The King of the Underworld is Tired – 15 (15/82)
The Story of Typhon – (4)
Mount Olympus, the divine palace high above the clouds.
Typhon, reclining and basking in his victory, wondered why Cadmus hadn’t returned.
He’d planned to offer a goddess as a reward for Cadmus playing the lyre by his side.
Could he have run away?
No human would refuse the chance to embrace a goddess.
Perhaps it was a scheme by Zeus.
After a moment’s thought, Typhon was about to summon his subordinate monster, Delphyne, and order her to find the insolent human.
But then he sensed numerous divine powers approaching from afar.
“Are the small fries coming to challenge me again?”
No matter how many gods gathered after fleeing, it would be useless…
“Typhon! I have returned!”
Zeus, holding Astrape [Zeus’s thunderbolt] aloft amidst the black clouds?
His tendons were definitely severed… that damn human!
As Typhon hurriedly rose, black clouds gathered above him, unleashing fierce lightning.
Flash- Kwaroooong!
“Kuaaaaaaa!”
It hurts.
It hurts so much.
It feels like my whole body is burning.
Was lightning supposed to be this painful, when it should have just been a sting?
Typhon gritted his teeth at the power of Zeus’s lightning.
It certainly wasn’t this strong when he ambushed Olympus.
Moirae [the Fates], because of that damn old hag’s strange fruit!
“I won’t be careless anymore. Let’s see who is fit to be the chief god!”
In the hands of Zeus, who had regained his tendons, destructive blue lightning crackled, showcasing its power.
A thunderous roar erupted from his mouth, and Astrape was unleashed once more.
“Kuaaaaaaa!”
Typhon didn’t just stand still.
He is the god of storms, and a fierce wind, threatening to collapse even the highest mountains, raged, threatening to turn everything to ashes.
Zeus’s lightning was painful, but not enough to kill the weakened Typhon in one blow.
A giant hand, wrapped in a whirlwind, shot out towards Zeus.
‘If I subdue Zeus, the others are nothing.’
Just as he thought that, a sweet voice reached Typhon’s ears.
“Hey, can you look here for a moment?”
A small, faint voice from the ground.
Typhon’s attention was momentarily diverted by the irresistible, enchanting voice, and his gaze drifted downwards.
A beautifully adorned beauty, Aphrodite, smiled brightly and made eye contact with Typhon.
The hand reaching out faltered, its momentum lost to the goddess of beauty’s full-force charm.
“Zeus! It’s okay if Mount Olympus gets a little damaged, right!”
“Move instead of talking, Poseidon!”
“Then I won’t hold back!”
The blue-haired god raised his trident high and slammed it down on the earth with all his might.
The power of Triaina [Poseidon’s trident], the Cyclops brothers’ masterpiece, was unleashed, and the ground shook violently, causing the entire mountain to tremble.
“Earth, tremble. Reveal your inner self and show it to me.”
Demeter placed her hand on the earth with a chillingly calm voice.
An earthquake, assisted by Demeter, the goddess of the earth.
The ground split haphazardly, making it difficult for Typhon to move and disrupting his balance.
Following this, Hestia’s power warmly embraced the gods, and a fierce blaze rose from the hammer of Hephaestus, the god of fire and blacksmithing, burning everything.
A storm raged so fiercely that trees flew like dust, and the ground exploded in a battle of gods.
Mount Olympus was gradually losing its shape.
* * *
Some distance away from Mount Olympus, the human cities faced a great disaster.
Flash- Kwaroooong!
Thunder continued to roar in the sky, and a massive earthquake shook the ground.
Buildings collapsed, storms raged, and people cried out to the gods.
“Uwaaaah! Zeus! What have we done wrong!”
“This earthquake must be a punishment from the god Poseidon! Did you not offer sacrifices to the sea on time!”
“Kyaaaa! Save me!”
Drrrrr-
People desperately fled the city, but some prayed in the temples of the Olympian gods.
Hoping that whatever god it was would hear their prayers and please quell their anger.
Kwaroooong!
Once again, thunder and storms raged, collapsing buildings.
“This… this is strange. The gods would never punish us like this!”
Demeter’s priest, who resided in the city, felt something was clearly wrong.
The disasters that had occurred so far were thunder and lightning, heavy rain and earthquakes, and intense gusts of wind.
It’s not a power that one god could possibly possess.
However, the power of just one god would be enough to destroy this city.
“Could it be that the gods are fighting?”
Mortals soon realized.
This is just the aftermath of the battle, like crumbs falling while eating bread or fragments flying when mining metal.
The real disaster is happening on Mount Olympus.
* * *
“Ahahahahaha! War! It’s war!”
Red divine power erupted like a storm from Ares’s entire body.
The divine horses of his chariot, which he is so proud of, snorted fiercely and ran through the air.
The god of war laughed wildly and charged forward in his chariot.
The target is the monster’s face, it doesn’t matter if his attack doesn’t inflict any damage.
Unlike the last time when he only tasted defeat, he now felt that the melody of victory was not far off.
“Y-you bug!”
Typhon, relentlessly beaten by the gods’ combined attack, became enraged and waved his hands wildly.
Once again, a terrible scar of destruction is etched into the world.
Ares’s chariot, which had been bravely charging, was destroyed, and he was mercilessly thrown back and crashed into a mountain.
“Ares!”
Even the clouds that had been floating leisurely were scattered, and the stars in the sky, fearing Typhon, rose even higher.
The horses of Helios’s [sun god] sun chariot, startled, fled into the sky.
In the gradually darkening sky, Zeus’s lightning and Hephaestus’s fire brightly illuminated the world.
Kwaroooong!
“Kuaaaaaaa!”
Once again, blue thunder struck Typhon’s body, causing smoke to rise and inflicting terrible pain.
And in the eyes of Typhon, who was wailing in agony, shining arrows struck in succession.
“I’ll aim for the right eye. You take the left eye!”
“The next prey is a big one. Brother.”
The sun god Apollo and the moon goddess Artemis.
The two children of the chief god Zeus each fire arrows containing the power of the sun and moon.
These twin gods, children of the chief god Zeus and the mother goddess Leto, are both sharpshooters possessing the divinity of archery.
Their arrows never miss.
Following this, the blacksmith god’s hot flames engulf Typhon’s body, and the heavily armed goddess of wisdom strikes the monster’s ankle.
The Olympian gods’ combined attacks continue in succession, but…
“If it weren’t for the Moirae’s meddling, you would have fallen long ago!”
The monster is still standing strong.
Victory was clearly on the side of the Olympian gods, but Typhon is the ultimate weapon created by Gaia [Earth goddess] with all her might.
He gets tired and injured, but he doesn’t fall easily.
The sea god, tired of Typhon’s continued resilience in the ongoing battle, seeks to exert his full power.
If he could bury him deep in the sea…
“Kuh. That monster… unleash the waves…”
“Poseidon! If you summon the waves, all the humans on land will die!”
Hestia hurriedly stopped Poseidon, who was trying to defeat Typhon by bringing a massive tsunami to the land.
Victory is clearly on the side of the Olympian gods, so they can win without sacrificing the lives of those on earth.
“No, then how long will we continue like this…”
“Just wait a little longer, and a variable will occur!”
Athena shouts while dodging Typhon’s kick, but Poseidon groans in frustration.
Typhon is also immortal like the gods. Judging from his ability to control raging winds, he must have the divinity of storms.
The three goddesses of fate tricked and weakened Typhon, but still, only Zeus and Poseidon could inflict meaningful damage on him.
Unless it was a wound inflicted by the powerful force of the three chief gods, he would instantly regenerate and recover with tremendous vitality.
“Khahaha! Except for those two, everyone else is just bugs… Keuk!”
At that moment, a pitch-black and eerie slash flew towards Typhon, who was lightly deflecting Hera’s attack and sneering.
Typhon hurriedly raised his arm to block it, but the divine blood flowing from his body, Ichor [the ethereal fluid that is the Greek god’s equivalent of blood].
The golden liquid sprinkled on the earth, revealing the storm god’s wounds.
This level of power… is much weaker than Zeus, but similar to when he was directly hit by Poseidon’s trident.
Typhon turned his head towards the direction from which the slash had come, noticing the variable that had arisen on the battlefield.
A black-haired god walking with a cold murderous intent from a short distance away, holding an old, worn helmet and a giant scythe in his hand.
“…Hades!”
“My uncle has succeeded. Now that monster is finished.”
That scythe is the scythe that Typhon stole from Zeus and secretly hid, Scythe [Hades’ Scythe]!
The strongest weapon made of Adamas [an extremely hard substance] is also a threat to Typhon.
“One of the three chief gods who rule the world, this is the judgment of Hades, the king of the underworld. Cleanse your ears and listen, monster.”
The god with the gloomy expression continues to speak, bringing the helmet over his head.
“You will be trapped in Tartarus [the deep abyss that is used as a dungeon of torment and suffering for the wicked] for all eternity.”
At the same time as the king of the underworld completely puts on the helmet,
He completely disappeared from Typhon’s sight, which even Hermes, the fastest in Olympus, could not have captured.
