127.
Seo-a brought the drink to the table and sat facing Su-jeong.
Su-jeong took a long sip of the yellow shake in the large cup and made a satisfied face.
“Ah, delicious.”
Seeing this, Seo-a wanted to give Su-jeong a card and tell her to buy as much as she wanted, but Seo-a didn’t have that much money yet.
“Is it that good? I’ll buy it for you if we come here often.”
“Hehe, thank you. What brings you here today, sis?”
“Ah, well. I think I’m going on a raid soon.”
“Ooh, really?”
Seo-a told Su-jeong the truth, at least in simple terms.
Su-jeong, who had been listening quietly, reached out and gently covered the back of Seo-a’s hand on the table.
“Sis, Dong-saeng [younger sibling/friend] will be okay.”
“…Of course, he has to be.”
“I was just thinking how nice it would be if I had an older sister like you. I’m a little jealous.”
Su-jeong smiled as she said that. Seo-a smiled back.
“You can think of me as your older sister. If anything happens to you, I’ll rush over.”
Su-jeong’s face flushed slightly at Seo-a’s words, as if she was touched.
The two continued to talk about this and that. Su-jeong mostly talked, and Seo-a listened.
As their drink glasses were running empty, an alarm went off on Su-jeong’s phone.
“Ah, I have to go to training now.”
“The test is next week, right?”
“Yes, that’s right. Instructor Kim Cheol-du says I’ll almost certainly pass, but you never know.”
Su-jeong tidied up and got up from her chair. As she returned her cup and came out, Su-jeong said,
“Ah, but I feel a little disappointed every time we spar.”
“What about?”
“I wish I had just one ranged skill. I use up all my stamina chasing after them when they run away….”
The moment Su-jeong said that, Seo-a’s eyes lit up.
[Wish received from Hunter ‘Kang Su-jeong’. Skill ‘Genie of the Lamp’ is activated!]
[Hunter ‘Kang Su-jeong’s wish is, “I wish I had just one ranged skill.” Would you like to grant it? Y/N]
Seo-a immediately whispered ‘Yes.’ Then, as always, light came out of her hand, and Seo-a clenched her fist to hide the light as much as possible. Then, she quietly followed her to the elevator.
“Sis, are you leaving now?”
“Yeah, I should.”
“Be sure to contact me before you go on the raid!”
“Okay, you do well on your test, too.”
Seo-a tapped Su-jeong on the shoulder as if to encourage her as she got into the elevator.
And the moment Su-jeong looked at Seo-a and the elevator doors closed, Seo-a smirked and raised her index finger to her lips.
“Uh…!”
Su-jeong tilted her head, and then, realizing something, hurriedly opened her mouth, but the doors closed.
“Yay! I love it!”
Su-jeong’s cheers flowed out from inside the closed elevator.
“Pfft.”
Seo-a laughed at her honest reaction. Su-jeong would realize that Seo-a had done something. And she trusted that she would keep the secret.
She had wanted to grant Kang Su-jeong’s wish for a while, and she was glad she could grant it before leaving for the raid.
As she walked toward the lobby exit, she heard her cell phone vibrate in her pocket. She took it out and saw it was Su-jeong.
Seo-a smiled contentedly at Su-jeong’s text and went outside.
‘Then shall I check it out?’
[Hunter ‘Kang Su-jeong’s wish granted: Skill ‘Punching’]
[Would you like to save?]
Considering that Kang Su-jeong’s original active skills were [Dual Swordsmanship], [Sprint], and [Punching], the skill’s name was perfect for Su-jeong.
In particular, [Punching] and [Punching] seemed like a set.
Before agreeing to save, Seo-a calmly looked at the skill description for [Punching].
[Punching: Can exert physical force on distant enemies. The higher the level, the greater the effective distance. Strength is affected by stats.]
“Ooh….”
From the description alone, it seemed to be a skill that allowed you to punch from a distance.
‘Save it for now.’
Seo-a didn’t have a decent ranged skill either, so she decided to save it in slot 3 for now.
With this, all three slots were filled, unfortunately.
They were [Reverse], [Treasure Hunt], and [Punching].
‘Hmm, something….’
It felt like she had filled them in a very haphazard way. Still, she consoled herself, believing that they would be useful somewhere.
After leaving the Sun Guild building, Seo-a stopped by the hospital where Geon-woo was hospitalized for a while, and then returned to her accommodation.
The next evening, as promised, Seo-a visited Maker’s gate with Baek Eun-hee.
“Maker! Is this really all you have?”
Baek Eun-hee, after examining the items piled on the stall for a while, voiced her dissatisfaction to Maker.
Maker retorted, clearly annoyed. “Yeah, leave if you don’t like it. I only opened the gate because you were yelling so much… tsk tsk.”
Today wasn’t a scheduled gate opening. However, Baek Eun-hee had gone to Maker’s house, knocked persistently, and essentially forced him to open it.
Seo-a found it interesting that Maker lived in a regular house outside the gate, like ordinary people.
“Oh, Maker. You really do have fewer items than usual. Does this mean you’re finally earning enough to live comfortably?”
“Ugh, get out if you’re not going to buy anything!”
“I’m not saying I won’t buy anything!”
While the two bickered, Seo-a politely clasped her hands together and awkwardly glanced around.
She was still a bit shaken after accidentally picking up a hat that cost 100 million gold earlier.
Baek Eun-hee picked up a delicate silk scarf and tied it around Seo-a’s neck, saying, “We’re in a hurry, so this will have to do for now, Seo-a. Let’s go to Joeb’s next time. Maker must be getting old; he’s not putting in the work.”
“What is that damn woman saying!”
Seo-a felt the soft texture against her neck and read the item description.
“[Aqua Butterfly’s Scarf (Made by Maker)_Special A]”
“[A scarf meticulously crafted from the wings of the Aqua Butterfly monster. The texture is incredibly soft.]”
“[Defense +100, Magic Power +120, Agility +140]”
“[Additional function: Allows underwater breathing for 5 minutes]”
“[Equipping Grade: A or higher]”
“This is also very good…?”
“That’s because you haven’t seen anything truly exceptional. This is just a common Special A-grade item.”
Maker couldn’t even retort to Baek Eun-hee’s blunt remarks and simply rubbed the back of his neck.
To be honest, Seo-a also noticed it. The number of items was noticeably less than when she had visited Maker’s gate previously.
“Damn people, breaking in while I’m sleeping and saying all sorts of nonsense.”
In any case, Baek Eun-hee had finished selecting all of Seo-a’s items in the meantime.
“Maker, calculate the bill. Where did you go!”
“Oh, Sister… how much is this in total?”
“Hmm? It’s not much. Don’t worry about it.”
Baek Eun-hee, knowing that Seo-a would feel burdened, avoided mentioning the price.
Baek Eun-hee handed over her card, and Maker swiped it through the terminal.
With a beep, the sound of hundreds of millions of gold being deducted filled the air.
“Th…thank you, Sister.”
“What, I’m sorry for only getting you something mediocre.”
“No, it’s far too wonderful.”
“By the way, the shoes are really not good. Maker, is this really all you have?”
Baek Eun-hee had almost fully equipped Seo-a, but she was struggling to find suitable shoes.
“Wait a minute.”
At Baek Eun-hee’s words, Maker left his seat for a moment.
“What, that old woman. It seems like she has something hidden? Well, it can’t be all this,” Baek Eun-hee said, kicking the pile of shoes on the floor. In her standards, these shoe items were practically garbage.
Of course, even that was much better than what Seo-a had when she was originally E-grade [lowest rank].
After a while, Maker returned with a pair of white boots in his hand. Small wings were attached to the ankle parts of the boots.
Baek Eun-hee examined them first and nodded. “That’s not bad.”
Then she handed them to Seo-a. Seo-a also looked at the item description.
“[Unicorn Boots (Made by Maker)_Special A]”
“[Unicorn’s hooves are attached to the bottom of the boots. The weight of the body feels much lighter.]”
“[Agility 300]”
“[Additional option: Can fly for 1 minute]”
The additional option was excellent. Shoes that allowed flight.
Seo-a liked this quite a bit.
“Give me this too.”
Baek Eun-hee held out her card and swiped it through the terminal again. But unlike before, there was no sound.
“Huh? Why is it like this?”
She tried several times, but the result was the same. Baek Eun-hee frowned and looked at Maker.
“Isn’t this broken?”
“Just because it looks like this doesn’t mean it’s a real card terminal? Why don’t you check if your card is working properly?”
Baek Eun-hee snorted as if that couldn’t be the case and immediately called Seo Ah-hyun.
Meanwhile, Seo-a looked at the shoes again.
