Swordmaster Wants to Live Peacefully Episode 216
The Return of the Sword God
The Yu Seongwu group returned to Korea from the Demonic Cult.
They landed at Gimpo Airport, using an empty runway, aboard the somewhat shaky Demonic Cult’s plane.
Thanks to Batory and Schuel’s magic concealing them, they were able to land safely without any issues.
After sending the Demonic Cult’s plane back, they took the car Yu Jiwoo had sent and quickly returned to their respective homes.
“Uncle! Sis!”
The first to greet them upon entering the house was Knox, whom they hadn’t seen in a while.
She ran towards Yu Seongwu and leaped into his arms.
He subtly dodged, and Schuel, who was trailing behind, was ambushed instead.
Yu Seongwu, having offered Schuel as a sacrifice to the love-starved Knox, collapsed onto the sofa in his long-missed home, savoring the texture.
“Ah, this is it. A sensation I could never feel in the Fortress or the Demonic Cult…”
“Oppa, you’re back?”
Yu Jiwoo, wearing a gown, sat on the sofa, seemingly having just finished showering in the bathroom.
“Wow, how long has it been? It feels like a year.”
“Happy I came back quickly?”
“I would have said no before, but honestly, I am. I worry you might not come back every time you go somewhere.”
Yu Seongwu stared at Yu Jiwoo with a ‘did you eat something wrong?’ expression.
Yu Jiwoo was great in every way, but she sometimes said strange things.
Perhaps family becomes more special when you’re apart from them…
“Don’t say such cheesy things. I’ll definitely come back no matter what.”
“You know that’s even cheesier, right? You could just say you’re happy.”
Yu Jiwoo chuckled.
Her brother was always like this. Always trying to hide his embarrassment.
Even after all these years, this hadn’t changed.
“Sis, Schuel won’t wake up…”
Knox dragged the collapsed Schuel, who had been ambushed, and laid her on the sofa.
Her hair was disheveled, and her eyes were rolled back, showing how severe the attack had been.
Yu Seongwu glanced at Schuel and said,
“She’ll wake up soon. If she wants to use the computer, that is.”
“Compuder!”
As soon as he finished speaking, Schuel jumped up from the sofa and hurried to her room.
The sound of her aggressively engaging in the game echoed, as if she was trying to vent her pent-up frustration from not being able to play for so long.
“Ah, got a message.”
Yu Jiwoo looked at her smartphone, fiddling with it, then widened her eyes.
“Wow, what is all this?! I’ve only sorted through half of the items in the bag you brought back, Oppa, but what… this is insane?!”
“Is it that surprising?”
“Of course! This is more than most pharmaceutical companies have! And there are so many rare medicinal ingredients.”
“Well, I did clean out the Martial Alliance and the Demonic Cult’s warehouses.”
Yu Seongwu sprawled out, trying to find a comfortable position, and stretched once.
Even though he had returned to Korea after finishing his work, there was still more to do.
The mysterious contact he received after conquering Dalgi’s Abyss.
He had to resolve that as well.
‘…I didn’t expect the Ascension Church to approach me first.’
Yu Seongwu recalled the note he had seen at the end.
It was both an introduction from one of the Ascension Church’s executives and a way to meet.
The content suggested that since their interests aligned, they should meet and have a conversation.
He could have ignored it, but Yu Seongwu’s intuition told him he should meet.
From their perspective, they wouldn’t need to resort to such methods.
‘If our interests align, that means whoever that guy is, he also wants the Ascension Church to disappear.’
Yu Seongwu, judging that there would be no harm in meeting, closed his eyes, recalling the contents of the note he had seen back then.
“Uncle!”
‘Now that I think about it, I need to find Knox’s parents too.’
Knox jumped on top of him.
Yu Seongwu braced his core to absorb the impact of the charge.
He glared at Knox, who was on top of him, but she didn’t notice, too happy to see Yu Seongwu after so long, and rubbed her face against him.
“Like some kind of puppy…”
Wasn’t a dragon closer to a reptile in terms of species?
But why did her actions seem closer to a dog’s?
Anyway.
Yu Seongwu reached out and roughly stroked Knox’s head, saying,
“Did you behave well for the past month? Did you listen to Jiwoo and go to school?”
“Of course. I even took a test this time, and I got a hundred points!”
“Oppa, that’s a hundred points combined for five subjects?”
“S, Sis!”
“…Who did she take after to be such a blockhead? I’m glad she’s not my daughter.”
The matriarch of magic and a race closer to God than anyone else scored a combined hundred points on an elementary school test….
She seemed smart, but he couldn’t understand why her test scores were like that.
“I, it was a mistake!”
“Yeah, yeah. It’s okay if you’re not good at studying, just grow up healthy.”
“I’m serious!”
“No, I mean it. I didn’t care if Jiwoo was a blockhead when she was young. She used to get like 10 points on dictation tests.”
“R, really?!”
“Yeah. She didn’t shed the blockhead title until she suddenly started getting all perfect scores and becoming the top student in the entire school when she entered high school.”
It was a legend in the Yu family.
Yu Jiwoo, who had been bad at studying since she was young, suddenly started sweeping the top spot in the entire school while attending one or two academies [private tutoring centers], as if possessed by something….
“Well, anyway, it doesn’t matter whether you’re good at studying or not, just grow up healthy and righteous.”
“Like you, Uncle?”
“Do I look like a righteous adult to you? Have you already forgotten our first meeting?”
At his words, Knox seemed to recall the old memories and covered her horns with her hands.
Yu Seongwu had suggested cutting off all of Knox’s horns back then, and she was able to avoid it thanks to Yu Jiwoo stopping him.
“S, still, among the adults I know, Sis and Uncle are the… best people.”
“That’s probably because you haven’t met many adults.”
Yu Seongwu knew very well that he and Yu Jiwoo weren’t exactly good role models for adults.
“A good adult is… Woohyun… no, not Schuel either, not Hong Seohwa, not Choi Ayeon either.”
Yu Seongwu, realizing anew that there were no good adults around him, sighed deeply.
At least his companions from the other world would have been decent adults…
‘No, those guys aren’t normal either. What was I thinking?’
He grabbed Knox’s head, spun her around, and said,
“Just grow up as you are. Don’t think about emulating anyone around you.”
“I, is that okay?”
“Yes. You must.”
Rather, you shouldn’t emulate anyone.
Otherwise, there was a possibility of growing up into an abnormal adult.
At his words, Knox smiled brightly and nodded.

“Looks like everyone’s been doing well while I haven’t been around?”
Yu Seongwu returned to action a few days after returning to Korea.
Officially, he was said to have been inside the Abyss with the other guild members.
An article was published stating that Yu Seongwu had finished conquering the Abyss at the same time as his return from the Demonic Cult, but there were guilds that were running rampant in his absence.
After several incidents in Korea, Yu Seongwu, along with Sword Soul and Meteor Industries, had become untouchable.
But since he hadn’t come out of the Abyss for a long time…
“I was going to take care of things quickly, but some strange guys are mixed in.”
The place he had entered was a Class 3 Abyss.
He had entered the Abyss, which he had bought in the name of Sword Soul, also to search for Ascendants, but there were guys who shouldn’t be there.
“Don’t you know trespassing is prohibited?”
This Abyss was off-limits to anyone other than Meteor Industries and its affiliated guild, Sword Soul.
It was a place that handled important materials, so entry was even more strictly prohibited.
“Damn it, we’re caught! Run!”
“No, sh*t, why is that guy here?!”
The group of three immediately used their abilities and scattered as soon as they saw Yu Seongwu.
They must have had stealth-type abilities, as they disappeared in an instant.
“Are we playing tag?”
Yu Seongwu chuckled, dumbfounded by these thieving bastards, and drew his sword.
Tag was a great way to relieve stress.
And if he caught them, he could find out how they got in.
Not long after the guys ran away, Yu Seongwu caught them all.
A flea is just a flea, no matter how much it jumps.
No matter how much stealth ability a flea has, it couldn’t escape him.
After catching the three guys and breaking their legs, Yu Seongwu squatted down in front of them, examining their faces.
“Feeling frustrated?”
He removed the masks from their faces and examined their equipment.
Their equipment was professional, as if they specialized in this kind of work.
An artifact bag with expansion magic cast on it to hold a lot of materials, and even a field shovel that looked like a custom-made product.
Yu Seongwu took their bags and shook them out.
They were full of diligently collected materials, making them undeniably caught red-handed.
“Who sent you?”
He glanced at the three guys and spoke, but the three of them kept their mouths shut, despite their faces contorted in pain from their broken legs.
Yu Seongwu nodded at their reaction.
He didn’t particularly need them to speak.
“If you were doing this on your own, I’d say something, but since you’re not talking, that means there’s a real backer.”
Yu Seongwu had been a thief before, so he knew exactly what the guys were thinking right now.
He had no intention of letting them go, so he tore one of the guy’s clothes and tied the three of them together, dragging them away.
Not caring whether their faces were being scraped on the ground, he moved at a fast pace.
“Kkeuaaaaaaak!”
“Ah, aaaaak!”
“You shouldn’t have been caught if you were going to steal someone else’s stuff.”
If you get caught stealing someone else’s stuff, you’re a robber from then on, and you need to have the skills for that.
Yu Seongwu dragged the three guys out and threw them to Seo Yeonjeong, who was waiting outside.
“Who are these guys?”
“I caught them inside the Abyss. Petty thieves stealing materials.”
“……!”
At his words, Seo Yeonjeong understood the seriousness of the situation, nodded, and immediately contacted someone.
“All three of them had stealth-type abilities. It seems like there’s a separate backer, so find out.”
“Understood.”
“I need to promote more aggressively? It seems like there are still many guys who think I haven’t returned.”
“I will consider that as well. The tendencies of guilds and companies do change slightly when Yu Seongwu is in the country and when he is not.”
“They need to be aware. They should know by now that there are more than one or two places that have been destroyed for not being careful.”
“I will extract the information from them and then handle them accordingly.”
“Okay.”
Yu Seongwu nodded.
He trusted Seo Yeonjeong’s handling of things. He left the three guys to her and stretched.
The place he was at now was an Abyss near Gangnam [a wealthy district in Seoul].
The reason he, who was based in Sehyun City, had come all the way up to Seoul was because he had business nearby.
He turned his head and looked at a building visible among the buildings in the distance.
The National Library of Korea.
It was his destination for today.
