Henry Albert!
A man who seemed to represent the spirit of the times!
Count Samir sat down. Instead of getting straight to the point, he began by expressing how much he admired Henry.
“It’s a true honor to meet you like this,” Count Samir said. “I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed your book. After reading it many times, I felt like I was right there with you during the Southern Front battle. How did you manage to write such an amazing book?”
It was a sincere question. Having finally met the author of a book that had deeply moved him, he simply wanted to know how it came to be.
Henry Albert scratched his head, acting a bit embarrassed. But his words were not humble at all.
“Well, when I started writing, I just wanted to describe what I saw and heard on the battlefield, without adding extra details. Everyone knows how great Roman Dmitry is, but they don’t know much about the Battle of the Southern Front, which is where he started to become famous, right? That day is still hard to believe. When Hector captured the base behind us and took the warp gate, the Cairo Royal Family was ready to make a deal with them, but Roman Dmitry was different.”
His voice became stronger. He seemed as proud as if he were Roman Dmitry himself.
“In the dark night, with torches lighting up the mountains, Roman Dmitry made a move that everyone would remember. He turned the war around all by himself. Edwin Hector, who was called the Star of Hector, tried to defeat Roman Dmitry, but when morning came, the mountain was covered with dead bodies. I was there that day. I saw something that seemed impossible, so how could I not write about it?”
“Indeed!” Count Samir clapped his knee, genuinely impressed.
Even though he had read about it in the book, hearing about the Southern Front battle made him feel excited.
Maybe because Count Samir was so impressed, Henry Albert started talking about things he hadn’t even been asked.
“Actually, I didn’t plan to write another book at first. But after seeing Roman Dmitry become so successful, I started to wonder how such an amazing person was born. He’s just a human being like us, isn’t he?”
“Indeed.”
“But why? Why is Roman Dmitry different from everyone else? It’s because of the unusual choices he makes.”
“Unusual choices?”
The atmosphere was getting more exciting. The conversation was becoming very interesting.
“Think about the Southern Front battle. When everyone else was talking about giving up, Roman Dmitry saw a chance to win. When the Cairo civil war started, people thought Marquis Benedict would win because he had Chronos’s support, but Roman Dmitry completely crushed the rebellion. He has made these kinds of choices again and again. When everyone says no, Roman Dmitry proves them wrong with his results. These unusual choices lead to amazing outcomes that surprise everyone, and that’s what has made Roman Dmitry who he is today.”
“But isn’t that only possible because he’s Roman Dmitry?”
“I agree. The important thing is that he believes in himself. Because he has trained himself to not be influenced by what others say, Roman Dmitry does what he thinks is right, no matter what. That’s how life is. People who get lost because they listen to everyone else just disappear. Roman Dmitry is different. People criticized him for not following the usual path, but it was because he was different that he started a new era.”
“Ah!”
Henry Albert had become obsessed with Roman Dmitry.
At first, he had to study Roman Dmitry to keep his reputation, but as time passed, he truly admired him.
Roman Dmitry was his role model. With Roman Dmitry as his inspiration, Henry Albert’s life completely changed.
He felt confident and acted boldly. His books, ‘The Dmitry Family’ and ‘The World is One,’ were born from this new understanding.
He was no longer the old Henry Albert. Now, everyone respected him and looked up to him.
He had become a respected figure, the author of a popular book and a professor at the Cairo Royal Academy.
“It’s an honor to hear such a great lecture in person,” Count Samir said.
“You’re too kind.”
Count Samir calmed his excitement. It was time to get to the real reason for his visit.
He had gained Henry Albert’s favor, so he carefully brought up the main question. “Actually, the reason I wanted to meet Professor Henry Albert was to ask about Loren Dmitry.”
Henry Albert smiled brightly. “Ask me anything. No one at the Cairo Royal Academy knows Loren Dmitry better than I do.”
Just a few years ago, Henry Albert was a sad man. He was arrogant and relied on his family, so he didn’t have good relationships.
But then he met Roman Dmitry and changed. He realized that there were people in the world who were far above him, and that even someone like him could succeed if he stayed close to an important person.
From that moment on, he focused on building relationships. He treated his subordinates well and was always kind and smiling.
When he became a professor at the Cairo Royal Academy, he put a lot of effort into helping Loren Dmitry.
He visited Loren whenever he could and talked to him. Because of this, Loren Dmitry opened up to him.
One day, Loren Dmitry said, “I’ve been feeling down about myself lately. My second older brother, Rodwell Dmitry, graduated at the top of the academy and broke all the records. And my first older brother is Roman Dmitry, the greatest swordsman in the world. No matter how hard I try, can I ever be as good as them? No one needed me when Dmitry was fighting wars, so why do I have to work so hard to be in this position?”
It was a complaint. Henry Albert thought about Loren’s words.
‘If I were Loren Dmitry, could I handle the pressure of being Dmitry’s third son?’
He wasn’t sure. Loren Dmitry was still not as good as his brothers, but he was considered talented at the Cairo Royal Academy.
What about Henry Albert? He had no talent and his family saw him as a burden. But now he was a professor at the Cairo Royal Academy.
If he were the old Henry Albert, he wouldn’t have known what to say to Loren Dmitry.
But the new Henry Albert, who was living a different life, didn’t just give up because of the situation.
“Loren, your brothers are amazing, but comparing yourself to them will only make you unhappy. Most of the students at the Cairo Royal Academy are not as good as you. That’s why they are in the lower classes and they look up to you the same way you look up to your brothers. I’m not saying you should be happy just because you’re better than others. People can’t always be perfect, and ordinary people like me have to constantly compare themselves to others.”
They were ordinary men.
Henry Albert grinned, seeing a connection grow between himself and Loren Dimitri.
“Look. Even someone like me manages to scrape by as a professor at the Cairo Royal Academy. So, don’t get caught up in comparisons. Live the life you want. If you do that, you won’t be unhappy, even if you fall behind others.”
That day, Henry Albert made a friend.
He formed a good relationship with Loren Dimitri. Because of this, Henry Albert started paying a little more attention to his relationships.
Henry Albert was a respected professor. People admired him, not just because of Roman Dimitri’s fame, but also because of his own hard work. People knew he was a good professor in his own right.
Count Samir’s question was an easy problem.
Henry Albert gladly helped the guest who came to him.
“Loren Dimitri doesn’t need a material gift. Right now, the thing he values most is his own interests. Loren Dimitri wants to move on to the next stage quickly, even after being promoted to Class A, so he would really like anything that supports his growth. The Loren Dimitri I know is thirsty for growth.”
It was the perfect answer.
Count Samir smiled brightly at the answer that accurately pointed out what to do.
It was a short meeting, but Henry Albert’s kindness would remain in his head for a long time.
The day before the promotion ceremony, the Dimitri family arrived in Kairos.
A flash of bright light filled the air as the warp gate shimmered and faded. When the light died down, the Dimitri family stood there, and Kairos erupted in cheers. The crowd roared, a wave of sound washing over the palace square. People waved flags with the Dimitri crest and shouted, “Dimitri! Dimitri!” The excitement was like a fire spreading through the city.
“Waaah!”
“Dimitri! Dimitri!”
“Roman Dimitri! We respect you!”
“Kyaaah-!”
It was chaos.
Kairos and Dimitri were close allies because of their shared history.
The Principality of Dimitri originally came from Kairos. The two countries joined forces during Duke Benedict’s rebellion and the all-out war with Chronos.
Because of this, Roman Dimitri was seen as a hero of Kairos.
If Roman Dimitri had not done so well, the Kingdom of Kairos would have been destroyed when Benedict rebelled.
“Dimitri! Dimitri!”
A large crowd gathered along the way.
Roman Dimitri walked as if he was used to it, but Duke Dimitri, his father, waved awkwardly, perhaps because he was not used to such cheers.
The world was changing. The enthusiastic reaction to Roman Dimitri showed that Dimitri’s status was different from before.
They walked for a while. When they finally arrived at Kairos Palace, Daniel Kairos came to the front door to greet the Dimitri family.
“Welcome. I’ve been waiting.”
They sat down.
Daniel Kairos asked how everyone was doing and then suddenly started talking about the past.
“It seems that no one can guess what will happen. When the Kingdom of Kairos was being controlled by the Empire’s supporters, I contacted Roman Dimitri, grabbing at straws. I asked him to be on my side. Of course, I knew that Dimitri’s power alone could not change things, but at that time, I had to do it.”
The Kairos royal family and Dimitri had a complicated relationship.
Dimitri clearly came from Kairos, but Daniel Kairos could not look down on Dimitri.
He had to respect them.
Kairos was not in a position to rule Dimitri.
“The Kingdom of Kairos would not be as free as it is now without Dimitri’s help in Duke Benedict’s rebellion and the threat of the Chronos Empire. When Dimitri announced a new kingdom alliance, I knew it was time to make a decision.”
“What are you talking about?”
The atmosphere was strange.
Duke Dimitri asked with a stiff expression. Daniel Kairos was determined to finish what he wanted to say.
“I’ve been thinking a lot. Hector, Umberto, Redford, Frank. They all accepted Dimitri as the leader of the new kingdom alliance. The same is true for Kairos. The Principality of Dimitri, or rather, Roman Dimitri, was the only one who could stand against the rapidly changing future.”
Some people said that Kairos’ situation had become ridiculous.
They said that Kairos gave power to Dimitri, and Dimitri became so big that the word ‘principality’ no longer made sense.
That word could sound bad.
But Daniel Kairos accepted reality.
Instead of being upset about Dimitri’s growth, he focused on the good things that came from it.
The Kingdom of Kairos was nothing more than a scarecrow.
Chronos, Valhalla, and the central government, led by Duke Benedict, shook the royal family, and Daniel Kairos could not do what he wanted.
Roman Dimitri changed the situation.
Now that it was worth living, now that he could breathe, Daniel Kairos did not want to foolishly hold onto power.
‘The world is changing, and we must understand what is happening.’
He made a decision.
He ignored the people who were laughing.
He decided what was truly right for Kairos.
Dimitri, Roman Dimitri, would become even greater than he was now.
“From this moment on, we recognize the Principality of Dimitri as an independent nation. When Dimitri becomes an Empire, the Kingdom of Kairos wishes to be a supporting country. That is the future I see for Kairos and Dimitri.”
Daniel Kairos announced his decision.
