Destiny (2)
The battle on the plains ignited conflict between the three factions.
However, the battle was short-lived.
The ‘Great Sea’ faction, led by Poseidon, quickly retreated, leaving only ‘Sky’ and ‘Underworld’ to confront each other.
Of course, even as a deity of the Underworld, Persephone alone sufficiently represented the Underworld.
Hades and Persephone virtually divided the entire Underworld’s divinity.
Because of her presence, the Sky deities couldn’t act rashly. In the end, only Artemis and Medea continued the battle between Sky and Underworld.
“Just give up now,” Artemis said, aiming her bow at Medea.
Medea, hearing her words, chuckled as she pulled out the arrow embedded in her shoulder.
“If I were going to give up, I wouldn’t have started. I need to see this through to the end.”
“If that’s how you want it.”
Artemis released the bowstring.
The arrow, stretching out like a ray of light, split into dozens of strands and rained down on Medea, but she unfolded a shield made of viscous purple liquid to block them.
Artemis frowned as all her arrows were blocked.
It would have been an attack that Medea’s power couldn’t withstand, but from the beginning, she avoided all fatal wounds and responded skillfully.
“Hmph.”
Medea chuckled softly.
This was all because she had completed her world.
She had taken a step further from the unique world she could originally unfold. Because she chose to let go of her lingering attachments and move forward, her more mature divinity allowed her to withstand Artemis’s attacks.
A complete divinity, not a demigod.
Medea healed her injuries and took out a dagger.
“So, what curse should I inflict? Do you perhaps have a curse you desire? Tell me any curse.”

Is human destiny determined at the moment of birth?
If that is the case, should all humans live in accordance with fate?
Just hoping that their circumstances will change?
Yu Seongwu didn’t think so.
If destiny really existed, if it were unchangeable, he would already be dead.
“I prophesy: You will soon be torn to pieces and die.”
“I’ll prove that’s a bogus prophecy.”
Lachesis, who had obtained the truth of the past, present, and future and become ‘Destiny’ itself, delivered a terrible prophecy.
In Greek mythology, a prophecy signifies a future that will be fulfilled in some way.
Every word spoken by Lachesis, who possesses the divinity of the past, present, and future and is destiny itself, is a prophecy in itself.
‘I am a little curious about how I’ll be torn to death,’ Yu Seongwu thought, a grim amusement flickering in his mind.
That would never happen.
Until now, no one had ever read his destiny.
Not even the gods.
Yu Seongwu drew his sword.
He stared at Destiny with his life in his hands. She was still floating above in the night, emitting intense divinity.
‘She hasn’t completely taken over Jeremiah yet. Once she can fully use Jeremiah’s power, it will be difficult to stop her then.’
The only chance is now.
He jumped into the air and swung his sword at Destiny.
However, she dodged the sword with ease and reached out, emitting energy.
Yu Seongwu summoned the Three Sovereigns [powerful swords] and used them as a shield, barely blocking the attack.
Pushed back, he stepped forward again and swung his sword.
He summoned other swords several times, using them as footholds, and unleashed attacks from every possible angle.
Thousands of strikes rained down on Destiny, but she stood in place and dodged every single one.
Then, she reached out to Yu Seongwu and pulled him in with tremendous force, grabbing his nape with her small hand.
“Ugh!”
“Destiny cannot be defied, child.”
“Bullshit!”
Yu Seongwu grabbed her wrist with both hands and twisted it with all his might.
However, the emaciated wrist didn’t twist. An intangible force wrapped around the wrist, preventing it from moving.
“I’ll tear you apart right here.”
Destiny’s other hand aimed for Yu Seongwu’s head.
She placed her hand on the crown of his head, as if to pull his head from his body while still holding him.
Feeling like his neck would be pulled out if this continued, Yu Seongwu smiled instead of twisting his arm and said, “Does having my head pulled off and dying count as being torn apart?”
“Destiny cannot be defied.”
“You say that, but you don’t seem to know your own destiny very well.”
As he spoke, Destiny released her hand from Yu Seongwu’s neck and turned her body.
The four swords that had approached from behind were trying to pierce her heart and vitals.
Yu Seongwu, freed from her grasp, stepped back and touched his neck, thinking.
‘It was an irresistible force.’
It was a little different from telekinesis.
A terrifying coercion was felt, so this must be Destiny’s authority.
The authority completed by the past, present, and future becoming one.
It would take some time to grasp its true nature, but he roughly understood one thing.
‘Not even once did a sword touch her.’
The first strike was one thing, but the thousands of strikes that followed were the same.
Even though he attacked from all directions to make it impossible to avoid, not even the tip of the blade touched her.
‘Is she reading the future?’
Even for a deity, it wasn’t an attack that could be seen and reacted to, so it was in the realm of instinct or precognition [ability to see the future].
Yu Seongwu took a long breath and regained his composure.
‘An enemy who reads the future…’
It’s not like he’s never faced one before.
There was a demon from another world who also read the future.
He was a guy who read the next move by reading the future with special magic, and I remember struggling quite a bit.
How did I kill that guy?
Yu Seongwu recalled his memories for a moment and then nodded.
There’s only one way.
Increase the number of possibilities until he can’t read the future, and then carry out the attack.
‘Sorry, Jeremiah. I hope you understand even if one or two of your arms get cut off.’
It seemed like he couldn’t subdue her otherwise.
Wouldn’t it be better to cut off one arm and replace it with an automail [prosthetic limb]?
Anyway.
“Hoo.”
He took a short breath and extremely lowered his upper body, shifting his center of gravity, and then kicked off the air as he charged forward.
Destiny frowned slightly at the speed that was faster than the previous strikes.
But soon, as if she didn’t care, she shined her iridescent eyes and said, “You will be caught in my hands.”
And with that, the coercion he had felt earlier occurred again.
Yu Seongwu gritted his teeth as his body was sucked back towards Destiny and stretched out his sword, adding to the pulling force.
The tip of his sword, advancing while engraving a streak of red light in the dark night, collided with Destiny’s hand.
Then, Destiny’s hand was pushed back greatly, and the coercion disappeared.
“Okay, I think I roughly understand now.”
Yu Seongwu, who stepped back for a moment, stroked his neck and analyzed what he had just experienced.
‘Is it the power to confirm the future by prophesying? What an annoying type of power.’
There were several types of powers that read the future.
The demon Yu Seongwu had faced read the future of the most probable ‘possibility’ and read the moves.
The Destiny in front of him now was the type that confirmed the read future and made it happen without fail.
Among the powers capable of precognition, it was the most difficult to deal with.
Forcibly confirming the future would consume a lot of magic and divinity, but the merit was that great.
It could lead the situation as one wanted, and it was even possible to kill the opponent according to the prophecies one uttered.
“In a way, it’s a power close to dragon words [words that can alter reality].”
Of course, Destiny’s ability was a higher-level ability than that.
He had managed to break through it once just now, so if he got used to it, he would be able to deal with it somehow.
Yu Seongwu swung his sword lightly and said, “Keep going. Let’s see how far you can go.”
Destiny stretched out both hands and compressed the space. The night she had unfolded, the universe, pressed down on Yu Seongwu with tremendous mass and gravity.
Yu Seongwu swung his life and cut through the surrounding space.
The space split along his swordsmanship shone red, pushing away the intangible mass and gravity, creating space to move.
Destiny says.
“Be crushed.”
Then, the split space returned to its original state, and the pressure began again.
Yu Seongwu gritted his teeth and cut through the space again, then stepped back and looked around.
‘It looks good to get out of here.’
This place had already been encroached upon by Destiny’s divinity, so there was no point in staying any longer.
Just continuing to endure in the space was constantly consuming divinity.
“Otherworld, Three Sovereigns. Block it for a moment.”
Yu Seongwu summoned his swords to create a barrier, then turned his body and concentrated.
Destiny had unfolded the space lightly, but he had hit it several times while fighting, and it was quite solid.
It wasn’t a space that could be broken by lightly hitting it.
He put strength into the hand holding his life and drew up his divinity.
Then, he injected all his divinity into his life, covered it with blood, and cut it out in one go.
As the sword drew a streak of red in the night with a graceful curve, the scenery outside came into view.
‘Got it.’
And at the same time, an explosion was heard. Turning his head, he saw the Otherworld and Three Sovereigns, which had been attacking Destiny, flying towards Yu Seongwu in tattered states.
Yu Seongwu returned the three swords and said as he saw Destiny flying towards him, “Let’s change the battlefield. Isn’t it too narrow here?”
Then, he gave her the middle finger once and immediately threw his body into the gap in the space he had created.
Yu Seongwu, who had escaped from Destiny’s space, quickly retraced his steps and escaped from Destiny’s temple.
As soon as he escaped from the temple, the ceiling of the temple was completely destroyed, and Destiny soared out.
She floated in the sky and looked down.
At the same time, the gazes of the deities in Olympus turned to her.
The powerful divinity flowing from her was similar to that of a chief god, and its density was even greater than that of the chief gods.
The deities of Olympus recognized that it was the Moirai sisters [the Fates] with familiar divinity, but they seemed confused because their appearances didn’t match.
Destiny looked down at such deities and opened her mouth.
“You will capture Yu Seongwu.”
At her one word, the deities who were looking at her in confusion all stopped and turned into puppet dolls.
Their necks cracked and turned, all facing Yu Seongwu, and then they emitted their respective divinities with hazy eyes and rushed towards Yu Seongwu.
To think she would use the ability to forcibly confirm the future in this way.
Yu Seongwu clicked his tongue and flew into the air.
Then, he flew towards the plains where the holy war had been taking place and landed in the middle of the ongoing battle.
With a loud boom, Artemis, who was about to draw her bow, was surprised and released the string, and Medea also threw her dagger.
Yu Seongwu, who deflected the arrow with his right hand and caught the dagger with his left hand, returned the dagger in his hand to Medea and said, “Medea, I think I’m screwed.”
