“What, panting already after running just a little bit! This is why I told you to practice running faster!”
The disciples of Mount Hua were running as fast as they could.
But Chung Myung was chasing them from behind with his sword.
They saw Chung Myung’s scary sword and his wild eyes. They knew they could not stop running. Even if they were out of breath and their legs shook, they had to keep going.
Jo Gul was the weakest. He started to fall behind.
“Kuhh… Kuhh-eung.”
He was running as hard as he could, but he didn’t have enough stamina.
“Ah, Elder Brother! Ack! Aaaargh! You monster!”
“Run! I said run!”
Chung Myung stabbed Jo Gul in the back with his sword and glared at him.
“They’re trying to steal what’s mine and escape! Do you want us all to fail?”
“Aaaargh! Why doesn’t heaven strike him down with lightning?!”
Luckily for Chung Myung, lightning couldn’t reach them underground.
Chung Myung’s actions worked. Jo Gul, stabbed in the back, ran twice as fast.
“Aaaargh! You lightning-struck monster!”
“Run faster! Stop complaining!”
Chung Myung’s eyes blazed.
He had a good reason to be so insistent.
‘They’ve reached the end,’ he thought. The Elixir of Immortality would be there. He had gone through hell to get here, and he would not let them steal it.
“Where do those Wudang think they’re going, touching my things!”
‘That’s not yours!’
‘Even a thief wouldn’t say that!’
But what could they do?
Chung Myung was their junior brother.
They weren’t the only ones suffering because of Chung Myung.
A desperate voice echoed from the far end of the cave.
“Hey, you! Let’s go together! You’ve been using me, and now you’re abandoning me!?”
“What’s with that beggar?” Chung Myung scoffed.
“Hurry up and follow me!”
“I can go! But my beggars can’t! Look at my poor beggars!”
“Ha, truly beggars,” Chung Myung said.
Hong Daeguang’s eyes welled up at Chung Myung’s mockery.
‘Once this is over, I won’t even look at Mount Hua. Damn monster!’
But it wasn’t over yet.
“You beggars! Run! Chase them!”
“Branch Leader… Go first. We… we are finished.”
“What are you saying! Can’t you run faster?”
“Heeek! Heeek! We… we can’t. Branch Leader! Just kill us.”
“We’re old men! They’re young and strong! Like they could eat iron!”
“Shut up and run! This is about the Beggars’ Sect’s pride! We are the best at running!”
“Begging is the best!”
“Erai!” Hong Daeguang kicked the beggars.
“Aaaargh! Why are you hitting us!” The beggar glared at Hong Daeguang.
‘Oh, this isn’t right?’ he thought.
He realized that hurting people was not easy.
Hong Daeguang pushed away the beggar.
“Hey, Divine Dragon of Mount Hua! Let’s go together!”
Chung Myung only ran forward. If he missed the Elixir of Immortality because of the beggars, he would beat them for days.
“It’s the exit!”
“It’s light!”
“Aaaargh!”
The disciples of Mount Hua shouted with joy. They were happy to escape from Chung Myung.
“It’s light!”
Jo Gul ran out of the exit. He stared ahead with wide eyes.
“What is this?”
He saw a huge cliff and martial artists climbing it. Jo Gul’s eyes trembled.
Baek Cheon and Yoon Jong looked shocked.
“Th-that…”
“Am I seeing this right?”
“It’s a cliff?”
The disciples of Mount Hua stared at the cliff.
The Wudang disciples were already halfway up the cliff.
“…Hehe. It’s a cliff.”
“What? A cliff?” Chung Myung ran out and glared at the cliff with sparkling eyes.
“It’s up there!”
He pointed to a spot in the middle of the cliff. It was far away, but it was big enough for a hundred people.
“You’re saying we have to climb up there?”
“Up there?”
“Oh my god…”
Jo Gul tilted his head and said,
“What?”
He smiled.
“Why is the end so… boring?”
“Hehehe! Cliff climbing!”
“All that suffering wasn’t for nothing!” Yoon Jong’s eyes welled up.
A cliff?
‘Are you kidding me!’
Every disciple of Mount Hua could climb a cliff. Thanks to Chung Myung’s training, they had to climb a cliff five times higher than this every day!
They could even sleep while climbing!
They had cursed that training for years! But now it was useful!
They were excited.
“Let’s go!”
“This cliff is nothing for Mount Hua!”
“This is easy!”
The disciples of Mount Hua ran to the cliff.
People who were too scared to climb the cliff looked up. They saw the disciples of Mount Hua suddenly appear.
“Huh? What’s that?” someone shouted.
“How are they so fast?”
Tap tap tap tap!
The sound of quick movements echoed off the rock. People watched the disciples of Mount Hua climb the cliff, gasping in amazement.
“Are they like spiders?” one person whispered.
“How can anyone climb like that?”
They were climbing with amazing speed.
They were climbing fast because they knew how. But the people watching didn’t know this.
And not just one, but all five of them!
Even knowing there was no time to be surprised, they simply couldn’t take their eyes off them.
“Stop them!” someone yelled.
“Ah!”
Finally, the crowd realized what was happening and glared at the Mount Hua disciples.
“Throw!”
“Stab them in the back with a sword!”
They couldn’t climb themselves, and they didn’t want to lose the special object. So, they started throwing weapons to stop the climbers.
And the ones they needed to stop first were, of course, the disciples of Mount Hua.
Thwack!
Jo Gul’s eyes widened. A sword flew past his face and stuck into the cliff right next to him.
“Hey! That’s not fair! Just because you can’t climb doesn’t mean we can’t!”
Just because they can’t go doesn’t mean others shouldn’t? How could they throw swords! Swords!
“Don’t worry about it, just keep climbing!”
“They’re throwing swords!”
“I’ll block them all! Just go!”
“How can you block them all!”
It was at that moment.
“Hey, you jerks! Don’t touch Mount Hua!”
Hong Daeguang arrived, out of breath. He quickly looked around and ran towards the people throwing things.
“Take care of these bastards, Divine Dragon of Mount Hua! Don’t worry about below and hurry up!”
Chung Myung clicked his tongue.
“He’s acting like he’s doing something amazing. Anyway, it’s done!”
Without people throwing things, they climbed much faster. Jo Gul climbed quickly, using his arms and legs.
“Euraaaah!”
“It’s easier than eating porridge compared to the Cliff of Detachment!”
It wasn’t just talk.
The disciples of Mount Hua quickly caught up with those who had climbed the cliff first. They even began to pass them.
The weapons flying from below were all blocked by Chung Myung’s sword.
Each time he blocked one, he yelled like he was singing.
“Magic potion! Power! My magic potion!”
‘He’s gone mad.’
‘Let’s hurry up. If someone else takes the Hongwon Dan after all this, who knows what that madman will do.’
Trembling with bizarre fear, the disciples of Mount Hua climbed quickly.
“Elder! There!”
“Hmm?”
Heo Sanja widened his eyes.
A group of martial artists was catching up to them from below very fast. They climbed the cliff like monkeys.
No, since martial artists couldn’t possibly be worse than monkeys, it had to be even better than that.
“Who, who are they?”
“Mount Hua! They are the disciples of Mount Hua, Elder!”
Heo Sanja gritted his teeth at Jin Hyun’s words.
‘Those bastards!’
It was those guys who had caused all this.
Thinking about that, he felt angry.
But he needed to worry about more than anger.
They were climbing much faster than Heo Sanja.
‘How can this be?’
No matter how strong they were, they were still young. How could they climb the cliff so fast?
Heo Sanja couldn’t understand it.
But understanding wasn’t important. It was happening right before his eyes.
“Heogong!”
“Yes, Senior Brother!”
“Lead the children! I will go up first!”
“Yes!”
Heo Sanja kicked off the cliff.
Soon, he moved his feet in a special way.
Whoosh.
It felt like a strong wind was lifting him up, and his body began to fly upwards.
“Cloud Ascending Step!”
Someone shouted in amazement from below.
The Cloud Ascending Step of Wudang could lift a person high into the air.
Of course, he couldn’t climb the whole cliff in one jump. But if he could grab the cliff in between, Heo Sanja would likely be the first to climb to the top.
And there was one person who couldn’t let that happen.
“What’s that bastard doing?”
Chung Myung’s eyes widened.
How could he let a Wudang bastard get the Hongwon Dan?
“I’m going first!”
“Chung Myung-ah!”
“What are you trying to do?!”
“I’ll eat it, even if I die!”
Chung Myung’s eyes shone fiercely.
The disciples of Mount Hua couldn’t believe their eyes.
Chung Myung suddenly took off his shoes and started running up the cliff.
“Huh?”
“Run?”
Chung Myung’s feet pushed off the cliff like it was flat ground. At the same time, his body shot upwards very fast.
“Euraaaah!”
Even though he started late, Chung Myung ran up the cliff faster than Heo Sanja was climbing.
“That young one?”
“Who’s calling me young, who!”
Me, you idiot! Huh? What about my age?
“Aoh! I’m so frustrated!”
They wouldn’t believe me even if I told them! Ugh! Being young is better!
The two climbed the cliff as if they were racing. They were incredibly fast.
Chung Myung ran up the cliff as if it were flat ground, gritting his teeth and kicking off the cliff with all his might.
At the same time, Heo Sanja also stepped into the air, launching his body towards the top of the cliff.
And then!
“Haaaah!”
“Euraaaah!”
Heo Sanja and Chung Myung flew into the gap in the cliff they were aiming for, almost at the same time.
