The Emperor was furious. He wanted to destroy anyone who got in his way. Normally, he would attack without thinking. But this time, something was different. He had to be careful.
The Emperor looked closely at the man in front of him. He frowned. Like someone named Logan, the Emperor could see the true power inside a person. This helped him understand how strong the man really was.
The Emperor’s eyes opened wide in shock.
“An Aura Master?” he thought. “Another one?”
Harman saw the Emperor’s eyes shaking quickly. He tried to look calm, even though he was nervous inside.
Harman thought, “The Emperor will know.” If the Emperor can see souls, he will see how strong I really am. Even though Harman was facing Licentia, this terrible monster, he made sure his aura looked strong and unbroken.
It seemed his plan was working.
The Emperor looked back to where he had come from.
Harman felt more and more worried. He thought, “The Emperor knows it’s me. He knows I’m the strong person who fought Galen before.”
There, Galen Dicayde and the Emperor’s magic soldiers were fighting hard against McLaine’s Queen.
The Queen was covered in red aura, like burning fire. She was winning the fight easily.
Her strong red aura destroyed every magic attack that came near her, like a powerful stone crushing grain.
Galen shouted, “Are they all monsters?! How did she become so strong so fast?!” The magic soldiers were thrown around by the Queen’s power. They looked completely beaten.
Seeing this, the Emperor became calm again. He realized the silver-haired knight had left the Queen to fight the Windstorm Mage and come here. This meant the knight had not defeated the Windstorm Mage.
Now that he was calm, the Emperor noticed something was missing in the silver-haired knight. He looked at Harman’s soul and thought, “It’s not finished yet. Not complete power. But… still, this is unbelievable.”
The Emperor looked Harman up and down. Finally, he spoke.
“Divine power… You have amazing skill for someone so young, and so much divine power. Are you a Divine Sword? You look different from what I expected. What is the sword of the Holy Kingdom doing here?”
The Emperor’s words sounded like he was blaming Harman. Harman grinned and answered,
“I’m in disguise, for reasons. And our kingdom and your Empire are not friends, right?”
“So, you want to stop me?” the Emperor asked.
“King Logan must not die here,” Harman said firmly. The Emperor stared hard at the Divine Sword.
Suddenly, blue magic flowed around Harman. His silver hair and eyes changed back to their real color. But the sword he pointed at the Emperor stayed steady.
Their fight was stopped by a scream nearby.
“Aargh!”
Even though they were focused on each other, they could not ignore that scream. It meant someone had died. It was Celine Bauer, the leader of the Earthquake Magic Tower.
Eileen had killed her. Her left arm hung down, looking broken. She cried out, like a scream,
“Logan!!”
Only then, realizing Logan was in danger, Eileen angrily killed one of the magic soldiers.
Even though she was badly hurt, Eileen moved even faster and more wildly. Her blue eyes looked like they were burning with fire.
“Wait for me!!” she yelled. Suddenly, the fight changed. Now she was winning against the four enemies.
The Emperor watched all this and started laughing. It was a strange laugh, not right for such a serious moment.
“Pfft, hee hee hee,” he chuckled. “What a disaster…”
The Emperor thought, “That knight’s power is like a strong Aura User, but not the highest level.” Her aura, like burning fire, destroyed all magic attacks. It seemed her special skill was defense. If that was true, maybe she wasn’t very strong physically, compared to other Aura Users.
But still, even if she wasn’t the strongest Aura User, she was faster and stronger than any magic soldier. “An Aura User is the worst enemy for magic users,” the Emperor thought. “And this one is the queen of an enemy country?”
“Hee hee hee hee hee,” the Emperor kept laughing, not believing what he was seeing. He saw that she looked about the same age as Logan McLaine, and this made him even angrier.
And to make things even worse, the person stopping him was the Divine Sword from the Holy Kingdom, who was almost as strong as an Aura Master. Around him, many of his Imperial soldiers lay dead.
Soldiers were crying out,
“Aargh!”
“Keuh-heok!”
“Run…”
And the Emperor realized that his own powerful magic, the one he made using all the treasures of his family, had caused this disaster.
“How did everything go so wrong?” he thought. His strange chuckle changed into loud, angry laughter.
“Hahahahahahaha!”
Harman looked at him coldly as the Emperor laughed wildly.
Feeling Harman’s cold stare, the Emperor became even angrier. He gritted his teeth and rose up into the air.
The Emperor knew he couldn’t risk his life in a foolish fight.
“Galen! Retreat!” he shouted.
“Hup!” Galen’s voice, out of breath, answered from far away.
Quickly, Galen and the other two magic soldiers started running away from the fight. The knight, Eileen, who should have chased them, ran towards the Emperor instead. She moved as fast as a strong wind, but she was really running to Logan, who was behind the Emperor.
The Emperor looked down at everything with cold eyes. He raised his right hand and made a blue flame appear.
“Don’t think this is over, Divine Sword,” he said. *Whirr!* He waved his hand, and a blast of blue fire shot towards the Divine Sword and Logan.
At the same time, the Emperor flew back to his main camp, moving very fast in the air. He knew the fire attack wouldn’t hurt them much. He just wanted to escape and get away.
But then…
“Heuaaah!”
“No!!”
*Kwaaaaang!* The Emperor didn’t see that the Divine Sword was badly hurt by his fire attack. And even Eileen, the knight in red aura, coughed up blood.
“Retreat!” the Emperor ordered. Right away, the Imperial army ran back towards their main camp. Suddenly, they were moving quickly and with purpose, not like soldiers who had lost hope.
Seeing the Imperial army run away, the other soldiers cheered loudly.
“The Imperial army is retreating!” they shouted. “We won!” “We won again!” “Waaaah!” Their victory shouts were so loud they seemed to shake the whole city of Kyle. They echoed across the destroyed battlefield for a long time.
* * * At the same time, far away in the south at Armor Fortress, while people were cheering in Kyle Castle… ‘Awooooooooooooooo.’ A huge wolf’s howl filled the air. Then, a monster with three heads appeared in front of the Imperial army. It looked more than 20 meters tall.
Twelve red eyes glowed from the monster’s three heads. Its body was covered in wounds. Suddenly, a dark red beam shot out from one of its mouths and hit the back of the Imperial army.
The air cracked with a terrible sound. It was a disaster for the wizards. Kwaaaah!!
It was a terrible attack on the thousand or so wizards who were making a magical shield of wind, called the Barrier of Wind.
The great magic was shattered by the impact, and about a hundred wizards fell down, coughing blood.
Kraaah!
No one on the battlefield understood it, but Tyr’s roar was filled with burning rage. Perhaps if Logan had been there, he would have recognized the meaning behind the sound.
A friend was hurt because of me.
The friend who had shielded him from the explosions of the dark soldiers while he hesitated had fallen.
Do not reveal your true form unless absolutely necessary.
In his surging fury, Tyr had forgotten his promise to Logan and unleashed his overwhelming power upon the approaching Imperial army. A small number of strong opponents were one thing, but against lots of weak enemies, the size of his true form would be a definite weapon.
The war had to end quickly.
And his friend had to be healed.
Kwaaaah!
Aaaargh!
I-It’s a monster!
A single step of his forefoot turned a dozen men into a bloody mess, and ten times that number were sent flying into the air.
Thud. Kwaaaah!
Thwack.
The giant beast’s wild movements were a disaster for the ordinary soldiers.
The knights *thought* they could stop the beast, at least at first…
Block him!
We’re going in!
Zzzzzing.
Kwa kwa kwa kwa kwa kwa.
The moment they were hit directly by the dark red beams intermittently fired from the three heads, they disappeared in a flash.
And then, Quorrel, another attacker, sent down rain and red bombs again, causing massive casualties.
Aaaargh!
The legion commander, where are the legion commanders!
As the Empire’s front lines collapsed helplessly…
The powerful warriors who should have been commanding them and catching the monster were being pushed back completely in the red-haired youth’s frenzied offensive.
T-This is absurd……
This is insane……
That dying man……
The Imperial Guard’s superhumans, Lunars and Fabian, and the 7th Legion Commander, Greme, could only concentrate on defense with pale faces. The guy who looked like he was about to collapse suddenly found new power from his rage, and instead, he began to push them back.
How is this even possible!?
Seven magic swords were coming at them from all directions.
Clang! Clang!
Scritch.
Kwaaaah!
Even after the three of them blocked two each, the remaining sword force dug into the narrow gaps and continued to drive them back.
The constant attack was one thing, but the sight of him constantly muttering the same words, sounding crazy, his red eyes gleaming, made them even more afraid.
It’s my fault. I told him to go. Don’t die, Viktor. Never die……
Words that were impossible to understand.
None of the three knew that the words referred to the body lying behind him, already like a tattered rag.
That crazy man……!
We can’t just keep getting pushed back like this.
Lunars and Fabian, who had been working together for a long time, exchanged glances and looked for an opportunity to counterattack.
Greme!
Just block him for a moment!
W-What!?
Whether the 7th Legion Commander Greme Turner was horrified or not, they stepped back for a moment and gathered their force to prepare their respective ultimate moves.
But.
Kwaaaah!
Aaaaargh!
Greme, who suddenly became a human shield, failed to meet their expectations. The endless waves of orange aura literally ground him to dust.
A deadly mistake.
As if mocking their panic that followed, the aura user, driven by madness, charged madly towards them.
As if his wish had been granted, the body that looked like a corpse took a long breath and twitched slightly.
I’m not…… dead, you crazy…… bastard. Haa…….
Just as the body, slowly getting better, managed to sit up…
A cry of victory erupted from the Southern Fortress as well.
Awoo!
At a similar time, at the Northern Shield Fortress.
Y-You damned old man!!
Monster……!
The Imperial Guard’s superhuman, Chepperville, and the 4th Legion Commander, Drexler, shuddered and retreated.
Clang!
Clang!
Scritch.
Ugh!
Fucking unbelievable!
The one pushing them back was a blood-covered figure with armor pieces stuck all over his body.
Red aura flashed around him. Blood dripped down from the metal pieces in his body. He was covered in wounds from head to toe. It was hard to find a spot on him that wasn’t bleeding.
They were pushed back because they feared his power and will, even though his body was so damaged.
For…… the kingdom…….
The blood-covered figure, constantly repeating only those words, had no light in the Sword Saint’s eyes. It was a mystery how he was still alive, how he was fighting, but this was definitely reality.
And the unending fighting spirit shown by the leader of the legion endlessly raised the McLane soldiers’ courage stationed in the fortress.
On the other hand, the Imperial army was already losing. They had lost their Commander, Miles Malfin, when the black knights destroyed themselves.
What can we do now? Our commander blew himself up!
Chepperville gritted his teeth at the rising absurdity and anger, but it was already too late.
The worst result created by Miles Malfin’s revenge born from friendship and they chose leaders only for power, and it was a bad choice was happening at Shield.
And around that time.
Kwaaaah!
Hahaha. Farewell, you sly bastard!
On the other side of the wall, a giant blood-covered figure succeeded in defeating the 3rd Legion Commander, Blake Evendoer.
With that, the battle started to turn completely.
