The Red Moon building.
Kang Min-ho sat in the waiting room. He tried to hide his shaking hands.
“I don’t think I will get out of here alive,” he thought.
His mouth felt very dry.
When he looked up, he saw angry eyes staring at him. He kept his eyes down while he was in the waiting room. Sweat dripped down Kang Min-ho’s back, even though the room was cold.
Ten minutes earlier, Kang Min-ho had arrived at the Red Moon building with Roman Dmitry.
Even when he had agreed to follow him, he believed that Roman Dmitry had a plan to bring down Red Moon.
A direct attack was impossible, right?
Yet, Roman Dmitry confidently walked into the Red Moon building through the main entrance. He said something that made no sense, while still using translation magic.
“Summon the guild master of Red Moon. I want to talk about the murder of Go Sang-ho.”
He didn’t make any excuses. He didn’t hesitate at all.
He bluntly said he had murdered someone, and Red Moon was thrown into chaos.
And so, this was the situation.
They were taken to the waiting room as if to talk. But there was no tea or anything for guests. It was clear this was not a friendly visit.
Red Moon guild members crowded in. Dozens of them watched with angry eyes, ready to attack when they were told to.
Among them, one man stood out.
“Why are we letting them sit comfortably like that? Let’s cut off one of their arms. Those bastards killed my brother. I can’t stand seeing them comfortable for even a second.”
“We need the guild master’s order.”
“Yes, I know. But didn’t they already admit it?”
This was Go Sang-min, Go Sang-ho’s younger brother.
His face was red because his brother was dead. He played with his weapon, shaking with anger inside.
They could have cut off one of their arms, like he said.
But they were summoned to the waiting room and given time because Roman Dmitry had confidently come to Red Moon.
It was crazy.
They thought there must be a reason for acting so strange, so they decided to wait for Cha Dong-chul’s decision.
Kang Min-ho swallowed hard several times.
It was a death trap.
Each minute felt like forever. He felt safer in the hunting grounds.
“What is Roman Dmitry thinking? How can he be so calm?”
It didn’t make sense.
Roman Dmitry sat comfortably in his chair.
He calmly accepted the angry looks, even looking around as if he had all the time in the world.
Did that attitude make people angry?
As time passed, the air became heavy. It felt like anything could make things explode before they could wait any longer for the guild master.
It was a very tense situation.
Then,
“So, you’re the ones who killed our Sang-ho.”
Cha Dong-chul had arrived.
Cha Dong-chul sat across from them.
He looked at them with fierce eyes and leaned back in his chair.
“Why did you kill Go Sang-ho?”
He asked the question casually.
The atmosphere became ice-cold.
Depending on the answer, people would die here.
Roman Dmitry spoke.
“There was no special reason. Go Sang-ho wanted to kill me first. So, I killed him.”
“What?”
Cha Dong-chul’s face twisted.
It was a direct answer.
If Go Sang-ho had tried to kill him first, it could be called self-defense. But that was not the answer Cha Dong-chul wanted to hear.
They had come to Red Moon’s base.
If they wanted to live, they had to beg for mercy, not act confident.
Kang Min-ho stepped forward.
“To be exact, it was self-defense. He came onto our land without asking. It’s the rule here that any punishment for trespassing is allowed. But we didn’t kill him right away. We warned him as punishment. Then, Go Sang-ho said he would kill us because of the Red Moon Guild. So, we had no choice.”
It was the least he could say to make an excuse.
Since Roman Dmitry wouldn’t bow his head, Kang Min-ho thought he had to do it himself.
Then, Cha Dong-chul started laughing like a crazy person.
“Heh heh heh, this is crazy. You didn’t come here to apologize, did you? You killed a member of Red Moon, and now you’re saying it was self-defense?”
Wham!
He slammed the desk.
The strong desk broke with a loud crash. Cha Dong-chul’s face became like a wild animal, his eyes full of hate.
“Yes, these things happen when you run a group. Some guys don’t know their place and cause trouble. It’s not smart to talk about self-defense to Red Moon. Whether you were right or wrong, we have to get revenge just because a member of Red Moon died. But instead of trying to calm us down, you’re talking about self-defense. How funny. You fools are asking for death.”
Clang.
The guild members nearby grabbed their weapons.
The situation got worse.
Roman Dmitry’s confidence had made everyone angry.
“I guess you don’t know how things work here because you’re a foreigner. But South Korea is like the wild west outside of Seoul. That means the laws don’t protect you here. It’s a shame. I was going to be nice to you because you’re a strong hunter like me, but I can’t do that anymore. Red Moon is my territory. You killed my man, so I’m going to show everyone what happens when you mess with Red Moon in Incheon.”
He stood up.
Just as he was about to give the order, Roman Dmitry calmly said,
“Is that your choice?”
The reason for visiting Red Moon was simple.
He wanted to give them a choice.
If they admitted Go Sang-ho was wrong, the situation would have ended there.
Red Moon would have been safe with only Go Sang-ho’s death. But Cha Dong-chul had crossed the line himself.
Then, there was no need.
No need to explain any further.
Cha Dong-chul’s face was twisted like a demon.
“You insolent bastard. You will not die easily today.”
At that moment,
“Attack!”
“Kill him!”
Tap tap tap!
The guild members rushed in all at once, as if they had been waiting for it.
Dozens of people.
It was overwhelming to see so many people rushing in the small space.
It was packed.
Trapped with no escape, the Red Moon guild members grinned, sure they would quickly overpower Roman Dmitry. They moved in, weapons raised, ready to strike.
Roman Dmitry tightened his grip on his sword. The worn leather of the hilt felt familiar in his hand.
It was a simple weapon, given to him by Kang Min-ho on the road to Red Moon. Kang Min-ho had been embarrassed, explaining it was just a basic sword, not even a good one. Roman Dmitry hadn’t minded. A sword was a sword.
Beside him, Kang Min-ho stood frozen, wanting to protect Roman Dmitry but feeling utterly helpless. Looking at the charging enemies, a wave of fear washed over him. *Survival?* he thought, his heart pounding. *Safety? Impossible.*
But then…
Flash!
Thwack!
The head of the guild member charging at the front flew off.
The moment he understood what happened, the guild members behind him were sprayed with blood.
Papat!
Fwoosh!
Kang Min-ho’s eyes widened in disbelief.
A calm voice reached his ears.
“Fall back. From now on, this is my role.”
Pat!
Rumble!
With a roar, Roman Dmitry exploded forward.
The Red Moon guild members, shocked by the unbelievable sight, gnashed their teeth. Recognizing Roman Dmitry, they tried to attack him from all directions.
But none of their attacks landed.
Before they could react, the attacks were deflected. The moment they entered his range, a terrible pain erupted.
“Kraaah!”
“Ack!”
Blood sprayed everywhere, painting the ground red and making the air thick with the metallic smell of iron.
An arm was torn off as someone tried to swing a sword. A leg was ripped apart as someone tried to charge. Their bodies were torn apart before they could even try anything.
Roman Dmitry didn’t stop. He plunged into the midst of the guild members, tearing apart anyone he encountered.
He didn’t even use magic, not really.
Using only a trace of mana, Roman Dmitry slaughtered them with savage ferocity, like a wolf rampaging through a flock of sheep.
Barely thirty seconds passed.
Already, more than a dozen guild members were dead.
Even Go Sang-min, who had been charging with rage, couldn’t help but be bewildered by the scene.
“This is insane.”
Thwack!
That was his last memory.
When Go Sang-min’s head flew off, the Red Moon guild members finally realized that something was terribly wrong.
“N-no way.”
“This is too strong.”
It was beyond common sense.
They couldn’t even begin to measure his power.
The scene unfolding before them, the sight of people dying in an instant… they knew Roman Dmitry was a monster.
It was then.
Kang Min-ho shouted.
“Roman Dmitry-nim!”
Flash!
Rumble!
Lightning struck from the sky.
As Roman Dmitry deflected it, Cha Dong-chul stared at him, dumbfounded.
“Your name is Roman Dmitry?”
A brief exchange.
It was enough time to understand Roman Dmitry’s skill.
With the power to slaughter over a dozen people in an instant, Cha Dong-chul knew that his subordinates alone could not handle him.
Flash!
Rumble!
It was a surprise attack.
Kang Min-ho saw the attack and shouted a warning to Roman Dmitry. But Cha Dong-chul’s attack was easily blocked. Kang Min-ho’s warning was unnecessary.
The attack fell like lightning. When the intensely exploding mana touched Roman Dmitry’s sword, it scattered at once, as if it had been completely dispelled.
It was a confusing situation.
But apart from that, something else dumbfounded Cha Dong-chul.
“Your name is Roman Dmitry?”
For a moment, he almost laughed.
“To think there exists someone who uses the Dmitry surname. If you are also a Hunter, you should know what that means.”
“Is my name wrong?”
“Don’t tell me you used it without knowing? What a pathetic fellow.”
Roman Dmitry didn’t understand Cha Dong-chul’s reaction. He seemed to be reacting only to Dmitry, not to the entire name Roman Dmitry.
Cha Dong-chul said.
“There are countless dimensions besides the Earth we live on. And those who have achieved great feats in those dimensions exert influence on Earth beyond the boundaries of dimensions. We call those who have accepted memories from other dimensions Inheritors. Roman Dmitry, that name is therefore wrong. Dmitry is the highest rank in inheritance ability, and any normal Hunter should know that.”
Inheritance ability.
People who inherited memories from beyond dimensions.
For them, abilities originating from the ‘Dmitry Empire’ were classified as the highest rank.
In fact, among the Inheritors active in the world, some of the top-tier experts had inherited the memories of Dmitry.
That’s why he laughed.
Using Dmitry as a surname was ridiculous.
From the moment the Inheritor’s abilities were revealed, people who used special names like Dmitry were all renamed to distinguish abilities.
It was a measure to make Dmitry an exception. But for a Hunter like himself, who is not very strong, to dare use Dmitry as a surname… It was something the world would laugh at.
In fact, Kang Min-ho had also been questioning Roman Dmitry’s name, but after witnessing Go Sang-ho’s death, he couldn’t bring himself to ask.
Cha Dong-chul said.
“Roman Dmitry! I acknowledge your skill. With the ability to slaughter over a dozen people in such a short time, you would have been a formidable expert that I couldn’t have handled in the past. But you have made a big mistake. I have obtained the Dmitry ability that you crave and dare to put in your name, the inheritance ability that everyone desperately wants to get their hands on.”
Kwarung.
Rumble!
He pulled up his mana.
Cha Dong-chul revealed a ferocious glint in his eyes.
“My inheritance ability is Rodney, a soldier of the Dmitry Empire. I have accepted the power of a hero who even ventured into the Demon Realm. I, a Dmitry Inheritor, will prove to you how incredibly bold you have been.”
Papat!
Cha Dong-chul charged quickly.
At that moment, Roman Dmitry saw it.
The power that Cha Dong-chul was using.
It was none other than the Asura Heart Method and the Asura Sword Technique.
