred and resentment came first, and he could not share any emotions.
And in a state where those suppressed emotions were not properly resolved, his brother passed away.
“Now, what does your brother say? If there is a sound you hear, say it with your mouth.”
Crispin’s chest, whose emotions had intensified, was heaving violently.
“My brother… says he didn’t know he would be there for so long either. He said he thought it would only be a few months at most. He said he wanted to play with me so much that he cried every day… He said he didn’t betray me… He says he’s sorry… Sob.”
The emotions of a 7-year-old boy were emanating from Crispin’s expression and gestures.
The wounded emotions that had been suppressed and unresolved were rapidly dissolving as they had a deep conversation with the object [his brother’s image in his mind].
Crispin asked his brother as if he were acting spoiled.
“But… why… why didn’t you buy the marble I asked for on the day you came home? You bought everything for Kailena and Mary… why didn’t you buy mine…? What? …Really? Is that true…?”
Theo asked the calmed Crispin.
“What does your brother say about the gift?”
Crispin’s chest was no longer heaving, and he was not breathing heavily.
It was just that his closed eyes were moving busily here and there as if he was surprised by something.
Crispin slowly opened his mouth.
“He bought… he bought my gift, but he said he couldn’t give it to me because I kept avoiding him… Brother, what? He said he put the gift in our secret place…? Then you mean he put it in the wooden horse…? …Really?”
In that way, Crispin continued his pleasant conversation with his brother for a long time.
The conversation with his brother in his subconscious quickly resolved the suppressed and wounded emotions, and clearly shifted from the process of ‘sadness and anger’ to ‘joy and forgiveness’.
“Doesn’t your brother say anything else?”
Crispin, who had no answer to Theo’s question, suddenly burst into laughter.
“Hahaha.”
“Why is that? Did your brother tell you something funny?”
“No, no. My brother says he’s annoyed now. He says he’s too comfortable here, but he’s too annoyed because I keep calling him. The appearance of my young brother grumbling that he’s annoyed is so small and cute. Haha.”
In his childhood, the unknown separation and the resulting sense of betrayal of his brother remained as a deep wound in Crispin’s subconscious.
And after his brother died, the sense of loss that there was no one to resolve plunged him into despair and endless guilt, and eventually led to severe depression.
As if it was his responsibility that his brother had left this beautiful world and gone to the dark and cold other world, Crispin blamed and restricted himself.
Was that why? His brother’s words that he was annoyed that his younger brother kept looking for him were rather greatly comforting Crispin’s heart.
When wounded emotions are resolved, the patient’s appearance is completely different.
Crispin’s soft smile and warm expression were telling Theo that he was now close to recovery.
‘The emotions that he had been forcibly trapping and unable to grow are finally being released.’
In that way, Theo confirmed with his own eyes the process of resolving the various emotions pouring out of Crispin’s face and body.
Now it seemed like the time had come to let go of the emotions related to his brother for the last time.
The time had come to make an eternal farewell to the lump of emotions from his childhood that had been constantly infiltrating Crispin’s head and forming severe depression, loneliness, and anger at himself.
