◈ 493. Just Leave It Alone
Rembrary blankly raised his hand, then glanced at Lumena and asked,
“Lumena, what should I do?”
“Did it not work well?”
“The fragment went through. But there’s a tremor from beyond the wall…….”
He was about to say there was a tremor, but the tremor disappeared. Should he say there was a tremor, or that there wasn’t?
Rembrary turned his gaze to the wall, then looked back at Lumena.
Lumena must have felt the energy from the wall too. Unexpectedly, a smile was forming on Lumena’s lips.
“Lumena? What’s wrong?”
The sight of both corners of her mouth turned up in satisfaction was not the expression of someone bewildered by an unexpected phenomenon.
Could she have an idea about what’s going on?
Rembrary awkwardly lowered his hand from the wall and approached Lumena, asking,
“Lumena, why are you smiling so happily?”
“Why do you think I’m smiling?”
“To be honest, Lumena’s actions and thoughts are so different from Redrin’s that it’s hard to predict.”
“Others usually think the opposite. I’m normal. It’s that bastard you serve who’s strange.”
The ‘others’ Lumena was talking about couldn’t be humans, so she must be referring to other gods from the original world.
Rembrary reluctantly agreed.
Redrin was the strongest god, so the weaker gods were bound to be jealous.
There was no need to react to each and every one of them.
Lumena noticed the strange look that appeared on Rembrary’s face, but instead of blaming him, she simply put her hands behind her back and smiled contentedly.
On the other hand, the Fire Lion didn’t feel the divine energy from beyond the wall from beginning to end.
However, he could tell even without feeling the divine energy that Rembrary looked a little more flustered than usual and was looking at Lumena, while Lumena was smiling calmly.
The Fire Lion couldn’t stand the frustration as Lumena just kept smiling and Rembrary didn’t seem to be thinking of asking anything, so he stepped forward and asked.
“Please tell me what’s going on. I’m curious why Rembrary is acting like that and why Lumena is like that.”
As people’s attention focused on her, Lumena finally explained.
“The Demon King fragment was looking for the descendant of the priest that the ‘Sleeping God’ cherished. My Four Cardinals helped me find out.”
Rembrary interjected.
“Wasn’t he the one who betrayed Lumena?”
Lumena raised her chin slightly.
“He wavered for a moment, but that child returned to me.”
“What a bat [someone who switches sides].”
“Everyone wavers, you bastard’s child. What matters is that they correct their mistakes and grow.”
Lumena, who had been momentarily distracted by Rembrary, continued her story when she noticed that people were just staring blankly at her.
“So, I directly told him who the priest’s descendant was.”
Ardor was taken aback and asked, “Excuse me?” His tone revealed the impiety of asking why she would do such a crazy thing.
However, Lumena didn’t rebuke him for his audacity, but smiled again and said,
“However, the priest I told him about was a priest that humans arbitrarily established after the Sleeping God died. He was also the one who killed the priest that the god cherished.”
Isn’t that a scam? The Fire Lion’s eyes widened.
Ardor nodded and muttered.
“So, when the Grand Duke touched the wall, the ‘Sleeping God’s’ reaction wasn’t longing, but anger.”
Ardor thought that he would be just as angry if Shin Joowoon came and offered his hand when he thought Rembrary was coming.
Surprisingly, as soon as he had that thought, anger surged to the top of his head just from imagining it, so Ardor glared intently at Shin Joowoon, who was calmly standing by himself in the midst of all this.
Shin Joowoon didn’t react much because Ardor acting like that wasn’t a rare occurrence. Because he wasn’t his dog.
Meanwhile, Mullu, who had quietly grasped the situation on his own, nodded and muttered.
“Now that I think about it, that makes sense. If it was the descendant of the priest he cherished, he wouldn’t have given him severe insomnia.”
“Our Mullu is so clever.”
As Rembrary praised Mullu with a pleased expression, Ardor bit his lip in anger.
He wanted to prove that he was just as smart as Mullu, but he couldn’t think of anything to say.
Unaware of Ardor’s feelings, Rembrary then looked at Lumena and exclaimed.
“Lumena, you are indeed a friend worthy of Redrin. Our Redrin makes such great friends.”
It was a praise that subtly included Redrin, but praise was praise nonetheless.
Lumena chuckled and patted Rembrary on the back.
“Now, I’ll send you back to your world.”
Rembrary was thrilled at the thought of seeing Redrin, and Mullu clenched his fists in joy.
Shin Joowoon was also relieved at the thought of meeting the people he had left behind, and Sagamjae was relieved that the work hadn’t taken as long as he had expected.
Only the Fire Lion was sullenly thinking, ‘Why is Earth their world? They’re aliens too,’ but he wisely kept his mouth shut and suppressed his dissatisfaction.
“Let’s go to my residence first.”
At Lumena’s words, the Fire Lion sighed and held out both hands, and the group obediently stood by his hands.
However, instead of grabbing the Fire Lion, Rembrary approached the Grand Duke, who was standing blankly near the wall.
The Grand Duke stood there vacantly, letting the conversation between Rembrary’s group flow by, then raised his gaze as Rembrary approached.
“What’s the matter?”
“Let’s talk.”
“Talk? What talk? Do we have anything to talk about?”
“I do.”
Rembrary asked Lumena for a moment of understanding, then took the Grand Duke and walked along the cave passage.
Yeon Seungkyung followed, but was not sent back.
After passing through several winding paths, they arrived at a space where there were no people around.
It was still a cave, so the sound would echo even if they raised their voices a little, but this was enough.
Rembrary stopped the Grand Duke and asked.
“You. I’m sure you met me with ‘Black Eyes.’ What did he say to you then?”
“Listening to your companions chatter, it seems that Black Eyes and you are not the same person.”
“We are completely different.”
“Multiple personalities?”
Rembrary neither agreed nor denied, and asked again.
“What did he say to you? Did he make any strange requests?”
The Grand Duke seemed to hesitate whether to answer or not, then revealed.
“Just. He said he would return my ‘sleep’ if I helped him.”
“Anything else?”
“Well. But why are you asking this?”
“Are you sleepy now?”
“No.”
Rembrary stopped bombarding him with questions and stared at the Grand Duke with a troubled expression for a moment.
He wasn’t doing this on purpose. He was just a little worried about whether the Demon King fragment was really over.
The Demon King fragment was incredibly quick-witted.
Of course, he didn’t have a body here, and he didn’t have demonkin [demon relatives/followers] like his close aides, so he wouldn’t be able to cause as much chaos as he did on Earth, but still.
But this time, the Demon King fragment retreated too easily.
Lumena had devised a plan, but the Demon King fragment wouldn’t have been just playing around during that time. Can I really rest assured like this?
“Is there really nothing else you said when I was Black Eyes? Really? Not even one thing?”
“He did. Isn’t that why you came here, thinking you would have said it too?”
“What did he say?”
“It wasn’t anything special. Mostly words to entice me.”
“So. Are you sleepy?”
The Grand Duke shook his head.
Rembrary couldn’t understand for a moment why he was acting like that, as if there was something different between the promise he made with the Demon King and the promise he made with me.
It doesn’t seem like anything got better even if he joined hands with the Demon King?
Anyway, the fact that there was no change in the Grand Duke’s condition even after doing this much…….
“That’s unfortunate.”
“It’s okay. I can just find a new vessel.”
“Yeah.”
But I don’t know why he’s glaring at me while talking about finding a new vessel.
“Rembrary!”
The sound of the group calling him came from beyond the passage. It seemed like it was hard to delay any longer.
Rembrary patted the Grand Duke on the shoulder to encourage him and ran to the group.
As Rembrary went to the group, someone grabbed Rembrary’s arm.
Soon, they muttered incomprehensible words to each other, and then all of them disappeared from that place without a trace.
The noisy cave became quiet in an instant.
“It’s amazing no matter how many times I see it.”
Yeon Seungkyung muttered and went to the place where Rembrary’s group had been standing.
There wasn’t any device installed. What on earth did they do…….
At that time, Yeon Seungkyung hesitated and approached him, asking.
“Grand Duke, why did you lie to the blonde vessel [Rembrary]?”
Yeon Seungkyung heard what the Grand Duke had said to the blonde vessel when his condition was strange from the side.
At first, he had kept a little distance, but it was because the Grand Duke had called him closer.
‘Black Eyes’ Rembrary didn’t stop him, and Yeon Seungkyung listened to all of ‘Black Eyes’ Rembrary’s strange requests.
What ‘Black Eyes’ Rembrary instructed the Grand Duke to do was not only to follow him when he went to the Demonic Cult cave, and to touch the cave wall together when he touched it.
‘Black Eyes’ Rembrary instructed him to remember that location well, and then later bring people from certain families and have them do the same action one by one.
He didn’t tell him why he had to do that, but the Grand Duke, who had heard Rembrary and Yoo Mena talking, could roughly guess the situation.
Whether there was really a god sleeping beyond the cave or not was secondary.

Meanwhile, Rembrary and his group safely arrived at Lumena’s hideout thanks to the Fire Lion’s ability.
Because Lumena had to contact Redrin first, the group went inside the house to rest for a while.
They were happy to return to Earth, but crossing dimensions was not something to be taken lightly.
When Mullu and Ardor crossed dimensions to go to Earth, they experienced the side effect of temporarily losing their reason, and when the group came to this world from Earth, they experienced the side effect of being scattered in completely different directions.
They didn’t know what would happen this time, so they were planning to fill their stomachs and rest well.
However, Rembrary, who should have been the first to eat and rest, just sat near Lumena and stared blankly.
Even when asked what was wrong, he replied that nothing was wrong.
His expression was so serious that Lumena eventually stopped calling Redrin and approached him to comfort him.
“Don’t worry. Even if the Demon King fragment gets his hands on the Sleeping God’s body over time, it’ll be okay because I’ll still be here.”
“Will it be okay? There’s no high priest like me here who can help Lumena.”
“The Demon King fragment is just borrowing someone else’s body too. He won’t be able to use all of the original god’s power anyway.”
As Rembrary still looked worried, Lumena stood up Rembrary, who was squatting, and patted him on the back.
“Now, be good? I’m going to talk to your bastard, so you go behind there and look at the flowers.”
Grateful for Lumena’s consideration, Rembrary decided to accept the offer and stood up.
“I like those flowers.”
Lumena watched Rembrary obediently walk to the back of the house and continued to try to contact Redrin.
In order to open the dimension and throw and receive the children, she had to be able to reach him on the other side.
Why isn’t he answering again? But as Redrin didn’t respond as quickly as she had expected, Lumena became bored and slowly walked to the back, continuing to call out to Redrin.
As she did so, she saw an incredible sight.
Rembrary was plucking off one of his camellia petals.
“!”
