Three years after the Great Disaster.
Life had become calm again. People in the Great Han Empire were starting to forget the bad dreams and enjoy normal days.
“Oh no! I’m late!”
The man frowned, looking worried. He rushed outside to find the teleportation circle. Using magic to travel to work was still amazing, even after all this time.
He touched the screen:
[Teleport Settings]
[Regular Pass Holder]
[Destination: Gangnam]
*Whoosh!* Bright light wrapped around him.
Magic had changed everything. Teleportation was not new, but Dimitri’s magic had made it common. Now, people used teleportation like buses! Thanks to this magic, the man arrived in Gangnam quickly and ran to be on time for his first day of work.
High above, a huge screen showed the news. It was a sign that the world was safe again. The screen flashed headlines:
[Good News! Rift Experiment at Phoenix Magic Tower is Working!]
[Scientists say Dimitri’s magic is helping to fix the dangerous rifts in the sky. Some people worry it’s not a real fix, but Archmage Felix says he is hopeful!]
[Travel is Back! United States and Hector Make Deal for Tourists!]
The world had changed.
Magic became commonplace.
The Great Han Empire actively embraced the new world.
This was, of course, equally true for Dimitri.
-Dimitri Empire-
“No! What are you doing?!”
“Oh, come on!”
“Why can’t he just kick the ball right?!”
A small crowd watched a big TV screen, all groaning. It was a football game from England.
“They should fire the coach!” one man said loudly. “This team is terrible! It will only get worse.”
“Yes!” someone agreed. “Why can’t the people in charge see what’s obvious to us?”
Football, a game from another world, was now popular in Dimitri. The TV, the buildings around them – everything showed how magic and modern life were mixed together. At first, it was strange. People from different worlds were like strangers to each other.
But they learned to live together. Roman Dimitri made rules to help both worlds understand each other. They shared ideas and cultures. Old money, gold coins, was replaced with paper money, which made things easier. Everything changed so fast.
For some, three years felt like a short time after waiting for 30 years. But so much had happened in those three years. Not everyone liked the changes, but everyone agreed on one thing:
‘We have peace again.’
Now, three years later, peace was normal.

Dimitri’s training area.
Swords clashed! Roman Dimitri smiled as he blocked the attack of a blond man. *Wham! Clang! Clang! Clang!*
Chris, the blond man, was fast. His sword moved like lightning, trying to overwhelm Roman Dimitri. Chris was known as “The Flash of Dimitri” in the past. He had retired from fighting, but he still trained hard.
It had been three years since their last fight. Chris had asked for a rematch, and Roman Dimitri was happy to agree.
But the result was always the same. Chris fought well, but suddenly, Roman Dimitri’s sword was at his neck.
Chris sighed, put his sword away, and raised his hands. “I give up!”
“Still good, Chris,” Roman Dimitri said, smiling. “Remember when we first met? You were a mess!”
“Hey, don’t remind me!” Chris complained.
Roman Dimitri laughed. He remembered their first meeting clearly. Chris, who was called a genius, had challenged Roman Dimitri because he didn’t like him. Chris had ended up badly hurt. If Roman Dimitri had been angry then, Chris might not be alive now.
“You are good,” Roman Dimitri said again, seriously. Chris was one of the best swordsmen in Dimitri.
Chris made a face. “Your Majesty, when you meet my son, please don’t tell him about our first fight. I told him I was amazing! He thinks I’m still ‘The Flash’! Don’t tell him I got beat up by you.”
“That’s your problem, not mine,” Roman Dimitri teased.
“You’re impossible!” Chris laughed.
Roman Dimitri chuckled. Even though he was busy ruling, he made time for people like Chris. He had also recently spent time with Kevin, remembering their early days in the slums. They both enjoyed remembering the past.
After they talked and laughed for a while, Hanna came over.
“Your Majesty, here is the book you asked for.”
Roman Dimitri turned to her.

He sat in the shade and looked at the book. The cover was old-fashioned and fancy. The title was:
[The Great Heroes of Dimitri. By Henry Albert.]
“Henry is always the same,” Roman Dimitri chuckled.
Henry Albert was a famous writer. He had also started the Dimitri Academy after Roman Dimitri came back. It was very popular. People from Dimitri and other worlds wanted to send their children there.
Roman Dimitri wondered what was in this new book about Dimitri’s heroes. He opened it.
He laughed as soon as he saw the author’s words at the start:
[By Henry Albert, the best teacher of our time and writer of many bestsellers. People say Professor Henry Albert and Emperor Roman Dimitri are always together. We fought together in the south, my family married into Dimitri’s family, and I helped bring Emperor Roman Dimitri back to Dimitri. Who knows Emperor Roman Dimitri better than me? Let’s learn about Dimitri’s history in this book!]
It was typical Henry. After Roman Dimitri told everyone about coming from another world, Henry Albert became even more famous. People called him the greatest scholar in Dimitri. Henry’s words were a bit much, but people loved it. They thought Henry was amazing.
Roman Dimitri turned the page. There were short stories about different people.
[King Daniel Cairo: Now he is called the ‘Giant of Cairo,’ but people used to call him the ‘Scarecrow King.’ He made Cairo strong. For 30 years, when Emperor Roman Dimitri was gone, three leaders helped the continent: Rodwell Dimitri, Daniel Cairo, and Edwin Hector. Daniel Cairo had nothing at first, but he became a great leader. He was always loyal to Dimitri, which helped keep the peace for 30 years.]
He turned the page again.
[Duke Valentino: The richest merchant in the world. But people respect him for more than just money. He always supported Dimitri, even when he was getting rich. He said the economy would only get better when Emperor Roman Dimitri returned. Every year, he gave huge amounts of money to Dimitri. But some people know his secret. Duke Valentino loved Dimitri, but he collected Emperor Roman Dimitri’s swords! For 30 years, he got richer and richer while waiting for Emperor Roman Dimitri, collecting swords. People joke that his tomb will be full of treasure, especially his sword collection and ‘The Light,’ which he sold for a huge price years ago. Maybe it’s true!]
He turned another page.
[Marquis Fabius: The symbol of Dimitri’s large family. He helped Emperor Roman Dimitri a lot. He has many wives and children – 98 sons and 79 daughters! People say if he keeps going, his family will become a nation in 30 years! I met him myself, and it might be true!]
He kept reading. Roman Dimitri enjoyed remembering the past and learning about what happened in the last 30 years. It was interesting. He understood why people loved this book.
Many people were in the book. Henry Albert wrote about everyone connected to Roman Dimitri, not just the three leaders. Roman Dimitri thought Henry deserved his fame and money. When they first met, Henry was just a poor nobleman’s son. He had become successful on his own.
Roman Dimitri respected him. That’s why he let Henry write whatever he wanted. Henry was getting a bit carried away now, but Roman Dimitri didn’t mind too much.
Just as he was finishing the book, Hanna came back.
“Dinner is ready.”
He closed the book. He was hungry and ready to eat. Roman Dimitri stood up quickly.

After Roman Dimitri came back to Dimitri, his mother, Rihanna Dimitri, insisted on a yearly family dinner. Every year, they invited all their closest friends. Roman Dimitri’s parents cooked everything themselves, without any servants.
“Careful, Father! Let me carry that!”
“Rodwell, you’ll hurt yourself!”
“It’s the same food every year, but it smells so good!”
Inside the dining hall, everyone was busy. Jonathan, Chris, Kevin, Rodwell Dimitri, Loren Dimitri, Flora Lawrence, Felix, Hanna, and others were there. They all helped carry the food. Roman Dimitri felt happy watching them. They were like a real family.
Roman Dimitri helped too. The first time, everyone was shocked to see the Emperor carrying dishes! But Roman Dimitri said it was for his parents, so they let him. Everyone worked together, and soon the table was full of food.
They all sat down. Rihanna Dimitri smiled at everyone. “Thank you for coming every year. When we waited 30 years for Roman to return, I learned that we should enjoy every moment with the people we love. So, please, enjoy this dinner.”
The dinner began. It wasn’t fancy. Everyone talked and laughed, remembering old times.
“No way, did I really do that?!”
“Yes, you did! I was there!”
“Haha! You’re so funny!”
Roman Dimitri looked around at his friends, at the warm food, and smiled. If someone asked him, Baek Joong-hyuk, what is the point of life, he would have said just to survive. But now, Roman Dimitri knew the answer. It was this. This moment. This happy, normal life. This is what he lived for.
Roman Dimitri smiled brightly and joined in the laughter.
