Swordmaster Wants to Live Peacefully – Episode 280
Swordmaster Wants to Live Peacefully Episode 280
Journey to Heaven (6)
The World of Samjeong.
It was a harsh world for a dragon.
Only moving forward was allowed.
But that was the same for Yoo Seong-woo. His path was hemmed in by steep cliffs on either side.
There was no room to retreat; the story was progressing on a fixed track, allowing only forward movement.
And so, a story completed by forcing oneself into a corner.
The green energy that erupted from the ground enveloped Yoo Seong-woo’s body.
This energy quickly solidified, transforming into armor adorned with sharp blades.
Dragon Hunter’s full body armor, crafted from dragon bones and scales.
“This is awesome,” Yoo Seong-woo grinned, then launched himself off the ground.
The ground he pushed off from crumbled with a deafening roar, sending dust billowing into the air. He shot forward in a straight, green streak, aiming Samjeong at one of Yamata no Orochi’s heads.
The instant Samjeong’s tip made contact, the head detonated, the explosion cascading down its neck.
-Kuh-uk!
Yamata no Orochi faltered.
Yoo Seong-woo pressed his advantage, swinging his sword in rapid succession, causing three more heads to explode as if they were balloons.
-What have you done!
“What do you mean, ‘what have I done?'”
The moment he manifested his unique world, he instinctively grasped how to wield this power, just as he had during the Fifth Month and Hexagram [referring to previous challenges or training].
Dragon Hunters are, in essence, a breed of madmen.
They brazenly venture into the very mouths of dragons, fashioning armor from the hides of their kills.
They possess a unique, almost deranged desire to conquer beings that inspire fear in others.
Only such individuals can truly become Dragon Hunters.
“Hoo-eup!” He swung his sword again.
Each time Samjeong touched one of Yamata no Orochi’s heads, it exploded without fail.
The Blaster family, a lineage of dragon slayers spanning generations, possessed a unique characteristic in their aura training method: ‘explosiveness’.
Aura manifested as explosions.
Yoo Seong-woo was able to harness this unique trait while constructing a unique world that encapsulated their stories.
‘The power is on a different level compared to directly implementing it.’
Yoo Seong-woo generated an explosive burst of aura beneath his feet, altering his trajectory mid-air.
Yamata no Orochi’s tail lashed out, narrowly missing the spot he had occupied.
-How cheeky!
The exploded heads of Yamata no Orochi regenerated instantly, resuming their assault on Yoo Seong-woo.
However, unlike before, Yoo Seong-woo was no longer an easy target.
He accelerated by detonating explosions beneath his feet, making it difficult to track him as he changed direction with ease.
Despite this, Yoo Seong-woo continued to land his attacks.
Massive explosions erupted wherever the sword struck, shattering the dragon’s flesh.
-Kuh-uk!
“Are you finally coming to your senses?!”
As if forgetting his original objective, Yoo Seong-woo gleefully delivered a one-sided beating.
Soon, as if depleted of energy, Yamata no Orochi slumped.
Yoo Seong-woo landed before him, gripping Samjeong firmly.
“It seems too early to end this just yet.”
-…….
Sensing danger, Yoo Seong-woo immediately retreated, planting his feet firmly on the ground.
Vast divinity surged from Yamata no Orochi’s eight heads, which snapped upright.
The second dragon breath he had faced.
A devastating cataclysm capable of reshaping the landscape hurtled towards Yoo Seong-woo.
However, this time, he did not cower behind Samjeong.
He was now a dragon hunter, relentlessly pursuing dragons. How could such a being fear dragon breath?
He dug his legs deeper into the earth, grasped Samjeong with both hands, and drew it back.
“Hoo-eup.”
Before the breath arrived, he inhaled deeply, enveloping Samjeong and his entire body in divinity and aura.
Samjeong, greedily devouring his power, grew even stronger, radiating a deep green light, while the armor sharpened and shimmered.
Then, he swung his sword.
The trajectory of Samjeong’s swing traced an elegant arc. The arc was short compared to the approaching breath, but…
Kwaaaaaaa─!!
It was more than sufficient to create a small opening, just large enough for Yoo Seong-woo’s body to pass through.
The instant Yoo Seong-woo’s trajectory intersected with the breath, the torrent of energy split to either side.
The light, imbued with the will of the Eight-Headed Dragon’s ultimate attack, was cleaved in two.
Yoo Seong-woo felt a searing pain in his hands, but the intense sensation did not overwhelm him.
Compared to the burns he had suffered before, his body was now enduring remarkably well.
Soon, Yoo Seong-woo, having bisected the breath, walked heavily across the scorched, shimmering earth.
Yamata no Orochi’s eight heads appeared weary, but their bright yellow eyes still burned with fighting spirit.
“Let’s finish this, lizard,” Yoo Seong-woo declared, assuming a battle stance.
The method he had chosen to kill Yamata no Orochi was to sever all of its heads simultaneously.
Yamata no Orochi, in turn, mustered its remaining strength.
It, too, had constructed its own unique world, but it was overwhelmed by Yoo Seong-woo’s, which possessed a superior compatibility.
Even so, its momentum had not completely dissipated.
A god is an entity that completes its own world and constructs a universe.
Finally, Yamata no Orochi unveiled the universe it had forged within its inner world.
Numerous formulas swirled around it, reconstructing the space and overwriting the very fabric of reality.
The parched canyon refilled with water, and countless monsters materialized above it.
-This is my last Night Parade.
Leading the charge were countless unknown monsters, with Yamata no Orochi bringing up the rear.
Causality Collapse
Eight-Headed Dragon’s Myriad Ghost Night Parade
A myriad ghost night parade that bypassed cause and effect, focusing solely on the desired outcome.
Yoo Seong-woo, now faced with the daunting task of breaking through a wave of over ten thousand monsters, gritted his teeth.
Yes, this was the true power of a Great Divinity.
He would not retreat.
Even if he did, there was nowhere to retreat to.
All that remained was to press forward.
He had to cut down everything Yamata no Orochi had unleashed and achieve his own great victory.
He waded through the knee-high water, advancing relentlessly.
He swung his sword, felling the monsters that charged from the front, and scattered green flames in all directions, incinerating them.
They burned fiercely, exceptionally so.
Perhaps due to their inherently evil nature, they were consumed by the flames with extraordinary intensity.
He stepped over the burning, writhing monsters, continuing his advance until he once again stood before Yamata no Orochi.
Yamata no Orochi, awaiting him, emanated a terrifying demonic power and divinity from its entire being, befitting its status as a great monster.
The water surged with greater force.
Lightning began to strike.
Undaunted by the adversity, Yoo Seong-woo gripped the sword with both hands and unleashed the aura and divinity he had accumulated.
The dark green greatsword swung with immense force, embodying a single, profound sword principle.
Dragon Slayer Swordsmanship Secret Technique
Dragon Killing
An ancient technique inscribed within Samjeong.
It was a simple swordsmanship designed to cut down and kill a dragon, but through the infusion of Yoo Seong-woo’s divinity, it had been elevated into a sword energy capable of slaying a dragon god.
The dark green sword energy cleaved through the world.
It undeniably shattered Yamata no Orochi’s world.
-Excellent…
Where the sword energy had passed.
All eight of Yamata no Orochi’s heads tumbled to the ground, and its massive body collapsed.
Simultaneously, the remaining monsters vanished like smoke.
Yoo Seong-woo also dropped to one knee, using Samjeong as a crutch to support himself. He had exhausted all of his strength.
However, he trembled at the overwhelming sense of liberation that washed over him.
Having slain Yamata no Orochi, all of the divinity it possessed flowed into Yoo Seong-woo.
Whether it had been prearranged or not, the influx of divinity was enough to completely transform his entire being.
“Keuk…….”
He hadn’t even fully assimilated the divinity of the gods he had captured in Takamagahara [the heavenly realm in Japanese mythology], and now, this massive surge of power threatened to overwhelm him.
Yoo Seong-woo barely managed to cling to his sanity.
As he blinked, Yamata no Orochi’s colossal corpse vanished, replaced by a sword lying before him.
A hilt adorned with what appeared to be loosely attached dragon scales.
In contrast to the clumsy craftsmanship of the hilt, the neatly stretched blade possessed a slightly bluish hue and an exquisite beauty.
It was a chilling beauty that seemed capable of cutting through anything.
‘Was that what it meant?’
Was this the physical blade sharpened to cut Susano-o [a prominent Shinto god]?
Yoo Seong-woo instinctively reached for the sword, clutching it to his chest as if fearing someone would snatch it away.
As he did so, the rampaging divinity was drawn into the sword, becoming calm.
The sword had absorbed the divinity he should have received, pacifying it.
And only the amount of divinity that Yoo Seong-woo could safely handle flowed from the sword into him.
Unlike the crude swords that only knew how to devour divinity, this one was a benevolent sword that knew how to give.
As his body calmed, Yoo Seong-woo lay down and dispelled the unique world he had created.
The vast canyon, once filled with raging river water, disappeared, leaving behind only the shallow, rippling river.
It was a trace that Yamata no Orochi had once existed.
‘I feel like I’m going to die.’
It was the first time he had faced a Great Divinity.
It was also the first time he had expended so much energy.
When he had defeated the Demon God, he had at least been able to move, but now that was impossible.
He couldn’t even twitch a finger.
Then, Shuten-doji [a famous oni or demon leader in Japanese folklore] rushed towards him from afar, exclaiming, “We have to leave this place right now!”
“…Why?”
“Since the father who was in charge of one axis of the 4th floor of Takamagahara has disappeared, other gods will come to check soon. It’ll be a headache if we get caught.”
“Huh, it’s hard to move right now.”
Yoo Seong-woo struggled to raise his trembling body. Shuten-doji supported him, and as they were about to depart, Yoo Seong-woo turned back and said, “It looks like they’re already here.”
A powerful divinity could be felt approaching from afar.
Likely one of the Seven Lucky Gods [a group of deities in Japanese mythology] from the 4th floor was rapidly approaching.
As it turned out, they had no choice but to fight again.
As Yoo Seong-woo assumed a fighting stance, gripping the sword that seemed to have come from Yamata no Orochi, Shuten-doji clenched his fists tightly.
However, no clash occurred between the two and the approaching god.
A strong light descended from the night sky, forming a massive barrier.
A barrier of light that even isolated the gods of the 4th floor.
Yoo Seong-woo recognized the source and smirked. “Drunkard, now’s the time.”
“…Amaterasu [the sun goddess in Japanese mythology] helped us.”
It was clearly intended to give them time to escape, so the two quickly fled the scene.
After the two disappeared, the god who arrived late, blocked by the barrier, looked around and raised his head. “What are you doing? Lady Amaterasu. Where did Yamata no Orochi go again?”
Amaterasu, still clad in her tracksuit, descended from the sky in response to the god’s cry.
She snorted and said, “Hmph, it’s none of your business.”
“I know that Amaterasu is selfish, but this is a serious matter!”
“Hmph! He must have died because he did something worth dying for! I’m going now!”
“Lady Amaterasu!”
“Hmph, hmph!”
