The Divine Sword Secret Arts…
Logan groaned.
The cover of the secret arts book he had was very old. Because the cover was worn, some letters could have disappeared.
Logan wondered how someone from long ago could have known this would happen.
Fortunately, the answer came quickly.
Taron’s prophecies were never clear. Maybe this one had two meanings. But I hope no one sees this book.
Logan sighed.
Logan’s brow furrowed.
The ancient superhuman who wrote the Divine Sword Secret Arts didn’t write his own name. Instead, he mentioned Taron ‘Ares,’ his friend, many times. Taron’s name had appeared several times since the battle with the Cassel Magic Tower.
More than the stories about Taron, it was his last name that bothered Logan.
‘I hope it’s just a coincidence…’
Even though he felt uneasy, Logan kept reading.
“Huh…?”
“Perhaps he was the first knight in human history…”
Logan said, admiring the author, and kept reading.
He thought the answer to his questions would come soon.
But the words only made him more worried because they didn’t make sense.
Then he understood why he felt anxious.
“Demonic power, you say…”
Now, it’s hard to find records of the name ‘Demon Saint’. If there was a calendar named after him, it must have been very long ago, before the Great Migration Era.
Logan sighed, but the next part was even stranger.
The book talked about ‘power of will,’ but it seemed to be more than just doing what someone else wanted. Logan admired the author again and focused on the book.
Logan had seen the terrible things the Cassel Magic Tower did in his past life.
But one thing didn’t make sense.
“Arrangement?”
Logan looked around, confused. He only saw smooth gray bricks and a giant wolf.
Could the bricks of the ruins, which nothing could damage, be the legacy?
Or…
‘…Could it be that mutt?’
“Grrrr.”
Logan looked at the wolf with narrowed eyes. The wolf frowned back, as if asking why he was staring, and growled. It didn’t seem to like him.
Logan looked back at the book, still unsure.
“Small and young friend?”
Logan stared at the wolf, a disbelieving laugh escaping him. “Small and young?” he muttered to the wolf. “You? You’re the size of a small house!”
Even though it wasn’t the giant monster he had seen before fainting, it was still as big as a bull.
‘Could it be that in ancient times, something that size was considered small?’
Could that be true?
“Oh dear…”
“Woof.”
The wolf frowned again and barked when he looked at it.
Just by looking at it, he could tell something was wrong. That powerful force and roar that had scared away the magical beasts of the Demon Beast Forest could never come from a young divine beast.
‘If that’s a young divine beast, then the divine beasts would have ruled everything even in the mythological era.’
Even if the stories about divine beasts were true, they couldn’t be that strong when they were young. Even the ‘dragon,’ the most famous and intelligent divine beast, was weak when young.
And Logan was sure he was right after reading the next part.
…It seems to be too late.
It was strange for a divine beast to be weak against demonic energy.
He still remembered the twelve red eyes on the three heads and the crimson-black power that had flashed before his eyes.
That creature was a fully grown divine beast, no, a perfect…
‘Demon beast…’
And it seemed to have become a demon beast of almost kingly status, based on what he saw before fainting.
“Wait a minute…?”
Then he remembered another myth about divine beasts.
How long does it take for a divine beast to grow from a cub to an adult?
At least several hundred years, right?
Cold sweat ran down his back.
The next part seemed to prove his bad feeling.
The book’s description of power was not very clear. It seemed to be talking about someone strong with Aura. In other words, it was so old that there was no name for it.
That aside.
“Essence, you say? Where would such a thing…”
The essence that the ancient superhuman had created by taking away his life force was nowhere to be seen.
Just as he was complaining, he saw the wolf turn its head slightly, as if it had heard something.
“You don’t mean…?”
Logan frowned, and the wolf turned its head further away.
“…Did you eat it?”
“…Grrr.”
The wolf casually licked its nose with its front paw and pretended to sleep. It was said to hear the waves of the soul, so it seemed to know what he was asking.
Logan could only sigh at the strange sight.
“Ha…”
The bad feelings he had from the start were coming true.
Logan quickly turned back the pages.
There was a secret art that dealt with Force.
“…It’s the same.”
Whether it was good or bad, he seemed to have learned the right Divine Sword Secret Arts, no, the Secret Arts of Murder.
The slightly changed form and the way of using Force had good and bad points, but the secret arts he had learned seemed to be a better form that had been improved over time.
Logan sighed but looked at the previous part again to see if there was anything else.
There was something that anyone would want, but he could only sigh.
“That thousand years, it seems to have already passed…”
Logan guessed how much time had passed and felt hopeless.
Still, he looked at the map on the back page, just in case. But it was hard to understand, as if many years had passed.
The map of the inside of the ruins, drawn by the ancient archmage, wasn’t very important.
Logan thought of only one place: the ruins of Zibric Cassel. Logan knew the ruins of Zibric Cassel well.
Logan followed the great river from the Crown Mountains. He reached a city. Everyone on the continent knew this city.
“Aserian. So it was. Bloody hell!”
Logan’s bad feelings were right.
“Talon ‘Ares’. Ugh. Damn it!!!”
Daaaaamn it!
The frustrated shout echoed through the stone chamber, startling the wolf, Tyr, who had been pretending to sleep.
“Grrrr.”
Tyr glared at Logan.
But this time, Logan didn’t back down.
“I’m frustrated, that’s why. So, could you cough up what you ate?”
When Logan was passed out, the beast fed him. Now, Logan felt strong again.
In this perfect condition, he felt he could face the beast’s transformed state that he had seen before.
But the beast wasn’t about to back down easily either.
“Grrrr.”
As if sensing Logan’s murderous intent, Tyr’s size gradually increased, and his fur began to turn dark red. Soon, two more eyes appeared on his once ordinary head, and the four pupils were dyed red, gleaming fiercely.
Any more, and they would really fight.
Logan was stunned. He didn’t even want to fight anymore.
“Forget it. You’re still my savior. Sigh.”
As Logan sighed and slumped down on the altar, Tyr tilted his head, then returned to his original form.
Now, Tyr looked like a big wolf. Just a normal wolf, but bigger. This made Logan annoyed for some reason.
“Why are you so on edge? Did I do something wrong to you?”
Logan asked sharply, ‘Why are you so on edge?’ The beast turned its head fast. It picked up something with its paw.
The bones were broken into tiny pieces. Logan couldn’t guess what animal they were from. This showed a lot of time had passed. Even the small piece the beast had picked up crumbled and disappeared.
Seeing that, Logan seemed to understand what the beast was trying to say.
“Too much time has passed? I came too late?”
Nod.
Who should he blame for this?
The master of the prophecy? Or the one who made the prophecy?
At least, the sacred beast, who had consumed the essence of its master and become a demonic creature, seemed to be blaming Logan for arriving only now.
“At this rate…….”
Sigh.
Only sighs escaped his lips.
He was hoping for a big win, but it was a disappointment.
“Hey, at least I survived. I was too greedy.”
Logan was trying to console himself when—
“Grrr!”
Tyr, who had approached unnoticed, nudged his chest with his massive snout.
“Huh?”
“Grrrr!”
It felt as if he was protesting, ‘Why haven’t you gained anything when I’m here?’
But Logan couldn’t take a wolf this big into town. Especially not one that could turn into a giant monster so easily.
Then why was he getting his hopes up?
Feeling a strange sense of certainty, Logan blurted out, “Can you, by any chance, shrink?”
“Whine?”
It was looking at him as if to say, ‘Why would you even ask that?’
Logan saw many feelings on the wolf’s face. He wasn’t even surprised anymore.
“That’s the only way I can take you with me. You also have to promise not to transform into a giant beast without permission…….”
“Eeeeeng.”
Tyr covered his head with his front paws as if he was deeply troubled.
‘Could it be possible?’
He watched with bated breath when—
Whoosh.
Hum.
A soft light burst forth, and Tyr’s massive size noticeably decreased.
Almost to the size of a normal dog.
“Woof!”
As if to say, ‘Are you satisfied now?’
Logan, who could now interpret even the beast’s barks, gave a hollow laugh.
Soon after, Logan and Tyr (who looked like a dog now) left the ruins. They went south, very fast.
And at the time Logan encountered the ancient history in the Demon Forest—
In the heart of the great city, now considered the center of the continent, its ruler began to move.
Talon had made a prophecy. He didn’t know *when* it would happen, but he knew it *would* happen. So, Talon made plans. His prophecies had been accurate with a fairly high probability.
This book is written in the year 243 of the Demonic Saint Era. That’s 243 years after the Demonic Sage started his empire. Their calendar has 13 months.
Use the things I left behind. Stop their family line. Or destroy the Demonic Sage when he comes. They are bad for history. Don’t wait, act fast.
I built these ruins with special stones. These stones stop magic. They are rare now, from a long time ago. I used Talon’s magic to shorten my life. This made my ‘essence’. I put my essence and the stones together to make a barrier. This barrier changes space and time.
And inside the barrier, I put Tyr to sleep. Tyr is from an old line of sacred beasts. He was a young friend I made later in my life.
Take my essence. It’s keeping the barrier going. I don’t know how strong you are. But if you can’t control space and souls yet, my essence will help you get stronger.
Maybe it’s less likely, but if you have the ‘Power of Wishes’ instead of ‘Vision of Killing Gods’… (Vision of Killing Gods is written in the back of this book). If you have the Power of Wishes, it will be easier to learn the Vision.
If you are reading this book, it means the barrier is broken. This also means my students and their families are gone. They were called the Sword God Lineage. They were supposed to carry out my wishes. They are all gone.
It’s worrying that we don’t know when his prophecy will happen. Like when he called me ‘The First Knight’ when we first met.
The word ‘knight’ didn’t exist then. We thought it was nonsense. But 30 years later, everyone called me ‘knight’.
It means someone who protects people with a sword. It started as a funny mistake. People thought I was a servant (‘Kniht’) of a mage. They changed it to ‘Knight’. But I liked ‘The First Knight’ better than ‘Sword God’.
Talon said it would happen far in the future. So, I don’t know when *you* are reading this book. I made my own plans. Talon made his plans too.
Again, if the barrier is broken, my students’ families are gone. So, you must be someone who found the ‘Vision of Killing Gods’ by chance. Or someone with the Power of Wishes.
I hope my family did their job. I hope my Power of Wishes is gone. If it is, then the power Talon gave me in a strange way will also be gone. But if not…
Talon also said the sacred beast family would disappear. So, Tyr, my smart young friend, agreed to be sealed. He wanted to save the sacred beast bloodline for the future.
But I worried about the Demon Forest. The prophecy said to seal him there. Sacred beasts are weak against demon magic. If you find Tyr, please take him out of the ruins fast. Even young sacred beasts can read souls and understand people. He will be very helpful.
If you have Tyr and my essence, leave the ruins now. Find Talon’s ruins too. They are in the middle of the continent. Talon also made his own plans. Take them. The next chapter shows where they are.
His ruins are full of treasure. I don’t know what’s there. But I know it will help you fight the Demonic Sage when he comes.
Talon promised me strongly. He and his family would protect the ruins for a long time. A great mage’s promise lasts for at least a thousand years.
